Big Bad

Eek, big bad final exam tomorrow.

Still haven't finished my Shakespeare essay. Maybe once I get public relations stuff out of my brain, Shakespeare will come to me easier. And then when THAT'S out of my brain, I can finish my belated Fanswap assignment (I got an extension/excuse, so participants don't have to worry about me just being one of those evil non-submitters).

Mac OS X updated to 10.5.7 today. I guess I'm one of those folks who doesn't mind upgrading, because if it's from Apple, I typically trust that it's an update for a good reason. Of course, I read the "What's Changed in this Version" notes for any updates to ANY software I get, which might make me a bit unusual...anyway, I found this rather amusing tidbit:

They changed the Energy Saver icon in the System Preferences to a CFC bulb! HA! Cute, Apple, real cute.

Also, the plotbunny I've been tending to--the one that's the trans-dimensional offspring of the second daughter of WDKY (a.k.a. the spin-off of the third story in the WDKY series)--has gotten a lot larger. I suddenly thought of TWO FULL ARCS for it, meaning the story (which only exists in note-form) is now at least 16 chapters long. And I suddenly thought of a socio-politcal twist to it (that's been happening a lot with my fic ideas lately. I wonder why?). I wonder if this is what happened to JKR when she was writing "Harry Potter?" The idea sounds cool and you fiddle for it with a while and then of a sudden: IDEASPLOSION! Of course, "Harry Potter" was an original series and this is a fanfic that won't see the light of day for some time now, so it puts me in quite the pickle.

That's my new catchphrase as of late: "in a pickle." Hm. Pickles.

Greetings from the Oviatt Library of Cal State Northridge (where I was when I first started writing this post)! It's finally the late afternoon, and Inauguration Day is winding down at last. Of course, I was up at 7:30 a.m. for my 9:00 class, so I missed all the inauguration fun, even though Dad called me at 6:30 a.m. to bug me about watching it. He (and several other members of my family) seem to think Inauguration Day ought to be a holiday, but as for me, I've been looking forward to today as the first day of school long before I knew about who was going to be taking the Oath of Office this morning.

In any case, I've managed to catch up with play-by-plays, fashion reports, and transcripts of Obama's speech, so I don't feel as if I've missed out on much. Of course I'm excited and hopeful, but I also know I'll be able to watch it tonight if I so wish. After all, tons of stations are having Encore Presentations of every aspect of the inauguration, so....

As for classes, it was great seeing Prof. Lisagor for my Food Science Lab course again! She even hugged me! :) I was quite glad just to be remembered, but I immediately got into techie mode because some people couldn't log into the shiny cinema-screen Macs (sadly, with Windows pre-loaded on them; the Food Processor program we use for class is Windows-only. Blech!). We spent a lot of time talking about what the class is going to involve, but we moved onto our first big project: a cultural foods meal plan.

We're supposed to think of a culture other than our own and imagine that a person coming from that culture/country has come to the U.S. and has come to us in need of a dietician. Obviously, my first thought was for Japan! So I'm working with a classmate from India named Mythri (My-three), and we've both got to invent a person and come up with a meal plan for them that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2-3 snacks for two days. Four of those meals have to be cultural foods (that is, Japanese) that are prepared. Everything should be "made at home," not "fast food" or whatever.

...For some reason, the first person that came to mind was Usagi Tsukino. More specifically, the Usagi that's in a very particular fic that I read recently on Aria's Ink, where she's come to the U.S. on a study abroad program.

Besides, it's not as if I don't know all her vital stats: she's 4'11", 99 lbs., 15 years old (well, we're imagining Season 1-3 Usagi here), and leads an active lifestyle-- what she lacks in P.E. she makes up for with Sailor Senshi duty and running like a mad chicken on her way to school. Inputting all that in, I've discovered just how many calories, vitamins, and minerals she ought to be taking.

Bearing all that in mind, now I've got to come up with 4 simple recipes that are Japanese in origin that Usagi might eat if she's seeing a dietician for whatever reason. I'm tempted to watch a bunch of Sailor Moon episodes to see how food appears in it, and what Usagi's eating habits are (other than just "voracious").

After that class, I went to Yoga. A surprising amount of people were wearing jeans, which made me roll my eyes. Really, the syllabus says "wear comfortable clothing," and people think "jeans?" The teacher seems like she's strict but interesting-- she reminds me of a professor I had in Journalism in my freshman and sophomore year where you either loved her or you hated her, but if you loved her, it's because despite the strictness, you learned. I'm hoping that'll be the case here, too.

Work today was pretty cool, too. I only had a short shift, but half of it I worked at the kiosk upstairs in the library, which we've started doing the first few weeks of the semester to introduce campus technology and the IT department to the people milling about the first floor.

Tomorrow I've only got one class-- my Public Relations class. Normally I'd have my long Biology lab, except the professor's postponed the first class session until next week, which is nice, because it gives me time to get adjusted to my other classes, get my textbooks and other supplies (seriously $114 for a biology NOTEBOOK!?!) and get used to the campus life again. I'm hoping I can use the rare extra time (because normally Wednesday would be my all-day session) to work on WDKY26 more. So far, it's coming along quite well... ^_^

ARGH! - Financial aid check didn't go through YET, so I couldn't get my PSP and SO2:SE as planned today, let alone check out the mall for some **free** makeup. Meh, I didn't need it (the makeup) anyway, and I don't need the PSP and the game RIGHT NOW, either. Textbooks are more the priority, anyway. Surprisingly, the bookstore actually has the cheapest rate for some of the textbooks. Some of the other textbooks, unfortunately, simply can't be found on Half.com or Amazon or whatever-- they're those special notebook lab packs. But that doesn't mean I'm out of resources yet!

Also: new icons! Yay. But I still need more for some of my other fandoms. There are also some I can't bring myself to get rid of even though I rarely use them. But hell, I've got nearly 200 userpic slots, so what does it matter!?

Well, I was eliminated in the very first preliminaries of Battle #18 over at [livejournal.com profile] bssm_battle. It was my first ever icontest-type competition in a long while, and having lurked on the community and scoped out the competition, I knew it'd be a miracle if I DID make it past the prelims. Still, I'm a bit bummed about not just being eliminated (which means I wasn't in the Top 10), but scoring SECOND TO LAST. Yeah, I'm sure you can figure out which icon I made and which character I was from that. *sigh*

So, I have a lot of icon makers on my FL. What are your secrets? How do you go about making an icon? (Regardless of whether you do icontests or challenges, that is. If you do, by all means, talk about how you fit your idea to the restrictions.)

Tackle these hard-thought subject areas such as
* Originality: how do you stand out from the crowd?
* Aesthetics: how do you make it "eye-catching" or "pretty?" What combination of effects, be they layers of images, opacity, overlays, brushes, shapes, and/or fonts do you use?
* Timing: be honest, how long does it really take to churn out a "good" icon? How about a "great" or "excellent" one?
* Anything else....!?

Give examples (e.g. images) if you can. Point me at tutorials. Show me plugins, favorite brush download sites, whatever! I want help!

If I were to ever try again, I'd like some Pro Tips (so to speak) to help me out. I tried even though I wasn't very confident... matter of fact, the icon I did submit was the second one I attempted to make. I knew an image I wanted to work with, but it was getting that image into an idea, a coherent "form" that I struggled with. And even then, when I thought I'd decided on something, I hadn't. I scrapped everything-- format, layers, opacity, font, etc. for a new idea with the same art. I'm sure either way I would have failed, but... urgh, I want to try again! Someday....

Is it possible to take a batch of images and quickly and easily turn them into a single Photoshop ABR (brush set) file? If so, how? I don't care if it's a plug-in, an AppleScript, or involves some other piece of software (so long as it's free). Help!

I'm almost done with His Dark Materials, the trilogy by Philip Pullman including "The Golden Compass," "The Subtle Knife," and "The Amber Spyglass." I do think they read together better as an omnibus-- or at least 2 and 3 do, because the ending of 1 was "okay," while 2 just sort of... well, "cut off," pun not intended.

I've got a ton of other books to read at some point, many of them purchases from when I was in San Francisco, including Candace Bushnell's Lipstick Jungle, The Thirteenth Tale, the second In Death book, "Glory In Death," "The Historian," the rest of the "Book of the Dead," Susan Issac's "Long Time No See" (at Baba's recommendation), and "Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women Who Created Her," which I'm finding is a very fun, informative read on one of my favorite childhood heroines.

Today at Borders, I also picked up a bunch of manga (another one of those 5-for-4 sales), though I'm still holding off on Fullmetal Alchemist and its associated novels, since I want to wait for the whole series to be finished. Besides, I technically don't have enough bookshelf space for what I have... it's kind of embarrassing (but cool! Because who doesn't want to have their own personal library? Mine is killer! :D). I also picked up "Codebreaker," about -what else?- codes and ciphers and their history. That purchase was, of course, inspired by seeing "National Treasure: Book of Secrets." I actually love puzzles (logic puzzles are my favorite-- I'm not much one for crosswords, though I am a little good at Sudoku), and I think that's sort of come out in WDKY's Téa, because I've had her solve her father's riddles in order to unravel a family mystery (and save Seto on the side, of course). In thinking about the future of WDKY, I'm thinking, if Téa didn't become a dancer, what would she be? There could be any number of reasons why she might not dance, and I thought she might end up as a cryptanalyst or similar. It'd be a fun way of having her one-up Kaiba in many ways-- genius of one area vs. genius of... well, Kaiba's sort of an all-around guy, but hey! :D

Speaking of fanfiction, I've started revisions on an old Sailor Moon fic of mine, "Hogosha no Kokoro," or HnK for short. Originally, the title was SUPPOSED to translate to "Guardian of the Heart," but that was back before I fully understood Japanese and the function (and positioning) of noun modifiers. So technically, it translates to "Guardian's Heart," or "Heart of [the] Guardian," but I guess that's okay, too, even though the meaning is a bit different from what I intended. In any case, I explain the mixup in my Author's Notes, and add "Guardian of the Heart," as the story's subtitle. I figure I could change it to what it was meant to be (Kokoro no Hogosha), but that doesn't have quite the same ring to it, and besides, if I were to abbreviate it the way I do for my other fics (like WDKY), it would be GotH. o_o Yeah, I have a "Goth" story. Great.

Anyway, I'm not sure why I picked this one over any of my other SM fics-- heck knows they all need revising, but HnK has great possibilities as an AR Silver Millennium Fic. No, I'm not going to try and make it fit with the current theme of [livejournal.com profile] sm_monthly (which I've almost consistently had ideas for, but never gotten around to actually writing/posting).

I figured out how to get my AFP share here at CSUN working again on Leopard (Mac OSX 10.5). Apparently CSUN's Sundial servers use cleartext (!) for the passwords, and while Tiger (10.4) let you get away with that, but Leopard doesn't give you the option. So I had to go to ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleShareClient.plist.

If you installed Developer Tools (an optional install for any Mac OSX 10.4+ package), you can double-click the file and it'll open up the Property List Editor, where you'll change the afp_cleartext_allow value to "Yes," "True," or "1" (never use the quotes). What you see will depend on what editor you open it up in; because I didn't have the PLE, I used TextWrangler, where the text appeared as XML, and I edited the false tag in question into a true one. I saved the file (it has to retain the original filename with NO additional extension, e.g. txt, rtf, etc.) and tried to reconnect to the server, and PRESTO! It worked. Yayz.

It also worked for SMB shares

So, besides here on LJ, where do you get your nifty 100x100 icons? Tell me all your resources, folks, I'm feeling in need of an icon overhaul. Actually, I want Mac icons, Christmas icons, Hanukkah icons, cat icons... can anyone point me at a place that just has a PLETHORA of icons, the way FFnet has a plethora of fic? I'd rather wade through bad icons than badfic.

Does this work in-journal? Because it wasn't working on my User Info page... test, test... the below is meant to be an iTunes Widget for displaying my recent iTunes purchases. Seems kind of interesting...

I updated my User Info page, by the way. I got rid of a lot of the useless banners... for the more active communities I actually care about (meaning I'm not the only one who ever holds it up, which seems like the case for a lot of the communities I own/run, which is sad), I might put together something for them later.

I noticed [livejournal.com profile] pro_anzu_fans and [livejournal.com profile] firefoxusers went away. Does anyone have any idea why that is? I doubt it's got anything to do with ST'07 version 1 or 2...

Cut so as not to break any pretty friends' lists... )

128 or so icons, and *5* of the 7 icons in the above Love strip are WDKY. Seriously, how does this thing work? Because it's skewed, I tell you. It's not like THAT many of my icons are WDKY. Hell, even if I had one for every chapter, it wouldn't be a significant enough fraction to warrant that colorbar!

Besides that, my right wisdom tooth is hurting. Either it's "really good" (sarcastic) timing, considering I'm scheduled to get my teeth out on the 24th (DAY AFTER SCHOOL STARTS!!! AUGH!), or it's psychological, and if the latter, I'm hoping to distract myself enough today to not think about how weird it feels (and how it hurts). It feels like I have a Skittle stuck in the upper right corner of my mouth.

For those of you that have already had your wisdom teeth out, what did you eat in the days afterward? I was thinking yogurt will probably be safe, but I'm one of those people who doesn't like to eat the same thing too many times in a given period, so I need a bit more of a variety. Okay, yogurt, oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, soup... any other suggestions?

I have 10 more icon slots available, and every now and again, I find myself saying, "I need icons from Z fandom!" and then I promptly forget what those fandoms are. But right now, I totally want to make some for the Secret Society Girl books! :D I already have a few for Meg Cabot's "The Mediator" series on [livejournal.com profile] azurite (formerly known as Delishidoodle), so maybe I should finish them up and make a whole big collection of book-inspired icons!

I have yet to hear back from the book publisher whose internship got me all excited-- basically, I want to know what the positions I was interested in entailed, and who to address my cover letter to. The deadline is August 31, so assuming they don't get back to me but I still want to make deadline, does anyone have any suggestions for what to say in my cover letter, or how to find the hiring manager's name (or address the cover letter some other way besides "To whom it may concern" or "Dear Sir/Madam")? I'd appreciate any help I could get...

Possibly going to hang out with Shawn (squee?) later today; maybe the Bourne Supremacy will be back at Blockbuster? That and I want to play more FFX, since I have many more fiends to capture, weapons to customize, and Gil to get. :D

I'm not sure there's anything quite as funny as someone responding to "Wassup?" with "I'm not gay!" and a bright morning smile. Seriously, the Japanese can be so funny, without even trying. We have a few gems of people here at the dorms; one of them just said that to me and Holly as we were walking back from class.

Also, I clonked myself in the face yesterday with my Mac Book. I had so many windows open in Firefox, I didn't want to close it, so I went into the Apple menu and put the computer to sleep. It did that, but when I wanted to check something, I hit the space bar (which normally would bring the computer OUT of sleep), but I saw the "dimmed screen" again. That means the Sleep mode failed or something, and I have to cold-reboot... so I did. I wasn't sure if it turned back on when I hit the button though (i.e restart rather than shut down), so I picked up the computer to listen for the sound of the fan. I didn't hear anything, so I raised my head, and BAM! K.O'd by my own laptop. The corner of my right eye is a bit puffy and sore at the moment.

And yeah, I know I'm a klutz. Shaddup.

I updated the Elegance skin over at Dragonfayth. Check it out and tell me what you think, and if you find any sections with illegible text (too dark text, too dark background, etc.), then please let me know. I'm still working on getting the staircasing effect of the category columns worked out. I could also use some other ideas for color schemes, since Dragonfayth seems very... BLUE. Not that there's anything WRONG with blue, it's just there's a lot of it. Both CSS Zen and Elegance now use schemes of blue. I didn't like the old Elegance skin because it was this kind of pukey green to me; if you have suggestions for NICER color combinations, please send them my way.

Next up on the discussion block: the state of the American education system is inherently responsible for badfic. No, really. One of the best of the best Fanfic rants )

I also had a cheesy idea that's probably been done before: The Twelve Days of Christmas, Fandom Style!

For example:
"On the first day of Christmas, (character name) gave to me (something from fandom)!
On the second day of Christmas, ..." etc. etc.

The 12 Days of Fandom Meme
1. Choose a fandom you're involved in.
2. Choose up to 12 characters from that fandom (the song works better if you stick with one character, but then again, no one said you actually had to SING this).
3. If Christmas were celebrated in that fandom, and you were there to receive gifts from the above-mentioned characters, what would you get, and from whom?

Yu-Gi-Oh
On the first day of Christmas, Yuugi Mutou gave to me a Millennium Puzzle piece!
On the second day of Christmas, Seto Kaiba gave to me two Kaiba Corp. card keys!
One the third day of Christmas, Mokuba Kaiba gave to me three parfaits!
On the fourth day of Christmas, Jounouchi gave to me four REBDragon figurines!
On the fifth day of Christmas, Anzu gave to me five DDR games!
On the sixth day of Christmas, Pegasus gave to me six Funny Bunnies!
On the seventh day of Christmas, Otogi gave to me seven Dungeon Dice Monsters!
On the eighth day of Christmas, Sugoroku gave to me eight ancient games!
On the ninth day of Christmas, Mai Kujaku gave to me nine bottles of perfume!
On the tenth day of Christmas, Isis Ishtar gave to me ten prophetic visions!
On the eleventh day of Christmas, Malik Ishtar gave to me eleven slimey slimers!
On the twelfth day of Christmas, Hiroto Honda gave to me twelve Cyber C.'s!

So this one's not really sing-able, unless you take out the names of the people that gave the presents on the day before, and some of the syllables for the longer gifts (i.e. the "REBDragon" part of the four figurines line). But it's fun anyway, ne? Give it a try!

Lastly, I need icons...
* Christmas/Hanukkah/Winter
* NANA
* Your recommendations
Come on, point me at the pretties!

[livejournal.com profile] guardian_kysra! Okay, I have to admit, it's all [livejournal.com profile] pantsu_icons' fault. I found a Kaiba base in the first set of panty-stretching icons at the community (join! It's friends-locked, but SO WORTH IT!) and decided that it was inspirational. Or maybe your fic "Clean"/"UnClean" was the inspirational one, and the icon just fit?

In any case:
I think it's a bit fast in places... I don't know, I could go for 2+ opinions. I did get it under 40K though, so it's fully gankable, with credit to [livejournal.com profile] pantsu_icons and [livejournal.com profile] delishidoodle.

(I suppose this is my naughty way of thanking you for the delish b'day present. One day I'm going to have to icon that one...)

Ah, I think the drama with my dad is over. I called after class today and he picked up the phone. I didn't expect it, so I asked to speak to Grandpa to ask if I should get a ride home, or walk (it was still light out; I wouldn't have minded either way). Dad commented as he handed the phone away "Here, Meredith's not talking to me!"

Well, I said hi to him and Steve when I got home, and I helped Dad rent "The Ice Harvest" On-Demand. So he's not furious at me anymore, but like Baba said, no apology. I guess it's better if we let both our childish tantrums remain in the past, where they belong.

And you know what? I have no homework, so I feel like dueling. I hope [livejournal.com profile] immicolia is still online :}

I'm not someone who just sits around and writes in LJ all day. Honest. I actually go to university. :P And today I got my 10-question Weather & Climate test back, along with my "midterm" (I guess?) paper on traveling from Crescent City across the state (describing the geographical features we'd seen on our way). I got a 80% on the first one, and a 14.5/15 points on the second. So it's not perfect, but I'm pleased. :)

o_o... would someone please tell me why I have 132 userpics? No, not really-- I only have 81, but there are 132 SLOTS. ;_; That's too many! I NEED MORE ICONS! (I don't have that many lying around... at least, not that many that I haven't used already and WANT to use again)

Too many people have birthdays in March. *shakes fist* And me without my rainbow-colored font colorizer. Maybe I'll take a page from [livejournal.com profile] crpsaiyan's book and make a massive monthly-themed birthday image and put everyone's name on it. :P

Speaking of birthdays and birthday-type food, does America have a Cupcake Day? I mean, we have National Craft Month and Hug Your Dog day (maybe?)... every day and every month is something; every color and pattern has some sort of significance. We're holiday-crazy. I want a Cupcake Day. [livejournal.com profile] mklutz says she had one on the anniversary of her school (founding, perhaps?) and they actually had a RAINBOW of CUPCAKES. Who the hell wouldn't want one of those? I've actually been (unreasonably) craving cupcakes for a while. Just one, delicious rainbow-cupcake, and I'd be a happy camper. In the meantime, CUPCAKE DAY, DAMMIT! Quite possibly on my birthday.

Hawaiian cupcakes? *shrugs* Why not?

Back to the fun that is Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease, I find it incredibly difficult to do that whole "wiggle" thing where you shift the top part of your body to the side, but without moving your hips or feet. As in, moving just your chest using your ribcage. o_o... This makes it harder to do the full body roll, because even though I can do the "Cat Cowl" thing, trying to combine all the moves into one causes me to become really short of breath, for some weird reason. But for everything else, I breathe just fine. I know I'll never be able to do the workout on Mondays, because I'm so busy, but I can do it for the rest of the week.

Scott finally "guessed" (I dropped about 10 tons worth of hints; sometimes that boy is so adorably dense) about what I'd got, and he was pleasantly 'surprised.' He was working out too, to build up his own endurance (and for me, he said. That makes me giggle). So now we're "even." He's definitely coming up here for Passover now, just to see if he can get a sneak preview of me supposedly knowing how to striptease. *laughs* something tells me I'm going to turn into a potted plant and not be able to do it without looking stupid.

When I have some free time:
* Get a wireless card
* Move everything around/clean for Passover (since I won't be here during Spring Break)
* Finish up my scholarship applications
* Finish up my 5 on-hold fics for [livejournal.com profile] 30kisses - "Kaiba the Virgin Sacrifice," "Girls' Club", "Sight Unseen," "Voice," and "Someone Else's Wife." Just by looking at the titles, which TWO would you want to read the most? ([livejournal.com profile] atlantian_magic, if you read this, your choice is important. It's your birthday coming up, and I wanna give you a fic. :P)
* Layouts? Everywhere (LJ, seventh-star.net, etc). I need to get the site-formerly-known-as-AMC up. I need a new site title. HELP!
* Tax return? Hey, it was $100 I didn't have before. And now the damn school is jumping down my throat over it. So I need a 'dependent' verification form (shiz. Am I still considered a dependent in school/legal/medical terms, even though Mom doesn't financially support me?), her tax return (copy), and my tax return (ugh).

So much for the end of stress. I can't wait until spring break.
19 MORE DAYS!!!

I've updated my Pics Gallery to include several more icons for the community (once journal) [livejournal.com profile] delishidoodle. I saved all the entries, but I apparently saved them in the wrong order. Also, since they had old, personal journal edit id attached to them, I couldn't post them to their original dates (last August through September), and I couldn't backdate them anyway, because you can't backdate in a non-personal journal. WTF?

Well, at least I won't have to login and logout all the time to post to [livejournal.com profile] delishidoodle. There's no official post of the new icons at the community yet, but I'll get around to it tomorrow; I'm exhausted right now from staring at the computer all day... got pwned in two JTP duels, did some brief iconing (thanks, Jounouchi!), and edited the snot out of a bunch of community posts to try and get the dates work. If anyone goes to the comm. and can see how I can fix the damn entry order, please help me out!

Oh, and in case you missed my earlier voice post, here's a run-through of what's what... )

Anybody subscribed to my FFnet alerts will now know that I have written my first-ever Harry Potter fic; it was for the [livejournal.com profile] dmhgficexchange, and is titled "Secret of the Shrieking Shack." If the community name wasn't a dead-giveaway, it's a Draco/Hermione fic, but there's very little actual romance between them; more like snark and action. :) Go read it and tell me what you think of my first foray into HP-ficdom. I should probably post it at FictionAlley, [livejournal.com profile] dramione, and MMorg while I'm at it. o_o

Heh, [livejournal.com profile] mmagnet_ff, "cinemanga" sounds like cinnamon-flavored manga. o_o

HEY! So who wants to help beta WDKY23? I might as well just ask for chapter-by-chapter commitment, instead of general WDKY editors. I'm especially open to people who want to exchange one thing for another; that is, I'll beta for you if you beta for me. If you're stuck with an idea, want a grammar Nazi to clean up your narrative, or just want someone to bounce ideas off of, I'm your girl! I'm open to the usual fandoms, but my squick is slash-- I don't do it. So feel free to let me know. :)

I've worked a bit more on my [livejournal.com profile] iconfiend100 claim for Seto x Anzu, and so far, I have 14/100 done. It's a pathetic amount, considering how long I've had the claim, but I went for a very long while with NO iconspiration. Lately, it's been fic, fic, all the time, and even now, that's hard, because I don't want to disappoint with Ch. 24. I might be a bit overeager to get to 25+ (for reasons that must remain confidential), but I still want to make WDKY as a whole the best fic it can be.

Back to the icons... I'll work on some more as I get inspired and find source art (be it anime, manga, or fanart). I've got 49 ACs left, and the following themes: forgiveness (I wanted to find an image of Seto from the Battle City/Noa's World arc, when he's on his knees in front of Anzu. Anyone have said image?), soft (Romeo & Juliet, much?), loneliness, working, abandoned, hug, smile (Myco's song?), tears, sunshine (Mamono, how'd you do that effect on my WDKY icon, anyway?), innocence, so far away, stars (DMG!Anzu? But how would Seto work into that?), in the moonlight, tickle, sweet dreams, blue, honorable, walls, happiness, food, over the rainbow (the song, duh), sugar + spice, holiday, beginner's luck, forgotten, misery loves company (that Kysra art of drill sergeant!Seto making Téa do pushups...?), candy, present, starving, joy, heaven, 31 flavors, silk, keeping a secret, open doors, lace, forever and a day. Any input is appreciated!

Quick! I'm almost out of WRPII class-- YAY! I updated my pictures gallery with a new layout, because Smoove was being a brat. ScrapBook in general is actually quite difficult to use, in the sense that links are not clearly displayed, and they don't end in filetype (*.gif, *.jpg, etc.). The layout was also imbalanced and "crooked," not displaying pics in even rows. But I just fiddled around with the styles until I found something I liked...

Delishidoodle, which runs off my icon sub-gallery, is the most up-to-date place of accessing my icons, though I'm not sure if my layout change affected all my sub-galleries. The official website (Delishidoodle) needs a new layout, but it, too, is pretty up-to-date, minus a few incompleted challenge icon sets ([livejournal.com profile] 7sinvirtueicons).

So check it out!

Okay, so my genius has nothing to do with a damn Geek Squad cable, which I have every intent of returning as soon as possible.

All I had to do was type in \\my.ip.ad.dr.es.s into Windows Explorer and it worked! YAY! Of course, it's taking forever because of all the Podcasts (which I never listen to, and for some reason, I have a Reggae podcast I never subscribed for) and music, plus episode 1 of Trick (wanna download the rest of Season 1, but I forgot where to go!).

I also successfully installed iTunes on my laptop, but it never shows up on my screen when I click the icon. I've agreed to the License Agreement, but still, nothing happens. *blink* Whar? I'm a bit relieved to know I'm not the only one who had such difficulties with updating to iTunes 5, though-- it goes to show not even Apple is infallible.

I'm also going to work more on my icon claims for [livejournal.com profile] iconfiend100 and [livejournal.com profile] 7sinsvirtues, especially the latter since 14 icons would be a snap for me. ^^; Note that the icons WILL NOT overlap, so there will be over 114 SxA icons on the web, courtesy of yours truly. I think I ought to start up a gallery of them over at BEA!

I need a smaller size version of the banner I just posted over at [livejournal.com profile] betasquad. It needs to be about 200 x 150 or so, GIF format. Any takers?

zOMGHOLYFUCKINGBATMANS!

I just saw the newest Harry Potter trailer, and WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

October + November = THE SHIZNIT!

That is all.

(1) They don't announce when the "final" season: Yu-Gi-Oh Grand Championship (mashing together KC Grand Prix with the Memory World arc) is starting, but it WILL be 2 new episodes every Saturday... so this means Yu-Gi-Oh! (Duel Monsters) will continue on Saturdays at least until they finish. Kids WB previously announced they were cutting their Saturday block and lengthening their Weekday block, but they didn't say when.

(2) On their Trivia page, they spell "Pharaoh" wrong. -_- No wonder where the fanits get it from. (They also use the Buffy font. Yeah, real original!)

(3) In the Trivia page, they misspell "Timaeus" as well- they spell it "Tomias."

And though today started out great, one thing from K, the lead I like so much (she's a girl, I just admired her a lot) had me receding into myself. And for all the "fun" I had talking with C today, who was on reg with me for part of the time, he still ended up an ass over all, and didn't even say goodbye to me when he left. Well, good riddance. I have no mind to deal with such immature, obnoxious, rude people anymore.

I saw a girl come in with the same "meaning of color" that's been appearing with all the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe advertisements, but try as I might to find said advertisements online, even on the Nissan and Infiniti websites, I get bupkis. I have the Study In Red ad in a Wired magazine, but what about the white one? And I know there's black too... does anyone know where I might find these?

Attention all Azureshippers! Go to [livejournal.com profile] delishidoodle and check out my latest post, with the first 5 Seto x Anzu icons for [livejournal.com profile] iconfiend100. I'll post another entry after that catching up on all the icons I've made so far. I've almost hit 100! These icons are all up (along with all the other icons I've made so far) on the Delishidoodle website, but the layout isn't very pretty so far. Still, you can access the main section of icons.

Because I like to torture my fans... )
