Attack of the killer lerps!
Jul. 27th, 2004 02:53 pmOut here in Northridge, eucalyptus trees are plentiful. As are hundreds of other types of trees, especially the Valley famous orange and lemon trees. But with trees come... parasites! It's Weevil's dreamland. I've had to deal with huge spiders in the past few days in my room and the bathroom, and even worse, the leech-like lerps that fix themselves to the leaves of trees, forcing the trees to "bleed." It's really gross.
I'm hoping to be a bit productive after this point, considering Dad's about to leave... we finally finished assembling my furniture, and all that's left is for me to put my clothes and such away. Shouldn't be too hard. I need to get a bunch of double-stick tape though, to put up my coat hanger on my door, my bulletin board, and anything else that would normally need some other sort of fixative (screws, etc.). The posters are still going to be push-pinned or taped, though-- so by the time I get everything done, Feng Shui'd, and ready for photographing, it'll look good. The wallpaper is still weird (the USS Constitution, anyone?) but eh. Nice turquoise carpeting makes up for it...
Productive means getting Dragonfayth and BEA back up and running. Productive means writing more fics, making sure all my school stuff is as sorted out as it can be, and getting a job somewhere. I have a lot to do, but it always involves something else-- I'm relying on Mom to send me the CD asap, but when she called me earlier, she was like "I'm in pain, and that's more important than your CD." Which is true, and I do hope she feels better, but yeesh, it's not like it takes her ten hours to stick a CD in a case, write my address on it, and mail it to me. She's got a damn post office 6 blocks from the house, or across the street from her work, in the basement of Macy*s! -_- I NEED THAT CD!!!
So I'm redownloading BEA from here, and if I want to put myself through some extra hell, I can always redo the fanbase from where I am. It just means staring at the screen for a long time, and doing a great deal of FIND and REPLACE for the Members List... stupid batchmembers.php. I could focus on Dragonfayth, but again, all the images and files are there in San Francisco. -_- GRR.
Besides that, there's my desire to get as much as quickly as possible-- Photoshop CS, ws_ftp Pro, Dreamweaver MX, etc. etc. For some reason, I can't get the FTP connection to work for Dreamweaver OR Internet Explorer. Normally I get some kind of a prompt asking me for a password (at least in IE, I do. It's all preprogrammed into DW4), but I get nothing. It's so irritating, having to go to cPanel just to upload stuff... I'm running XP Home off this computer here, but McAfee Firewall is disabled and expired, and the default firewall is off. HELP! Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Oh yeah, and episode 214 of Yu-Gi-Oh... must get. Even if it's raw. It's the Seto vs. the Pharaoh episode! And the big ultimate KISARA DIES ep! *grin* She's so wicked cool in that episode, it just inspires me for more fics. THAT IS A VERY BAD THING. Anyway, I've gotta kick this computer into submission and finish cleaning my room. Yep.
