Oh joy, what a wonderful day. I had to go see a dentist. -_- In case you didn't figure it out from my subject line, I'm not too fond of them-- even if I'm related to them. Any of you have one of those twisted lifelong dreams of being a dentist? Well, let's hope we never meet in person, because I'll take an ax to YOUR teeth. I hate dentists, HATE 'EM!
So this guy, Burt, is a 2nd cousin of Grandpa Irving. See, Grandpa's mom and Burt's mom (Molly) are sisters, so that means Grandpa and Molly are cousins, and Burt, son of Molly and HER husband Irving, are 2nd cousins. I think. I was never good at this whole family tracing thing. And Burt is a dentist smack in the middle of Beverly Hills, right off Wilshire Boulevard. The weather there was awfully nice, with the bright sun, no clouds, and a very refreshing breeze. But walking around was a pain in the neck, because you spent more time waiting for the lights to change than you did going from Point A to Point B!
So we got to Burt's place, and Grandpa went in first, while Baba and I read magazines-- I got increasingly nervous, since a) I haven't been to the Dentist's in a loooong time (I blame it on my mom) and b) the last time I went I had 9 cavities. Yes, 9. Of course I'm ashamed of myself! But I'm trying to force people to tell me to whip into shape by volunteering myself for public humiliation-- don't you get it? -_- Ke, the catch is, after the X-Rays (uncomfortable too-- I hate the way dentists prod you) Burt revealed to Grandpa and Baba that I had something like 15 cavities! I thought that was a major exaggeration, but I guess not. So they told me I can't have soda anymore. Once or twice a WEEK, fine, but no more. GAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! This is terrible.
After that, we dropped by to visit Molly and Irving, Burt's parents. We had lunch there-- a nice chicken salad, a regular veggie salad, some bread rolls, and rice pudding. It was all yummy, even if it was "uber healthy" by my standards. don't get me wrong, I don't chow on fast food anymore, but still. o_O All the same, I got filled up, and by the time everyone went out to the living room to talk, I conked out on the couch, trying to read National Geographic. Sometime later, Baba announced we were leaving-- but for some bizarre reason, Molly clung onto my arm the whole way to the car. o_O
As per the usual with me in a vehicle, I fell sound asleep during the ride home-- and Baba actually drove! O_O I didn't know she could drive. Wow. A while later, we got back here and... here I am. I want to start downloading my webpages so I have at least temporary copies of everything until I can get my CD from mom, but my major concern is figuring out why I can't seem to upload/FTP anything from this computer. I keep getting that stupid "A connection with the server could not be established," and it really pisses me off! In the meanwhile, I can play stuff on my PS2-- thanks to David, I got it hooked up, and all I have to remember is Channel 91 is A/V input. I played FFX-2 last night, and managed to beat the Concherer (Level 60 Cloister Boss). I don't know why the heck he was so hard before!! I just had Yuna use Trigger Happy on him for a few bursts, Paine attack with Darkness, and TA-DAH, no more Concherer. Sadly, Rikku died towards the end of battle, so no EXP for her. But it's Yuna that needs the real catching up. Still, I ended up dying in Level 67 because I ran into a Mega Tonberry. You can't escape from those battles!! And even at Level 85+, I can't beat them! The Mega is too fast! I don't know how to avoid them... *whines* HELP!
Anyway, back to Yu-Gi-Oh Episode 214. It's got so much fic potential-- I swear, even if Seto/Kisara didn't have anything going on in the manga, in the anime, it is SOOO implied. Subtly, anyway. Seto says all this stuff about "light and love" (at least it sounded like that to my rusty Japanese-translating ears) and Kisara looked up at him and smiled. Kisara is so pretty, too. She had some great facial expressions in this ep, so I'm in the mood for more fanart. ^_^ Whee~
