azurite: (grr)
Well, blech, I don't feel good. But no one can tell me that I haven't been taking care of myself or that this is the result of bad karma or something; this is bad karma that comes every damn month. Period. HAHA. I imagine Zork will be "feeling the pain" soon enough. *evil grin*

On the bright side, being grumpy and keeping hours at weird parts of the day is good for the gamer in me. I'm up to 86% and Level 77 or so in FFX-2, and am working on opening the Chocobo Secret Dungeon (dispatching and catching chocobos to raise to Level 5), getting my agency's publicity up (I don't know why the event hasn't happened yet; I know my Level/Publicity rating is kinda low, but hello, it's Chapter 5 and I want to trigger the mission...).

Oooh, oooh oooh! And I solved the puzzle in the Thunder Plains Secret Cave! ^_________^ It took me about 3 tries and about 4 sheets of notebook paper (yes, I keep an FFX-2 notebook. It's for all the scribblings I make that never go into my Strategy Guide), but I did it! So for my future reference (I'll be going back there to level up for Bevelle and also to obtain the special treasure chest) and for anyone else planning to get all the secret treasure down there...

(1) Keep a tally of how many battles you get into since you enter the cave. Divide it up into sections-- all the battles occurring after you open Wall X, Wall Z, etc. For me, I had
Post Wall 3 - 12 battles, Post Wall 10 - 2 battles... etc.

(2) Write down the exact amount of Gil you had upon entering the cave. It's probably not possible to keep track of how much gil you earn in each battle (especially if you have a Thief or the Nab Gil ability, like I did), so you're going to end up using the Gil Compendium eventually and writing a few formulas--- the G.C. will tell you how much gil you've obtained between entering the cave and opening the walls; you just have to do some subtraction in order to find out the amount obtained since opening Wall Z and opening whatever Wall has that formula for its keycode (probably #15).

I have also theorized that since it combines logic, mathematics, and English skills (well, linguistic skills), FFX-2 is the perfect game for 1 gamer and 1 MENSA member to play together. Without a strategy guide, they could beat it in a matter of hours, I'm sure.

Other stuff:
(1) FFnet's Quick Edit will prove to be a bitch no matter what I do, apparently. Note that QuickEdit will not recognize some non-language relevant keyboard characters. This means things like tildes, underscores, and asterisks. These are pretty COMMON things in fics, even if they're not language-relevant-- the thing is, if QuickEdit deletes them, then they won't show up in the fic AT ALL, because a fic is automatically loaded into QuickEdit with the Preview feature, so... >_< Bye bye, characters! Everyone has to learn to use bold and italicized text...

(2) Got some errors from Person M to fix up at BEA. o_O Person M is a dude. Person M is a dude who likes S/A *and* reads WDKY. WOW. I think I'm in shock. Or something.

(3) I had a weird and icky dream last night about my cheeks being covered in a minefield of whiteheads. And the more I sucked off with that Igia thingy, the more came up. It was really gross. I looked up that cannibal dream too, and everything in the dream pretty much portends bad luck and watching out for suspicious people that have no moral scruples. Hm.

I gotta go now, much RPing to be done. :)
