Amazing changes of mind
Nov. 14th, 2003 12:47 amAfter watching the interview with Britney Spears' and Diane Sawyer, I find myself listening to her CDs and having more respect for the girl. Like any celebrity, she's put in the (dark) light more than she deserves. I hate tabloids. I hate them because they're stupid, because they denounce the name of good journalism. I hate the way their flashy covers and candid pictures turn mostly-innocent people into all sorts of weird, and how they sucker people into thinking half the things they say are even remotely true. I think the people that buy (into) such tabloids are missing part of their cerebellum.
But anyway, Brit's been through a lot of s#it, and while I used to call her (and Christina A) sluts, they're far from it. Britney really HAS been trying to find herself, as a lot of girls try to do. She's going through a lot of the normal stuff girls do, but being in the spotlight taxes her. Christina has genuine talent. But to make it in the pop star world, you have to keep so many things in mind-- image sells, and image breaks. Both girls seem to be reminded of how they are "role models" for so many younger girls-- but did they necessarily ask for it? Think about it-- how many girls who have thier very dreams come true expect there to be fine print? "If you wanna sing, fine. But you have no creative control, and if you decide to dress a bit edgily, remember, the parents of eleven year old girls will be breathing down your neck." That's so friggin' unfair.
And as for the whole Justin thing... well, I never liked him to begin with. I think Brit's better off without him, and she's allowed to keep her own secrets (she probably didn't sleep around, but if something happened and she hung out with another guy, so what? Men tend to be too possessive anyway). And I applaud her for her kiss with Madonna. Go BOTH of them! Madonna's still around these days because she's as edgy as she's always been. I respect Madonna. She KICKS ass, and is one killer role model- for girls, women, and pop stars. :D
Onwards. People that deserve less and less of my respect... those who don't shower. So many people coming into the theater with less-than-flowery body odor. There was this one she-male... ugh... body of a woman, but face of... some sort of gorilla or something. Eew. Mustache and beard, warts, oily skin, and HAIR ON HER NECK. Bushy. Not the kind that is attached to your scalp and grows downward. I know what hair on the nape of your neck looks like. Eew. Women do not NATURALLY have such bad B.O. or body hair. Ew ew ew. Cavewoman. Gross.
And this one guy was a bit "short circuited," shall we say... he was a bit weird when ordering his tix, and later upstairs, he was standing outside of the women's bathroom staring at our Harry Potter sign... it's got a hologram of Sirius Black on it, that disappears depending on where you stand. And he just kept STARING at it, touching the "lightpost" and trying to read the upside-down text. He stood there for about five minutes. o_O I didn't even look at the "Haunted Mansion" posters that long, and there's five of them, DOUBLE-SIDED, with object-finds in them!!!
WHOOOOOOOOO HOO! Got the name of the song for WDKY9!!!!!! *whoops and cheers* HAHAHAH!! Jo Dee Messina, "I Wish!" This is why I hate MovieTunes-- they never pronounce things clearly enough, and so many artist names can be spelled different ways... Like "So She." Or is it "Soshi?" Perhaps even "Sohshi?" Who the hell knows? How about Susie K? Or is it Susy Kay? Maybe Susie Ke? Suzie Kay? The way it's properly pronounced might not even be like how it's spelled. It could be Suzi Kahy. >_< ARGH!
( lyrics to go nuts over )
Oh geez, I keep forgetting how many of the Britney songs are so... emotional! *hits self* Readers would kill me if I used them too much in WDKY, but so many of them would work SO well for this one upcoming part... X_X
I have work from 12:15 AGAIN tomorrow, but this time it's an 8-hour-shift. Thank god (!?) I have Audience Greetings tomorrow, so I won't be stuck in Box the WHOLE time. X_X Food's another matter. I wonder if Mom would mind if I borrowed $6...
