"Well YOU'RE perky!"
Sep. 25th, 2003 12:21 amYes, someone actually told me that I'm "perky" today. o_O I guess I've been a little wired/hyper/genki today at work-- maybe that came from seeing Mark, or knowing that I only had to work four hours, or that my paycheck is tomorrow-- or simply because I was well-fed before I came to work, and didn't have to eat another hot dog! :D
(of course, as soon as I mention hot dogs, I have to run to the bathroom. Damn my stomach!)
I arrived at work 10 minutes early today, after shoe shopping for about an hour and a half with mom downtown. It was actually productive today-- we walked away from DSW with a bunch of new socks and me with my new shoes, these Mootsie Tootsies that are really cute and comfortable, too. Plus they fit all the work requirements... ~_~
After that, Mom and I went to grab a bagel and a drink at All Star's cafe (which sucks-- they overcrisped my bagel and didn't put the cream cheese on themselves! How hard is it!? I was juggling cream cheese, a knife, and the bagel at the bus stop!) and then I took the 38 to work. I finished up my bagel in the break room over Nancy Drew, and talked with Anthony M. some, who is one of the supervisor-people-types. He's nice. Then I clocked in, and was assigned two floors-- 4th and 2nd, but I started on the 2nd floor, and as it turned out, they never needed me on the 4th floor at all. :P I got a lot of customers, and many of them really seemed to like me-- it's a really gratifying feeling making people smile when you smile at them. I messed up a few times with orders, mainly because Wednesday is free popcorn night for MovieWatchers, but I figured it out eventually an had an OC help me with the one refund I needed-- this one girl made it sound like she wanted 3 small popcorns, not 1 small popcorn and 1 small drink! ;_; Geez! I always try to confirm orders for a reason...!
Anyway, so I got 1 15 minute break during which I just sat in the break room, read Nancy Drew, and ate a Snickers-- I almost didn't have enough for the Snickers! Good thing my drink was free, at least... The bright point of my day was seeing Mark-- he was working that day, much to my surprise! We barely talked, of course, unless you count that time I got him a cup of ice... >_> Blah. I don't even know how old he is, but he's still funny. And not bad to look at, either! *dr00l*
The time went by faster than I thought, and before I knew it, it was 10:30. Anthony was the only person with me at concession, so I got to leave. I didn't have $1 for DDR like I was hoping, but I managed to borrow one off Naveed, my nice supervisor who has now nicknamed me "Crazy Mer." ^^; I think it's because he saw me when I was so wired when my shift first started, and I was excited to be helping out the trainees a little. But, to my surprise, some nimbus left 75 cents on the machine already-- so I played 2 games, adding the last quarter after borrowing 25 cents from a nearby security guard. He said I was the only person he knew that worked at the theater that played-- and did I enter tournaments? Apparently he's been to a few, and has seen some good players, so I was flattered when he said I was good. :) I got an A overall for my first 3 stages, and a C overall for my 2nd game-- because I picked harder songs and was already tired. But I got a great workout, and was happy that I had the chance to DDR.
Anyway, I'm home now... tomorrow I'll go back to work after 6 to get my paycheck and hook up the direct deposit with my bank-- there really aren't that many Citibanks around... they're like McDonald's-- all crammed into one area, and then never where you need them. :P I'm worried though-- not about anythign dealing with work, really. I hope my paycheck will be of a decent amount, but money is money, as far as I've concerned and I've *earned* it. What's nagging on my mind is the whole SFSU thing. I should go to the campus tomorrow and got to the Student Services center if I haven't gotten the email from Admissions tonight-- and I'm not sure if I'll be glad if I do or not! What's worse, the online status being wrong and them NOT getting back to me, or the online status being RIGHT, and having to find out in person and my heart and dreams being shattered into a million tiny pieces!? What a tough choice. Dad called me earlier and told me he's diverting part of his payments to fund my "education," and people in the family are asking if I got accepted into SFSU. What do I do now!? I'm going to get hysterical and lose all my genki-factor if I really HAVE been denied... god, that would seriously RUIN MY LIFE. *sigh* Maybe I'm exaggerating. I seriously hope it's just some sort of mistake. Please...
Anyway, Joe should drop off Norton SystemWorks tomorrow and get his Megaman (and whatever else he might have left here) back. I need help with Norton, since Mom and I went to all that trouble to buy a new subscription when we have to uninstall and reinstall everything, and we might not even NEED IT! Yeesh. And with the way my computer just shut down and restarted in the middle of my Photoshopping, all random like, has got me worried. Plus Norton AntiVirus has disappeared, and I can't seem to run it through Norton Utilities or by itself at all! AUGH! ;_;
*sigh* So I'll have to wait till tomorrow night before working on the awards or the project anymore, since I'd rather not risk losing a great deal of work to something I don't understand or can't deal with right now. And right now, I'm somewhat tired, my feet are pretty sore, and I have a stomachache that appeared out of nowhere. Here's hoping my emails have been answered or somesuch, and that life will improve!
Oh, and for the record, I work on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday of next week. ;P I'm too lazy to get the schedule out now, but at least I know I can go to FX uninteruppted. ;) Joy. Hehe, oh yeah, and I was singing in Japanese today when I was all by myself at concession. I need to memorize more songs. Like THIS one!
