Yeah, so after that dream I wasn't able to sleep much. I'm pretty awake now... something about the quiet, dark hours keeps me here. Weird, when lately I haven't had much to do in terms of online activity. I should remedy that soon though, since when I start work (and eventually, school) I won't have much time for anything anymore!
Let's see... worked on the SMRFF LJ community tonight, though I think modifying it from a closed-->open community irked the server or something somehow, and now all the members have to add themselves. All 11 of them, but big deal. Maybe I can get around to using some nice overrides for the SMRFF LJs too, since I discovered how easy it is. Speaking of which, I really ought to edit the simple "banner background" I have going on, by adding some whitespace.
Priority One right now is getting images and working on the new awards for Mamo Week; only one award, the Best Overall for Usa Week will follow the old format, but if people actually USE these images on websites and such (and not just save them to their compie, like I FEAR!) then I want them to be more web-friendly-- not so huge, stylish, and saying what they need to say. So the new SMRFF Award Design will premiere eventually-- before I go to the wedding, that's for sure.
I just remembered being a lurker over at RAAC-- the Usenet's answer for fanfiction and artwork. All the old school, old-timer, veterans, you know, the respectable MASTERS of the art are still here, and it's amazing. Good stuff, even in the archives, where I caught myself reading the angsty-filled "The Light That Shines Brightest," which is, ironically enough, a Kodocha fic. Sad, really... in the Miscellaneous folder, for those curious. Too bad they don't have Hana Yori Dango and Peach Girl folders. Well, I know what I'll do when I get around to posting new fics...
Speaking of which, downloaded this nifty tool called Reform. It's supposed to help with reformatting fics, something I sorely need... only works with Plain Text though, and it might just be more confusing than I thought. Erk.
Right now, reading some Ranma fics-- KaraOhki posted something new, which amazed me, and prompted me into checking her "Pagoda" out-- some of my favorite fics of hers still aren't finished, but the way I am with fandoms, I end up reading entire fics over and over until authors update. ^^; I remember all the best parts, and then it's like I'm even more hyped up, screaming, "MORE MORE!" Hehe, particularly for fics like Blue Fluffball's "When Bakas Learn" and KaraOhki and David Geraci's "A Kiss to the Victor." Ah, and don't let me forget the (in)famous "Hearts of Ice," by Krista Perry, Goddess At Large. :}
I wanna write fanfiction when I grow up! I swear.
I don't know why I had the sudden urge to listen to this song (on repeat, no less) ... I must have heard a remixed version somewhere, or maybe I just heard the tail end of it and liked the lyrics. It would work for any number of fandoms, but now that Ranma, Kodocha, and Hana Yori Dango are on my mind... well, the scenes are already playing out. See what I mean: Everyday, a shade of blue
You won't believe
What I'm going through
It just feels like I can't afford to let myself go
No, oohooo no...
Everyone is just the same
They touch me
But I can't say
There has been no one brighter than you
I can't deny these things that I do
Feels like the world's at stake 'cause
I have been waiting
I have been waiting for you
Heavenly, that's what you are
You're burnin' me like a shining star
How am I supposed to be that king without you
Ooohooo...it's true yea
Everyone is just the same
They love me
But I can't say
There has been no one brighter than you
I can't deny these things that I do
Feels like the world's at stake yeaaahh...
I have been waiting
I have been waiting for you
Heeeeeeeey yeaaaah
There has been no one brighter than you
I can't deny these things that I do
Feels like the world's at stake 'cause
I have been waiting
I have been waiting for you
I have seen no (light) brighter than you
And I can't deny these things that I do
Feels like the world's at stake yeeaah yeah
I have been waiting
I have been waiting for you
Great song. :)
Holy crap, I just remembered... Daigakusei no Ranma. That must have updated so much since I last read... I really have to get back to that. Seriously, I have to get on update lists. My fic reading habits are horrid.
Note to self-- catch up on these fics:
- Ranma's Apartment - Chris Jones
- A Day and Night - Kyle Emmerson
- Tiger Claw - Madam Hydra
- Best Served Cold - Robert Knighton
All Ranma, all supposedly very good. :) I remember Ranma's Apartment and I *think* Best Served Cold, but I could be wrong. Suddenly I want to work on Time After Time and Saisei again.

The one true source for anime fan statistics I've EVER seen! Pretty darn cool, if you ask me!
Argh. Listening to "Mitternacht" reminded me (for some odd reason) of this Ranma fic I wrote, but I can't remember the title to, and I'm not sure if I ever posted it (in which case, it probably needs revising). I want to say it was called "Kagemusha," but I never use titles that are so bland... I mean yeesh, there was the Ranma tape, "My Kagemusha, Myself," but I think it was something-- AH HAH! Shadowfall! Yes, and the plot... *schemes* Okay, another fic to add to the list. :)
@_@ Sudden thought-- an adaptation of "A Walk to Remember" could easily be made for the Romeo-and-Juliet arc of Ranma 1/2. After all, Akane is a studious, beautiful girl with an unrecognized talent... Ranma is a slacker who has a change of mind and a change of heart. :) Too bad I'm weaning myself off movie-plot fanfictions, since they aren't all that original. But maybe one day... Huh, some would apply to Moulin Rouge, oddly enough. o_O Of course, the heroine dies in BOTH those movies... >_> (How very Saffron-ish)
Geh, much reading of "A Kiss to the Victor" and "When Bakas Learn" to be had... and I'm finally getting tired. Night, all!
