You know, a hot pair of shoes is useless unless you have an outfit that will make the shoes seem like the perfect partner. And now I'm wondering what the heck is "classy" for a young woman visiting Las Vegas in February?

Apparently, "classy" for a woman is different from what she might wear to work (blazers and tailored tops), what she might wear to a date, or, if I were some superstar actress or singer, what I might wear to an awards show.

So what works? Obviously a combination of parts from all of the above; I'm thinking of a nice satin tank top with dress pants (slacks) and possibly a black blazer. The blazer isn't something too fancy-- it's short (only waist-length) and kind of satiny too, and also not thick, nice material like wool or polyester. But maybe that's not classy unless you've GOT killer accessories like a nice purse and good jewelry?

Aaah, I'm confused!

How come guys can get away with just suits?

Oh, but always remember that being classy is more than just how you dress. It's also about personality and how you treat people as well. Take it from someone who tolerates the main boss. Sure, she dresses classy, but she definitely needs work on treating people with respect, regardless of who they are, or what their background is. But then again, you can't teach a snob like her about class. Oh, well. *shrugs*

Classy is being presentable in a slightly more formal crowd, but not overdoing it. Sometimes, simple is the best way to go. And like the person above said, personality is also part of the charm.

Guys get away with suits cuz they're not creative. XD

Classy is a lot of things - and in Vegas, it totally depends upon where you go. I guarantee that if you wear slacks ANYWHERE unless it's to a show and/or a super-nice dinner, you'll feel over-dressed.

Go with some NICE jeans - every girl should have a pair of jeans that are crazy-flattering and only worn for such ocassions. Then "dress-up" the rest of your body. Fun heels, a shiny tank-top, the blazer and, like you said, ACCESSORIES. I will shout that from the roof-tops - ACCESSORIES MAKE THE OUTFIT. If you want "classy" but also "hip and trendy" you gotta accessorize. It's just a must.

(those shoes are super cute, btw)

The best advice - especially in terms of being "classy" - I can give for accessories is to wear simple clothes that are flattering and then dress them up with whatever you like. I think it's best to invest in a couple basics that you KNOW make you look (and feel) fantastic - a couple ASS-KICKING jeans (black, dark jean, light jean, boot-cut, skinny, trouser...), a fitted black sweater, a longish white button-down collared shirt, a pencil skirt, a jersey and/or wrap dress (in black, tan or brown), black slacks, etc. The things that, for the most part, NEVER go out of style.

Then, the fun part - buy CHEAP-ASS SHIT. Spend GOOD money on basics that will last and then buy up inexpensive "trendy" items. I have an entire wall of necklaces that probably didn't cost me more than $200 total. And if you shop at places like Forever 21 (or For Love 21, their jewelry site), Charlotte Russe and H&M, you can't go wrong in terms of what's "in".

Shoes, though, are my vice. I don't honestly care if they're expensive, cheap, gawdy, loud or whatever - if I like them, I will find a way to buy them. But for what it's worth, I have 5 pairs of red shoes so I say the ones you picked are totally worth it. :)

Like your friend said below, classy is also how you carry yourself. Plus, it depends on the situation. Are we talking about classy in a business meeting sense or classy for clubbing?

Kathy Van Zeeland makes some really nice purses that can be casual or classy, and they're pretty affordable--usually $60-$100 if you go someplace like Macy's or Boscov's or QVC, but TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall's, etc. all sell the purse for half price! Sometimes, the ones at the outlets aren't too cute, but sometimes, they're really fabulous looking. I recently bought the Mansion Hobo in a pretty toffee almond color that makes it elegant enough to take around for interviews and stuff (the toffee almond color makes a lot of her purses like really pretty, actually, especially because they showcase the fabric itself well). Even though she's not a "big-name" designer, she's getting more popular and a lot of people will stop you and compliment your purse because they're just so pretty!
