LADIES OF MY FLIST:
Is there such a thing as a SEXY and COMFORTABLE shoe? And if so, where can I find one?

I mean something you could go clubbing in and not have blisters on your feet afterwards. I mean something you could dance and do a moderate amount of walking in. I mean something that isn't butt-ugly that'll hide in the back of your closet after one use.

[livejournal.com profile] seeshellirun, I regard you as a maven in this field; any advice? Favorite brands, favorite stores, horror stories?

I have a pair of Bakers boots.... not much of a heel to em but damn comfortable (i can play DDR in them). They hurt after about 8 hours but they're worth it for the fact that sexy and you won't feel pain if you wear them for a few hours.

*preens* Why yes, yes I do!

I suggest Guess shoes for all of the above. Depending upon the style (I have patent leather ankle-strap, peep-toes that I would never wear clubbing because they HURT... but they are by far my sexiest shoes), they are the most comfortable heels I have. I get all my work shoes from them - I've got four pairs ALONE that are just black - a kitten heel, a round-toe and two pointy-toe.

If you have a Marshall's or TJ Maxx - or even Ross (my last resort) - try those. You don't necessarily have to pay $120 on Guess shoes. Three of the black pairs I have I got from Marshall's for under $35.

I have a real high tolerance for pain in my feet because I've always, always worn high heels as my casual shoes. I would recommend Nine West since their shoes always feel so comfy. Either Nine West or Guess. Expect to spend upwards of $80 for a pair though. :/

Surprisingly there are, but I've found that they are pretty dang expensive. I'd estimate you'd generally have to spend safely over $20 for a decent pair. But I think the most important factor is breaking them in. If you're planning on wearing them dancing/clubbing, then I'd recommend wearing them a few times prior. It could just be that your feet are more sensitive. I'm not really sure what to recommend for that though, possibly some good foot cream and massaging your feet? Yeah, just fishing here. lol If you do that, and plan on wearing them only for a few hours, you needn't worry too much. If your doing a boot, maybe consider wearing those thin liner/sock thingies (I can't remember what they're called).

Personally, I'm pretty tolerant after the first couple of wears so I don't generally have this issue after that. Stores I like to shop for shoes at are JCPenney, Shiekh Shoes, Guess and on ocassion, Payless. But the majority of the heels I wear are from India and they are notorious for uncomfortable shoes (well in my books anyway), I just end up not having to wear them for long periods of time.

Btw, the mother of sexy comfort:

Way out of my price range atm though.
