22-year-old "virgin" sells first time to the highest bidder
I first heard about this on KTLA news tonight. I'm honestly shocked.
First off, the girl comes across as one of those photo-whores anyway, not exactly a demure princess whose virginity is intact (but that's just my opinion; the news reports could have picked a better picture of her, but then again, she's probably using the sluttiest images she can find to "sell" herself more).
Second, the only reason why she's getting away with it is because she (and apparently her sister as well) are already connected to the "skin trade" -aka one of the only legal brothels in the nation, in Nevada.
Now, the KTLA report didn't mention how 'Natalie' and her sister got stuck in the trade because of a father that took out student loans in their names. To that, I have this to say to Natalie: FIX YOUR OWN DAMN CREDIT. And report the guy; he committed fraud and you're paying for it. Plus, even if you're ineligible for loans for grad school, what about scholarships? Hell, do you even think grad schools are going to want you now that you're known as "the chick that sold her virginity on the Internet"? (Okay, maybe she's already gotten accepted, but I imagine this causing a negative media backlash, and if Sac State's the one that admitted her, they should rescind the offer. She might be a splendid student, but she's obviously got a lot more to learn about the world.)
She might think she's being innovative, but I think she's not even trying. And doing this probably hints at mental issues-- she's either got a huge ego or has pathetically low self-esteem, to think she has nothing to offer the world and no other way to offset the costs of grad school than to sell her supposed-virginity.
Plus, she says she'll keep accepting bids until she meets someone with whom she has 'chemistry.' Um, I hate to say it Nat, but it AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. The highest bidder who can put you through grad school (and probably give a little bit of fun spending money on the side) isn't going to be Prince Charming. And to be honest, even if said Prince is out there somewhere (and is of course, fabulously wealthy, like all Prince Charmings ought to be), your first time with him shouldn't be because he paid you. That's a fact that's going to color not only any 'relationship' you might have with said guy (with whom you supposedly have chemistry), but his opinion of you. Oh, and the rest of the world, now that you've advertised it so widely. Congrats girl!
Speaking from experience, the first time is not something you can take back, re-do, or forget about it. Plenty of times you'll wish you could, but the cold hard fact remains: you can't. TOUGH SHIT. People don't realize that decisions like these, while supposedly "good at the time" end up being really stupid, and have permanent, lasting consequences. Even if it ends up being a "one-night stand" and pays for your education into hereafter, you'll always remember: "my first time was with some random guy who paid to fuck me."
Remember the line: "Women can fake orgasms, but men can fake entire relationships?" If you're SERIOUSLY a virgin (because again, it makes a difference), what makes you think that anything that comes out of your charming bidder's mouth is worth its weight in dollars? He can lie and be as charming as you want, and you won't know any better. You think you're setting up the whole scenario, but no guy who wants a serious relationship or even just a good fuck will find it worth it to go so far (I'm guessing STD tests, required condom, and the all-important 'chemistry' screening are part of the deal) for a supposed-virgin who can only think to do THIS to pay for her graduate education.
DISGUSTING. Degrading to women, degrading to your own self, Natalie, and I hope you reap what you sow (and I doubt it'll be a fulfilling graduate education; you need some more "real world" education first).
