There was an accident...
Jan. 28th, 2003 08:49 pmMm, school was boring and slow today, as usual. In choir, which, by all rights, should be one of my favorite classes, I kept realizing that I can never seem to wait until it's 8:22, when we get out of class. Maybe it's because Leanne was back again, and kept bragging how she won "Most Talkative" for the senior pop poll. Geezus, I wouldn't WANT to win that. It's NOT a good thing, if you think about it. Maybe someone who has "the gift of gab," but Leanne won that award because SHE NEVER SHUTS UP. All she does is bitch, rant, rave, gossip, and complain. At least when I do any of the above, I'll either have a damn good excuse (and it's usually in writing, which makes up for it... I don't talk people's ears off) or I'm very emotional and I don't mean to. Ugh. But my friend Shawn won "Nicest Eyes" and "Most Creative Dresser," while Sung won "Biggest Drama Queen (King)" and I think Alicia (in my homeroom) won "Best Female Singer," while Eddie Zheng won "Best Male Singer." Karina Jong (also in my homeroom) won "Most Changed since 2000" and Jhalannia (no surprise here) Castaneda won "Best Dressed." Yay us. I nominated Katia for "Most Artistic," but I don't think she won. If anyone nominated me for anything, I'm glad I didn't win. Pop polls are so lame.
After school, I arranged to meet up with Gina (BabyG) and Jeanette to go to the Metreon; thankfully Harry (despite his bad mood) gave us a ride and let both me and Jeanette drop our stuff at home-- and I had a lot because I lugged my entire CD binder to school for the anime club meeting, which was mostly empty. Since Walter stopped coming, a new girl became the treasurer, and tomorrow's the calendar sales date afterschool, when I have to get sale dates (hopefully April 8th and 10th) for Spring Semester. I want to get the sweatshirt idea over and done with it, but with so few people likely to buy it, I might just do it online, instead of trying to get it done through CGshirts.com or anyplace else. But now here's a tight ass though-- what about sweatshirts for everyone in B3? Staff members can get a special logo, but all us RTA regulars should be able to get something cool. Think about how cool it would be to have multicolored thread embroidery making up a DDR arrow and have it point to B3 in some stylish text, with our nickname underneath? Eh, it's all just an idea. I've been thinking a lot in terms of fashion and color.
We went to the Met and I tried to play Cole again in Initial D... but as usual, the seat was so far behind, I couldn't move it any further up, so I'm nearly hunched over the wheel, my arms hella stiff and my hands gripping the wheel like it's some sorta lifeline. Ugh. Racing games just aren't my thing. The question then becomes -do I wanna waste money trying to be like everyone else and wedge in a trend... and possibly become good at something fun and interesting... not to mention one of the few girls who plays the game... or do I want to just save my cash and play DDR or some other Bemani game I enjoy more but am only relatively good at? Hmmm...
Just as I was leaving I ran into Will and someone else... mm, I kinda forgot who... @_@ as I was leaving for my optometry appt. at 4:15. He seemed surprised to see me, and we didn't have a chance to say much-- all I said was something along the lines of "Hello, goodbye, got an appointment... I'll be back though, so wait for me!" and I was off. Mm, I thought maybe he was surprised to see me at all, see me in a good mood, or see me with shorter hair. @_@ Maybe all of the above?
Stupid thing about my appt... I got there around 4:00, the nurse chick let me in at 4:05, and even though she checked me up and that was all said and done by 4:10, the doctor took his sweet time... and I fell asleep in the chair. At 4:30, when I woke up, got pissed and started pacing the office. I finally saw the doctor at 4:40, and my examination took all of 10 minutes, if that. Argh, I was so paranoid that that Will'd leave without me, and I kinda wanted to talk to him... maybe tease him about that evil present I've come up with. [Insert evil laughter here]
Well Amber called me when I was on my way there, as she showed up too... she's doing better, thankfully. I think we're all getting over our colds... or maybe we've all passed it on to someone else? Hehe... Thankfully, they waited for me... Amber seemed so damn happy that I cut my hair, and like everyone else, thought my haircut was uber-cute. We were both sorta squealing and everything, it was nice. It felt like nothing had happened, which was cool, even though I had a hard time with some stuff.
Amber played DDR with me (she paid for me... thank you thank you thank you) and I finally met the "legendary Akito." Mm, Will doesn't like him much... I saw him on the bus... overheard him telling someone that he was a Coast Guard or something... and someone called him on the bus and he told them that he was going to the Met to play DDR. I was stifling laughter at that for some reason, because I guess I had the vision of a guy in uniform (well, a bright orange life jacket and Gilligan's Island outfit) trying to play Max 300. >_> Since I didn't know it was Akito until Amber introduced me, it weirded me out that Amber hugged him for finding one of her pins that she'd dropped near the machine where he was DDRing. @_@ I was like "God, I know she's grateful, but I'd never hug a stranger..." Tee hee hee.
When Will, Amber, and I finally left (I tried to play another game of iD under Will's supervision... I screwed up major on that impossible hairpin turn and ended up getting over 200 km behind stupid Cole) we headed to Jack N the Crack... I wanted to get an Ice Cream, but it was suddenly cold, so I got a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, Fries, and a Coke, all of which I shared with everyone... Yuck, I ate part of the burger, but then the mayonaise flavor really came through and it was like "EEW," and the bacon was undercooked too. I think I'll stick to In-N-Out and McDonalds.
Oh, as for the accident... Amber went home first... I talked with Will for about 10 mins, then the F came and he went home too- he let me keep his cool red sweater, which I guess I'll wear Friday (Red looks good on me anyway ^.~). Too bad we're not taking our group pic then. >_< People are having their Chinese New Year dinners. Makes me kinda wish I had somewhat of a cultural background... and an excuse to a) miss school, b) have illegal fireworks, c) stay out hella late and d) fill myself up like a balloon with food. Mm, so the 31 Balboa came first, but when we got to Masonic, there was this accident, and the bus driver made us get off the bus. It took a good 10 minutes just to manuever around the accident and get to the other side of the bus stop was... from there, I saw that there wasn't really anything blocking the bus from continuing, since the very-crunched Saab was out of the way, and the overhead wires could still be reached. Maybe there was glass on the street I didn't see? Anyway, paramedics and fire engines were everywhere, and later police cars. It seems that a Volkswagen (nice, shiny, and black, too) crunched into an old Saab. The Saab's entire engine block was nothing short of demolished-- it didn't look like there was much of an engine. Thankfully the damn thing didn't explode. Whoever had been in the Saab was now in the ambulance, while the Volkswagen got off nearly scot free, save a completely shattered passenger-side window, which looked like the windows at Urban Outfitters downtown.
Mm, speaking of Urban Outfitters, I could go for a new wardrobe and/or accessories. Spring-y stuff, new pants... and NEW SHOES! I need new shoes! I am so sick of my boots since they are so worn in the heel, and I'm terrified to get caught in something (DDR pads, an escalator...) with my sneakers. @_@ Must... get... Converse! Buffy was a repeat tonight... Smallville's new though, and I think that Lionel Luthor might actually be DEAD! Or at least severly injured... even moreso than blinding, ehehe... ^_^ This should be good. I'll be back around 10ish though to take more quizzes, find out what this LJcut code is, and to get some initialD pics for Will's layout.
Must make new layouts for myself, too. *zzz* Damn, but I'm tired. I'm so glad tomorrow's a late schedule. No school till 9:30a!!

Only using the < and > things instead of brackets. Blah. XD
Don't worry, you'll beat Cole. =D
I'm confused...
Date: 2003-01-28 10:45 pm (UTC)I don't understand LJ code-- how do you know all this?
Tasukete~~~
Re: I'm confused...
Date: 2003-01-29 05:31 am (UTC)I know all the codes pretty well because I've been messing around with them since Dead Journal (July 2001), and they're basically the same. XD
Mm, okay then...

Date: 2003-01-28 10:59 pm (UTC)Anyway, on to my response.
I always found Pop polls pointless, same as Student Government and everything else in High School, nothing more than a popularity contest. That's why I didn't give a shit about anything in High School other than RO, that was one of the few things left fairly untainted by the masses.
The sweater idea is old, Jeremy thought it up a long time ago, dunno what's going to happen with it, don't really care. I don't think we should be wasting money on anything other than ID cards for B3 staff. And sweatshirts for just RTA goers is a stupid idea, makes us look like a "crew" basically in my opinion, elitists, alienating everyone else from our littler group so we'd stand out more. Blah, I'd rather we not do that, perhaps a sweater for everyone who participates in the tournament, but that falls under my first comment, wasting money.
Don't bother wasting money on Initial D, play something you enjoy playing. Don't play a game just to be trendy and fit in, if you do, you'll be no better than the rest of the uneducated members of your age group.
-.-
Date: 2003-01-29 12:13 pm (UTC)As for RO being untainted, it must have only been at your school. -.-
But yeah.
