Dum(b) Dum(b) Dum(b) Dum(b)!
May. 23rd, 2008 10:17 pmIt's good to be back in Northridge, if even for a short time, before I head up north to San Jose/Santa Cruz for cousin Shaina's wedding. I'm hoping everything goes off without a hitch, but news of rampant wildfires in the area does not bode well.
However, I am dumb.
I somehow managed to lose one pearl earring on the way here... though admittedly, it could be sitting on my bed back in Anaheim, waiting. However, it's just as likely that, because I didn't have my jewelry box rubber-banded shut, it fell out of the box, into the lining of my suitcase, and out said suitcase during a) the journey from room to garage b) in the backseat of Michelle's car, c) on the sidewalk in front of the Amtrak station or d) on the train itself. None of them present a very nice scenario, and all make me feel LOUSY, because I actually liked those pearl earrings, and what good is just one? I feel doubly bad because the set was a gift-- actually MEANT for me, not a hand-me-down like a lot of my other "jewels." I honestly hope I find the missing one, else... I don't know, can you buy just one pearl earring from somewhere?
To top it off, though I placed my cosmetics and other toiletries aside for the trip to Northridge and then to San Jose/Santa Cruz, I neglected to place said items in my suitcase (which was mostly empty, so I could fill it with Things I Forgot In Northridge, like my bathmat. So, I'm without any of my medicines (which sucked when I tried to lift my supposedly-lightweight -since it was MOSTLY empty and all- suitcase into the overhead bin on the train and strained my back liek whoa), my brush (all I've got is a folding one), etc. etc. I'm working with leftovers and travel-sized ones from here, which is not a lot, let alone my preferred brand(s).
Gah! Why am I so forgetful?
