It's nearly 6am (I'm NEVER up this early), I'm tired, cold, and I had a weird dream, but thankfully not a scary or grossly weird dream, just an out-of-place dream.
I just wrote down "note-style" snippets that I remembered, and frankly, I don't feel like converting them into anything prolific.
-high school + middle school reunion of sorts... thought I saw Ms. Kline
-had to get my "class registration" which I lied about having, since I figured my ID was enough.
-was in a rush to get downstairs, so I just grabbed some random bag (belonging to "Steven Yowwie," who doesn't exist, but a Yowie is the fiend I was trying to capture in the Sunken Cave in FFX)-- it was a red wheeling suitcase. Steven ended up being a Steven I recognized from school ANYWAY (can't remember his real last name though, but he was in at least one of the plays, afaik) and was glad to have his bag right away. Either I didn't have a bag, Steven coincidentally ended up with mine, or something else.
-We had to go down an escalator (!) to get to the lobby of the school (which looked like Wash)
-We were supposed to be divided by class status (grade/year) or homeroom, but people just ended up hanging in their cliques, anyway. I remember meeting up with Amy Wong, Stephanie, and at least a few other people from throughout the years.
-We had to sit on the floor, which I thought was weird-- it seemed to be an expanded lobby of Wash. We watched some weird Hayao Miyazaki-esque movie that involved two friends that seemed to be lost in a forest... one of the "sponsors" of the reunion was this gas company or something that none of us really liked, and they had some sort of a role in the movie (as the bad guy, of course). The villain personified was this chubby red-headed guy with weird glasses who, in retrospect, reminds me of the evil doctor from Sonic the Hedgehog. But he bore a scary resemblance to the sponsor/teacher (not that I remember having any chubby male redheaded teachers in MS or HS).
-Note: the girls were wearing yellow dresses without any patterns, and had vermillion (orange-red) cropped jackets on, with 3/4 sleeves. The heroine seemed like a female version of Howl (from Howl's Moving Castle), with either red or blonde hair, I can't remember which.
-One of the girls caught on fire (!) because of the gas somehow, and her friend had to run away-- she herself caught on fire but was able to take the clothes that caught on fire (like an overcoat or petticoat sort of thing) off-- but then a PIECE of her friend was stuck to her and was still on fire, and she had to go to this waterfall to get it off. She got the fire off, but then the villain appeared above her, sitting on a rock, looking all pretend-worried and very perverted-- he noticed the fragment of a melted arm still on her, and he licked his lips and mentioned something about wire... he made a very blatant innuendo which had me (in the audience) totally disgusted, so I started booing, which no one else had done (out of supposed maturity, respect... what?) The girl ended up escaping anyway, but when the movie ended, no one clapped for the sponsor/teacher who the villain was obviously based off of, and it got pretty uncomfortable there.
-I remember various other things (possibly related to the showing of the movie) where people were being oddly quiet despite being uncomfortable- one of my friends was a bit embarrassed (for some reason, I think it was Katia) that I was being so loud, and I just explained to her it wasn't in me to not speak up when I wanted to, and that if no one else was going to be loud (with me?) that was fine by me-- it was my personality in the first place. So I was loud, and eventually people started joining in, and I remember being happy because it felt like a proper MS/HS reunion, not some bizarre adults meeting and feeling uncomfortable thing (even though that sounds more like a reunion to my semi-awake brain).
Besides that, my right wisdom tooth is hurting. Either it's "really good" (sarcastic) timing, considering I'm scheduled to get my teeth out on the 24th (DAY AFTER SCHOOL STARTS!!! AUGH!), or it's psychological, and if the latter, I'm hoping to distract myself enough today to not think about how weird it feels (and how it hurts). It feels like I have a Skittle stuck in the upper right corner of my mouth.
For those of you that have already had your wisdom teeth out, what did you eat in the days afterward? I was thinking yogurt will probably be safe, but I'm one of those people who doesn't like to eat the same thing too many times in a given period, so I need a bit more of a variety. Okay, yogurt, oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, soup... any other suggestions?
I have 10 more icon slots available, and every now and again, I find myself saying, "I need icons from Z fandom!" and then I promptly forget what those fandoms are. But right now, I totally want to make some for the Secret Society Girl books! :D I already have a few for Meg Cabot's "The Mediator" series on
azurite (formerly known as Delishidoodle), so maybe I should finish them up and make a whole big collection of book-inspired icons!
I have yet to hear back from the book publisher whose internship got me all excited-- basically, I want to know what the positions I was interested in entailed, and who to address my cover letter to. The deadline is August 31, so assuming they don't get back to me but I still want to make deadline, does anyone have any suggestions for what to say in my cover letter, or how to find the hiring manager's name (or address the cover letter some other way besides "To whom it may concern" or "Dear Sir/Madam")? I'd appreciate any help I could get...
Possibly going to hang out with Shawn (squee?) later today; maybe the Bourne Supremacy will be back at Blockbuster? That and I want to play more FFX, since I have many more fiends to capture, weapons to customize, and Gil to get. :D
