Okay, gotta rant

Has anyone seen the new Emma Bag (apparently named after Emma Roberts, a.k.a. the girl who thinks she can play Nancy Drew) from Dooney and Burke yet? Let me tell you in advance if you haven't: EEW. It looks like a freaking sausage. And not the delicious kind you might have a watery mouth over. Think more like, one of those sausages you see rolling in its own grease on some movie theatre's warmers.
I can't believe they hyped about it so much only to produce something so bland and horribly shaped.
Next-- GRRGH! Against wallpaper. Fuck this, if I ever own my own house, it will be PAINTED. Every damn room, painted. Bright colors. In the meantime, I'm stuck in this pink room with flowered wallpaper. Does anyone have suggestions for hanging posters on wallpaper OTHER than putting MORE holes in my walls with nails/screws/pushpins/thumbtacks/similar?
Uhm... that is all. (I've already posted too much for a supposed sick-but-working-on-my-room day, haven't I?)

Date: 2007-06-22 11:44 pm (UTC)Choose one wall that's particularly a free-space. Get some long b & w posters of your choice (I've seen this done with Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn glamour shots; you can find them at almost any Walmart, even) and measure out 3 pieces of hot-pink (or whatever colour you think would be complimentary to the type of pink you have on your walls) bristol board that is the same length as the posters. Tack on the posters on the wall with one pink bristol board piece seperating them in the middle and then one on either side of each poster.
I wish I could provide a photo as an example, but regardless, I hope this at least inspires you with some sort of idea. I find that what really off-sets pink (if that's what you're really against) is lots of greeny, leafy plants :)
Or, you know, you can just work with the stupid wall paper and play up the girly factor anyway.
Good luck!
