I'm so uncreative with my subject lines sometimes. But at least I don't use my horrid subjects for fanfic titles, eh?

You know, it's one thing to dream about fantasies (things too impossibly good to ever happen), weird stuff (giant robots), and so on, but to dream about something that I wish beyond all reason could happen but won't (but it's not a fantasy in the way of meeting Johnny Depp or dream!sex with some hot guy)... that just hurts.

I dreamed my sister was alive again. Not that she'd never died-- which was weird. It was like she'd come back to life. I remember sitting at a table with her and Mom, and Mom was acting a bit awkward-- looking down, not really at Michelle, seeming kind of uncomfortable. I don't have the faintest idea why. I remember asking Michelle all these questions about "what it was like," and she said something like being dead was sort of like being asleep-- she didn't remember anything about the time that had passed, and she looked the same way as she did when she died-- short, blonde-ish red hair, tall, athletic frame...

Anyway, I seemed determined to prove that things could go back to normal, and I remember turning on the TV and seeing that Sailor Moon was on (!) and I was surprised to find that it was playing an episode from SuperS (complete with whiny dub actress). I said "they're playing SuperS already?" but that felt more like it should have been Michelle's line. Not only would I be well-aware of SuperS (since I've seen it already), but I was aware when it was on TV, and what channel-- and let me tell you, Mom doesn't have cable, and Cartoon Network was the only station showing Sailor Moon after the R season ended. Maybe I was just saying it (even though I already KNEW it) to make things feel more normal, like they'd been back then?

It was awkward and a bit sad, and the dream had no real ending. It just sort of faded away.

I got to thinking about celebrities a bit last night, and just now, looking for last summer's entries for [livejournal.com profile] azhp, I found that silly fantasy I had of meeting Johnny Depp. So here's an odd meme of sorts all about celebrities. Take a starlet, pass 'em on.
Love 'Em
Celebrity I Respect The Most - Angelina Jolie. With all her star power, she's more well-known for being such a giving, generous person, and from what I hear, an absolutely amazing mother. The fact that she's willing to give her time, money, and energy to support countries that are really in need shows she's not as vapid as some of her co-stars.

Celebrity I Would Most Like To Be Like - Jennifer Garner. She strikes me as the most "normal" celebrity out there, with no particularly special upbringing or circumstances-- she's pretty but was a geek, and has managed to come so far (and landed one of the hottest guys in Hollywood as her husband). She's got a great personality, a wonderful body, a fabulous smile-- there's really nothing NOT to like about her.

Celebrity Whose Looks I Wish I Had - Anne Hathaway. She's probably one of the few celebrities I can say I VAGUELY resemble, but I wish I looked MORE like her-- I would love to have her brilliant smile, perfectly-shaped eyes, and gorgeous hair. She's got a nice figure, too.

Celebrity Who's Got Serious Sex Appeal - Tyra Banks. And she's intelligent and outspoken, too! But the fact is, unlike so many other models, she doesn't need makeup or special clothes to give you a smoldering look. With her, it's built in! The fact that she's not just some pin-up girl makes it even better. She's incredibly admirable.

Celebrity I'd Do If I Had The Chance (Regardless of marital status, sexual orientation, age, etc.) - Probably Ty Pennington (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition). But then again, Orlando Bloom's so hot...

Other Hotties, Including Those That I'll Probably Like More When I'm Older - Edward Norton, Hugh Jackman, Breckin Mayer, Ewan MacGregor, Steve Martin, John Cusack, Denzel Washington...

Celebrity I'd Love To Interview and would Probably Giggle Insanely While Doing So - Christian Bale or Johnny Depp, hands down. I mean, they're fantastic actors and I'd love to actually talk to them about real stuff, but they're so SO HOT, so it would be hard to concentrate. Really.

Celebrity I Could Interview and Take Seriously - George Lucas. Or Steven Spielberg. Or Kenneth Branagh. Actually, there are a number of actors/directors/screenwriters that I admire for things beyond their looks-- more like the work they've done, and the power they have. So I'd definitely love to have the chance. And possibly an idea what to talk to them about, since I'd feel so small compared to them.

Celebrity Who Strikes Me As The Most Real-To-Life - Denise Richards. When I first saw her in "Starship Troopers," I went from liking her to hating her to liking her at the very end. And with the recent brou-ha-ha over her and her ex-boyfriend and the fallout she had with Heather Locklear, she strikes me as an amazing woman with real staying-power. I don't know too many celebrities who can always smile in the face of some pretty mean headlines.

Also Sarah Jessica-Parker, and I'm saying that for more beyond "Sex and the City." To design a line of stylish clothes with everything under $20 speaks a lot for a celeb that can afford -and probably buys- much more expensive clothing. But to remember your roots no matter how far you've come shows real respect. Ironically, Oprah Winfrey has also come really far, but she justifies her extravagant purchases because she feels like she's deserved it after how far she's come. At first, that bothered me, but with all she's doing for girls in South Africa, I think she's making up for it and not forgetting those who are still not as lucky as her.

Celebrities That I Like (And It May Surprise You) - Jessica Simpson and Carmen Electra. The former is a really good designer (of course, I'm not sure if she's just a pretty face behind her yummy-scented makeup and her gorgeous shoes and hair extensions), and the latter is beautiful, funny, and downright cute. I wish more people took them seriously, but I also wish there was more out there to show that THEY take THEMSELVES seriously.

Other Kick-Ass Celebs I Like - Lucy Liu, Ellen DeGeneres, Sarah Brightman, Hikaru Utada, Michael Keaton, Kevin Costner (to a degree) many more I may accidentally be forgetting.

Leave 'Em

Celebrity That Needs Good Time Away From The Spotlight (including Hollywood, film sets, recording studios, etc.) - Lindsay Lohan. Seriously girl, stay away. Just go home, don't think about hair color changes, cool cars, or parties in the Hollywood Hills. She was great when she was younger, but now she's just spiraling downward. I think she has a ton of potential, if she can just control herself and not be a spoiled brat.

Celebrity That Is Contributing Nothing to Society and/or the Human Gene Pool - Paris Hilton. Once upon a time, didn't hotel heiresses just stay out of the spotlight? But little Miss Hilton has gone and "authored" a book, starred in TOO many "TV shows" (put in quotes for good reason), and of course, gotten herself arrested. I can't really think of anything beneficial she's done at all, for anyone. Then again, if she has, maybe it wasn't in the spotlight long enough to matter-- she just immediately does something stupid to cover up any good she might do.

Celebrity I'd Like To Get The REAL Story On Because S/He Seems Like Such A Loony From All The Media - Tom Cruise. Need I say more?

I think it's a good sign that there are more celebrities that I like than ones I dislike. While I'm far from being a fangirl (the only poster of any celeb I ever had up in my room was Jonathan Taylor-Thomas when I was about 11, and that was only because my dad thought I was weird for NOT having one), I do think it's cool that I can look beyond the glitz and glamour and try to see the real people under there... assuming there are any. :D

I removed the Infobox templates and ParserFunction extension from WikiFic, so now you can add articles again. In all honesty, I need help. If the show's airing on repeats, I haven't noticed it (then again, I hardly watch TV that isn't Food Network), so could some people more on the up-and-up help me with articles, such as those about Thief King Bakura, the TCG, and so on? It would really help! :D

I called Kaiser again, was on hold for nearly 15 minutes before I got to speak to someone. And even then, it was the same thing-- doctor's not available, I'll leave a message. Maybe he'll call back (yeah right). Why can't the results be automated or something? Admittedly, I can respect the possibility of getting bad news from a live person being easier to take than a faceless, nameless robot voice, but still, the suspense is... well, maybe not killing me, but maybe it is!
