azuriteWTF. PGSM just took a turn for the worse in my opinion. Episode 40 completely screwballs what I've come to know and love as Aino Minako's character. True, PGSM gives her a whole new story and spotlight-- she's a real idol, not just a wannabe, and she's not just an Usagi-Queen-of-the-Klutzes clone, either. But... *scratches head* I mean, I already know what happens to her in the end, but still, it's just... wrong to have her act this way. What happened to determination? On that note, if she did decide to quit being Minako Aino and be only Sailor Venus, wouldn't she have done it for the warped reason of destroying Usagi's hope and motivation to get Mamoru back? (Mamoru's an ass for what he's done lately too, but at least that's somewhat canon!) Remember, Usagi said that Minako's songs give her hope to remember him, and to not believe in the destiny that everyone thinks is set for her.
I like the alternative form of events the live-action presents; Serenity and Metallia having the same power. It's a bit much to believe that Serenity, little Princess of the Moon, could just scream Endymion's name and decimate both the Moon Kingdom and Earth, though. Surely Metallia had something to do with it. On that note, we still don't know who stabbed Endymion in the first place, and if Princess Sailor Moon is some major ass kicker when it comes to Endymion (that is, kicking anyone's ass that isn't Endymion), then why the heck didn't she go into a psychotic rage against whoever did the whole stabby-stabby on Endy in the first place? Why scream and then destroy everything, including herself? And on that note, how would her grief extend to sealing away Beryl (if Beryl was even sealed away; if not, WTF didn't she take over the world, revive Metallia with energy, etc.?) and all the memories of everyone involved? The Senshi didn't even get to die in glorious battle, like the Shittenou did!
But still. WTF.
Speaking of the PGSM episodes in general, I burned them all to CD a long time ago. I never recall having to use the xVid codec, but I have it on my computer now... though for some stupid reason, xVids still won't play in DivX, despite having the codec. And in WinAmp and Media Player both, there are short bits of every episode (since about 32 onward) that get all blurry and pixellated. Anyone know what's up and how to fix this-- or is the file just corrupt?
Oh yeah, and Okami-san from Hana Yori Dango is Ikuko-mama! Why the heck didn't I notice it until now? (Rhetorical question: I was watching them out of sync, plus Ikuko-mama is a redhead, while Okami-san has black hair.) I LOVE this new Ikuko-mama! She and Okami-san are so BIZARRE! :D
Princess Sailor Moon = Princess of Mayhem. She takes the place of the original series' Sailor Saturn. Anyone that's watched the series up to this point doesn't need to guess why.
The black youmas with the flowy capes and white scarves? So totally recycled Putties from the Power Rangers (forgot the Japanese name) series. Only instead of going "blubbitiblubbiti" they go "Ahhhhhoooooohhuuuughhhh..."
Speaking of sounds and voices, when Usagi goes Princess Sailor Moon, she really sounds like a different person. But is it like her actress doing an accent and using formal Japanese, or is it someone else's voice dubbed over?
Finally, wtf is up with Mio? I mean, I hate her, but... what/who is she?
