Milk drinkers are turning to powder
Apr. 24th, 2003 04:08 amI'm pulling an all-nighter again, and that's because tomorrow's a modified B-schedule. I don't have to go to class until 10:16 or so, when 2nd period starts. But I have a 7th tomorrow -choir rehearsal- since there's no 1st period. Bah. We're leaving for Anaheim in a day, and I haven't even packed. And I have to be at school at 5:45am, which means waking up at 4:00, since I'd want an hour to make sure I had everything, eat, get dressed... and I'd have to leave no later than 5:15am. The bus leaves at 6:00am, and we get to Anaheim by 2:00pm, roughly. That can't be right though, since that's only 8 hours, and the ride, including stops at restaurants, is supposed to be 10-12 hours. Whatever. I'll be sleeping on the bus, I know that much. I just hope I don't sit next to someone annoying. Maybe I can sit by myself or something. Blah.
Rehearsals are finally over for the week-- Ishibashi was great abotu everything too, and we zoomed through all the walking, even in the football field. Unfortunately, my homeroom wasn't one of the five deemed worthy enough to get "points" for good behavior- instead, it was all the homerooms with people I hate in them. And the people I hate were representatives. BLAH! Ishibashi made them go on stage and do "tricks" to get points. One was to walk around with a pole balanced on their chin, another was to try blowing a raspberry (without your tongue) for as long as possible. *snicker* My nemesis, Chris Lie, refused to do the blowing thing, and when people booed him, he flipped them off. He's so immature, but he's such a dork for not having a sense of humor and just playing around. Regardless, his homeroom got the In-N-Out certificates. *sniff* I want free cheeseburgers!
Afterwards, I talked with Rochelle about Anaheim... we ended up getting picked up by her mom and going out for lunch at Keitaro. Joe had told me in advance that he'd probably be late in coming to pick me up from school, so I just called him from the restaurant (I'd already called him from school and left a message; stupid Mr. Davis was nagging me about using my cell phone in the school, even though I was out of rehearsal and was just waiting for Rochelle in the principal's office). Yumm, tenpura... we talked a lot in the restaurant, and it turned out Richard and Jason Chue (and probably someone else I'm forgetting) were there, as well as Ali and his girlfriend and their crew. A pretty Eagle-packed restaurant, to be perfectly honest. Rochelle's mom misplaced her earring when we got back to the parking lot, and we spent about 15 minutes looking for the damn thing when it ended up being found stuck to the car door! -.- What luck.

VIOLET represents the seventh and highest quality a person attains
- noble spiritual aspiration. Its planet is Jupiter, rules the metal tin and the jewel Sapphire. In its medical action it approaches the realm of ultraviolet. It cools the nerves, is magnetic and antiseptic. Purple and violet speak of honor, spirituality and self-esteem.
Rochelle and her mom came into the house, since her mom had to use the bathroom; I let Rochelle borrow all my Inuyasha CDs (I only have up to 73 now anyway, I need up to... well, whatever's current. I think that's 110 or so by now) while her mom asked me about the candy I had-- was it fresh? You know me, I leave Christmas-old chocolates and mints lying around everywhere. Haha, when Joe showed up, Rochelle answered the door, and I was half-expecting him to be terrified. But I'd told Rochelle (finally) that we were going out again, and she just sort of gave me this Look and said, "It's your life." I suppose if I want to tell her everything, it'll wait till Anaheim. I don't know though, maybe Disneyland will bore me! There's always the pool and the fitness centers, but with my back... gah. I hope rollercoastering won't kill me or anything.
Today's been a pretty damn good day, in the long run. Well, minus the following:
-Kinokuniya didn't have Hinata 120%, the manga I'm scanlating with Sakisorou. I placed an order for #2, which should arrive in 3-4 weeks... and there's no extra charge. YAY.
-Didn't get a crepe-- I was pretty full. But now that I think about it, I could have used something sweet and fruity.
-Went to the card store, but didn't buy anything. Joe constructs my deck anyways, since I'm so rusty on everything.
-Joe and I split up right after that, since I had to go drop of my dress for dry cleaning, go downtown, etc.
-Red velvet at Britex fabrics is $29.99/yard! YIKES! At that price, I *will* go to the Haight! Does anyone want to come with me? Or can anyone help me navigate that place... I only know about three blocks in the Haight decently.
-Loehmann's doesn't have prom dresses worth SHIET! I've been there before, actually, and all the dresses they have, while formal, are for, shall we say "older women" and even the ones marked XS fall right off me! Nicole's, here I come!
The good parts:
-I got a bit farther on my scanlating for Hinata. It's harder than I thought it would be, and my Japanese is pretty rusty. Translating, using only an online dictionary and my foreknowledge from class, is difficult. Some words just refuse to be defined, and then there's all that 'pera pera,' or sound effects that are words in and of themselves, but are really just onomatopoeia...! I asked Himiko to extend my deadline until Tuesday. That should be good... I hope.
-Joe and I took new "NeoPrints" or PuriKura or whatever you want to call them. We used the Model 2001 machine and took all these cute ones with flowery themes. I kind of wanted the anime one (they had one with Suzaku and Chichiri!) but the other ones in that set looked pretty weird. The pictures didn't come out pre-cut, but the images themselves are pretty cute.
-My dress should be ready to pick up tomorrow afternoon after school. Maybe I can get a crepe, since I still have the $10 Aaron gave me as a birthday present. And it's blessed good luck money too. =}
The cherry on my cake is that I got a hoarde of reviews for fanfics that I've written-- people are really encouraging me to get back into my groove and start writing again. One of the best emails I've gotten in a long time, by far, came from Rain. She wrote these absolutely adorable and romantic Ranma fics, "The Morning After," and its prequel, "The Night Before." I reviewed her, of course, and she sent me a huge email back waxing eloquent about a whole LOAD of *my* Ranma fics! She even quoted something I said from my fics! *swoon* I love this feeling-- it's why I love writing. That someone's heard me, someone understands me, someone gets the message, feels the emotion, knows the story! ^_^ It's fantastic. People like my Full Moon o Sagashite unfinished fic, "Paradox," as well as my original fiction, "Wandering Spirit." I'M IN GOOD SPIRITS! This is great. I want to devote a bunch of time to just park myself in front of the computer and write.
But it's late. And mom will wake up soon, I just know it. I better go to sleep before my stomach eats me whole.
