Okay, so it turns out that:
a) I have to finish up all my online courses at DriversEdDirect.com before I can take any behind-the-wheel courses
b) I can't get a license without first getting a permit, which I have to take a written exam for... which is likely going to be based on everything I learn when I finish the online courses.
So I have to finish all my online lessons before I can do ANYTHING. X_X more studying. Ugh.

But damn it all, I AM GOING TO HAVE MY LICENSE BY DECEMBER 31st!!!!

Now, before I head off to Mythology class today, I would like to say:
(1) I mourn for Alicia Blade. I really do. Maybe it was my age, my mind-set, or some internal Fangirl Gene that made me adore her, but... this newest fic of hers leaves me in an absolute stupor. IT SUCKS. It could be worse, granted, but I find it very hard to compare it to her older works (not that I've read any lately, so I'm really comparing it to what I remember, on the assumption that they're still good and I wasn't imagining things) and not cringe. I wish I could be the honest reviewer who doesn't use a Swedish Ego Enlarger on her, but something in me doesn't want to be the brat of the SM fandom, all over again. ^^;

(2) I am in need of some damn good hentais. Het, please, because I'm going to take my first baby steps into writing more "adult" fanfic. Violence, language, and angst I've got down- and kitesareevil, do you remember when I thought I couldn't write angst to save my life? *grins* Well, I think I'm pretty good at it now... *cough* Anyway, so I figure, I'll practice what I preach and do some research. I know there are steamy/lemony fics out there that I enjoyed, but now I want to re-read them and find out WHY I enjoyed them, so I can try that style for myself.

I'd especially love any lemons (or as we used to call them way the hell back when "sekkushuru romans" a term which made me think of very long white candles) from the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom. Jounouchi x Mai, Yuugi x Anzu, whatever. Seto x Anzu would best, since that IS the pairing I'm writing for... *smirks* Atlantis, Kysra? Be aware, I'm going to assault your Memories and be doing intensive research on this subject.

World, watch out-- here I come! Bwahaha.

And yes, I DO remember that because I had a similar problem. I remember that I was fueding with 50% of SMRFFdom about if I could write it or not. Hehe...*hangs the TAFF banner*

Congratulations!

I just took my own first steps into writing mature fanfic as well. It was something I wanted to conquer. The result was "Something More" and the mature scene is in the very last chapter. The fandom is Slayers and the pairing Lina/Gourry, but I'm not sure you're into that. It's on AFF. Looking back at it, I may revise it to have it be longer. I'm still sort of squeamish about writing it. I've got a second Lina/Gourry lemon in the works that I hope will turn out better in my eyes.

If you like Inuyasha, I have a couple of Inuyasha/Kagome lemons that are simply awesome I could recommend to you.

Not in the Slayers fandom at all (I know who Zelgadis and Lina are, that's it), but I was active in the IY fandom, which is why I was able to nitpick about Sueric so much.

I've read most of Ookami's infamous IYxK fic "Turnabout is Fair Play," but I'm not sure if she ever finished it. And I know Urdchan has "Temple of the Dog," but I never got around to reading it. If you have any other recs, send them my way.

First of all, congrats on deciding to go "mature." It was a big step for me but the challenge of writing in an entirely new field is exhilarating. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask, though I certainly don't consider myself an expert.

Yes, yes I'm done. Hentais? Moi? I have no idea what you're talking about. *begins shoving stashes under bed* I don't think I have any of the YGO variety, but I have plenty of others, particularly in Inuyasha. If you're looking for references, it doesn't really matter what fandom they are. IY is actually where I've gotten most of my own inspiration because YGO is so lacking. However *roots around in favorites* if you're looking for anything with YGO characters, then I have several steamier sides of Sears you may want to look at (mainly Yami/Anzu pairings):

Secret Indulgences by twilight eyes 8120 - Seto/Tea
Kiss Me Quickly by fazy (burned me! HOT!) - Yami/Tea with only one scene that totally squicked me. If you read it, you'll know what I mean.
And a lemon by Quickening that many criticize but that I really enjoyed, if only for the characterization, which can be found at http://www.geocities.com/quickeningheart/Yugioh.html - there's the first and then the sequel which has the lemon. Now that I think about it, you may have been one of the people who called it a menage a trois... just can't remember. Yami/Anzu with Yugi being present spiritually/mentally.

By the by, did you ever get DF and such up and running again? I need to update my links but I don't know where, or if I even can at this time.

As for my own steam, you know where to find it. Also, I have a bunch of recs over at my ADF profile, which is at http://adultfan.nexcess.net/aff/authors.php?no=21644 - sorry I didn't direct link, I'm just feeling too lazy at the moment. My highest recommendation right now, if you're just looking to get a feel for explicit content would be the Fullmetal Alchemist fics in my rec pile. Good Lord those things get you going! *fans herself* I've gotten more than a few ideas from them myself.

Ah... I had a feeling this post might come back to bite me in the ass. (And to be completely honest, I probably thought that you'd never stumble across my LJ, mainly because you were the fandom star back when I was just a n00b.)

If I remember correctly, the fic in question may very well have been a completely cheesy parody but I didn't take it with the necessary grain of salt. I believe it was with a self-insert who acted as Cupid. ^^;
