Okay, so this Dear Diary layout simply isn't doing it for me. I've tried adding customizations, tweaking the layers, anything, everything, but the 4 simple things I wanted to change are apparently un-tweakable or invisible or written in Greek.

[livejournal.com profile] mklutz, didn't you do free layouts for Laz? *puppy eyes* If not, anyone want to recommend me to some places with layouts-- preferably with mostly-hassle free setup? (Free is always best, too, considering I already paid $150 for the damn Permanent Account). So far, I haven't found any pre-made ones I like-- mainly because most of them claim to be layouts when all they are is a simple user icon, a header image, and some color adjustments. THAT, anyone could do with little to no code over riding. I'm talking about full-fledged layouts with CSS and DIV HTML (which I have yet to understand). And what if I have a nice layout that I want to use-- how do I convert it for use to LJ? Come on people, help me out here? *wails* I'm a lost l'il kitty...

In a nutshell:
* Where to get pre-made LJ layouts (code and images)
* Where to get instructions on converting existing layouts to livejournal
* Where to get instructions on how to make your own layouts (code and images) for LJ, whether S1 or S2.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] shadow_reality: YOU. GO HERE. NOW. Thank me later. :)

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] guardian_kysra, how do you use Deviant Art? I'm a bit lost with all the buttons and areas and... well, help? Anyone?

I'm kind of bored and lost and feeling rather uncreative right now --be it fics, layouts, or even icons. ;_; Alas! Tomorrow I get to go B2S shopping. Now I oughta clean my room. :P

I usually make the base image/html and then anna does the LJ-coding (since I don't know how to do that), but Anna also makes layouts... If you can convince her, I can make you one. Or, Chibi just did her own by hand. O_O You could talk to her?

Hhhhmmmm . . . ok, I'm not an expert since . . . I think I've only deviated from the same sting of options twice XD But, ok, say you're submitting a deviation (i.e. complete piece) and . . . I'll use myself as an example -- I only use pencil so I'll go Deviation, Traditional (since I'm using traditional materials like pencil, crayon, paint, etc.), next I'll choose Drawing cuz . . . that's what all my junk is XD, if its an anime fanart I'd have to choose Fanart but if it was my own character drawn in anime style I'd choose Anime. I can't really say anything about the other options since I've never used them; however, I DID - when I first started submitting - go through each and every option to figure out what each one entailed. I'm not sure what you have up your sleeve artwise, but I'm assuming you'd put a lot under Digital though you do have the option of putting it under Traditional if it was first drawn by hand then colored or improved digitally.

I hope that helped a little. If you have a specific artwork you're having trouble classifying, I'd be happy to help figure it out ^_^
