Okay, so it's not like I'm having an emotional or mental breakdown or whatever, but it IS quite hard to deal with this. I appreciate all of the advice, whether I end up listening to it or not (^^;;...). I'm really surprised by how many people stepped forward with words of encouragement or ... other stuff. ^^; Even my aunts and uncles liked to add their two cents (more like fifty cents, really) and I'm sort of stuck with this: "It's my decision." I mean, everyone says different things. Dan contradicts his girlfriend Joanne, and David contradicts Neko, and... well, I'll do what I feel is right when things progress more.

Yeah, I haven't heard or seen any of Scott in the past two days, and needless to say it's got me a bit unnerved and sad. I keep wondering about various things-- is he thinking of/missing me? Was/is there another girl? When I finally do get a chance to talk with him (hopefully face-to-face) what will I ask? I kind of know why he broke up with me, but not why he thought he had to give up. Maybe it's my fault for posing an ultimatum when that wasn't what I intended to do. But I did see things as "give up or keep trying" because honestly, what other option is there for relationships in trouble? Let them stagnate as they are, like a piece of bread getting moldy? And then are the questions that I might not want to know the answers to-- does he still love me, are we still going to be friends, can we still hang out every once in a while? I'm sorry if everyone thinks this'll make things worse before it makes them better, but I can't possibly just cut him out of my life altogether and try and suddenly be single and move on. I love him, period, end of story.

Anyway, I need help with something else. This whole thing is sucking away my time and mental energy, so I'd like to ask anyone willing and able to please help me moderate the various communities I own, namely [livejournal.com profile] 30kisses ([livejournal.com profile] shadow_reality, weren't you my co-mod?). Mamono's covering offtopicon, and I haven't even officially opened ygo_icontests yet, so... that's okay. And I can keep putting off lyricwheel... still, I'd like any help you could give.

Does anyone have any good movies to recommend to me? You know, things that won't keep reminding me of Scott and what's happened at every third left turn? I mean, I can go shopping and all tomorrow, but for the next several weeks, I'd like something to distract me besides FFIX and work.

Oh, with the domain name thing... I'm still thinking. My primary choice sounds too darn cute for me, and I want something with a touch of sophistication... Mamono? *pokes*

And I'm serious about adopting a kitten. Someone point me in the right direction-- what do I do, where do I go, what do I need? I want a kitty.

Evening
The time of day that best describes your
personality is Evening.  You are a quiet, shy
person with a very kind disposition.  You are
also quite intelligent, mostly because you love
to read.  You are open-minded and your social
circle probably consists mostly of other
intelligent people who share similar interests
with you.  You dont particularly care for big,
noisy parties full of strangers, but you do
enjoy an occasional get-together with your
pals.

brought to you by Quizilla

Quizilla's new look is a bit weird. And this quiz-- like so many others has at least two annoying questions that have nothing to do with the quiz at hand. I hate quizzes like that, or ones where you can tell what result relates to the question.

For example, if I were to make a "Which Harry Potter character are you?" quiz, I would NOT use the question "What is your past-time?" and have answers like "Quidditch" (Harry) "Reading/Studying" (Hermione) and so on... I mean, it's OBVIOUS!

any good movie recommendations? If you want to go to a theatre, see " Hustle and Flow"...its a good story, doesnt necessairly glorify rap or pimps. As for DVD, the last thing I saw was " MIllion Dollar Baby" which is a good movie if you havent already seen it.

You should totally make a harry potter quiz...id love to see you what you come up with. As for adopting a kitty, remember they'll be with you for long time. I'd go to my local SPCA/animal center. They'd be the most likely to help you. If you were in SF, I would be able to point you to some good rescue groups!

I wish you were here for my bday get together!!! Miss you already!!

I'm not going to offer you advice on the break up, but known I support you doing what's best for you. ^_^

As for the kitten? Go to a no kill shelter, you can usually get a very cheap kitten there. Just be careful, you may walk out with two or three... You'll want to go down and maybe buy a book on how to take care of one, and make sure you get to a vet within a week of getting your kitten so they can do blood tests and make sure that you cat doesn't have Feline HIV.

I highly recomend a little scratching post (Hell, if I was closer I'd give you one, I have one cat and she has two posts and a kitty condo! No spoiled now is she?) and there are these little squishy balls that PetSmart sells that are excellent toys. Take forever to destroy and cost about 3 bucks for 4 of them. ^^

I recomend ceramic bowls, apparently since cats can sometimes scratch at plastic ones it can create a film on the water that isn't good for them. Best kind of litter in a clumping litter and for the love of GOD make sure you don't let you kitten pounce your hand. You will regret it later on in life, I have the scars to prove it.

Also, teach them that getting into their carriers is not a punishment maybe by putting treats into it and just coaxing them into liking it...same with nail clippings.

Gah, lots of stuff...I've got a tabby cat, and she's very pretty, they're very docile and good with people, also playful.

Best way to get a kitten is to go to either a small-town vet or the local humane society. The humane society will charge you a fee that includes kitten + shots and stuff, and they'll have a lot of cats that have come from bad situatiions or their owners died and are of various ages. If you go to a small-town vet (just drive out of the city a ways. When I get one I'm going to the vet at my cottage), they will often have kittens from one of the clients that need homes. They'll give them to you for free and just charge you for the shots.

I also recommend picking out the kitten you want first, putting down the money for it, and then running out to buy some required items before taking it home. (Talk to the vet/HS and tell them you want to do this.) Things you will need:

Hairball remedy (the kind in a tube that you squeeze onto your finger is good)
Tartar-control cat treats (Crunchy. Do not get fish or dairy kind, they upset their stomachs.)
Litter box of some kind
Self-clumping litter (Multi-cat is best, even if you only have one cat. Scoop at breakfast and dinner.)
Cat dish that can take a little weight-- cats will knock it around while eating.
Cat food -- talk to the vet/HS on what might be good depending on your cat
Two or three cat toys to start, get different kinds. The ball-in-a-track-with-scratch-pad-at-centre is popular and fun, feather-on-a-string is good, too. Small toys that squeek are fun but break pretty easily after you cat has a good "hunt".
Small cat bed, even if your cat sleeps with you or on your bed or whatever they'll want a place to nap or hide. Put it under something so they can have a nice cave. Cats need a defensible position every once in awhile.
Collar-- Depends. Keeping your cat as a permanently indoors cat is best because they won't get into fights, get sick less often, etc. It's way, WAY better in the long-run and your cat will live healthier, longer. Also, your cat won't go into heat until a year or so after you get it, and if it's an indoors cat, you don't risk it running out and getting knocked up. (Female cats don't pee on furniture. Male cats do. Get a female.)
Nail trimmers - like small, weirdly shaped scissors. You should trim your cats' nails once a week. Ask the vet to show you what to do. The easiest way is to find the cat sleeping, roll it onto it's back, trim, and then give it a belly-rub and cookies as reward each time. Otherwise, that cat will kick your ass if you come near it with the trimmers.

I can't think of a lot else right now, but that should at least get you started. The first thing to do really though is to stop in at a vet and pick up a pamphlet on cat-care and read it over first. Cats are expensive and take a bit of work, but they're very fun and soft and cuddly, and they actually need less work than dogs or gerbils. Just feed them, keep the water full, scoop the litter at meals and trim nails once a week + hairball once a week and you're set.

I'm so jealous. I totally want a cat. ;_;

I've said again and again that if you need help with 30kisses, I'd be more than willing to help. ^_^

First week or so is always hard after a breakup...it might hurt for longer than that but you'll get through. You're strong and resilient. :-)

Break ups are hard to get over and since I never had a relationship before, I'm not sure how to help. But don't pull yourself down just because of this. Think positive and let things flow. You can always call him, or confront him (not like, "Why the hell did you blah, blah blah) and maybe ask him if he still wanted to be friends. Though, I'm pretty sure that would be awkward... ><

As for the kitten, you should get one! They're really good friends! And you can always talk to them. I usually talk with my aunt's siamese dog, Bagel.

And, I'll be glad to help mod the lyricwheel!

Hope that you feel better soon!

These are the two doggies I'm referring to. My aunt calls them Siamese tho'. ^^;; Bagel's more of a sandy brown color.

And I'm still up for the co-mod. spot. So contact by email or...?

Movies.... I recommend a good action or comedy... I mean, even stand-up comedy. Robin Williams: Live on Broadway is hilarious and even a little 'adult' in some parts (your perception of him as the genie from Aladdin or Mrs. Doubtfire will be killed...^^;). He sweats buckets too, but it is funny.

Or if you haven't seen The Rundown that's pretty good. XD Mainly action-adventure, and you get to see 'The Rock' fall off a cliff.

*puts on thinking cap* More domain possibilities....

indigohorizon, eveningstar, blueadieu, (the)seventhstar, freewings, foreverblue, newstepmagic, rebornserenade, glitteringsky, legendofazure, coffeeandcream, wishingwell, stillwaters, digitalmana, realfantasy...

*brain dies* I'll think up some more later if you want. ^_^

i want a kitty too!
