So I've been watching Sailor Moon Season 1 for the past few hours, intermixed with a new episode of Alias that I didn't understand much. Aside from Lauren being 100% confirmed dead, Sark apparently having a serious thing for her (WTF!?) and Nadia being alive (we all knew it would happen), there didn't seem to be anything too dramatic or interesting in this episode. Syd's impression of Lauren kinda stank, too.
By the way, did you know Lauren's actress was in one of my fav movies, Sugar and Spice? ^_^ She was actually somewhat cool in that.
Anyhow, today just isn't my day... even if I will be getting $200 soon from that survey thing last night. To put it into more detail, the new router came today, but I couldn't install it because I didn't have the CD. I looked everywhere, and finally gave in and called Scott. I waited for hours, and no response. I tried text messaging him. Same thing. I finally gave in-- but then he called on the house phone, claiming I hadn't answered my phone! Grr! Who to be mad at, him or my phone? Anyway, turns out he THREW OUT the install CD! >_< BAKA!!!
To top it all off, I had to get transfered to three different people at SBC support, the first of which sounded like a stoned surfer who had no idea what the hell he was doing. When I finally talked to the right person, she told me it might take 5-7 days to get a new CD! Thank goodness I remembered I could plug in the old modem, so I can get regular DSL through that. -_- Scott will just have to suffer without it.
When he finally came home, he spent most of his time upstairs photoshopping-- and then after a bit of tinkering and showing him stuff myself, he left for school to work on prints-- which apparently didn't turn out. Now he wants to spend about $1K on a digital camera! o_O That doesn't sound like him, even if he is dedicated to his craft.
So he finally came home not long ago, and came down to talk to me about getting his niece a present for her 5th birthday. (I'm so jealous. I want a niece to spoil rotten.) But he didn't seem to take many of my suggestions, and ended up getting her an e-Certificate to Amazon.com. A great idea, to be sure, but he still wouldn't even let me help him navigate through the site until the end. He checked his email and such-- and then closed my windows! ARGH! >_<
It's the little things he keeps doing that keep getting on my nerves. I don't know why. We just had our 6 month anniversary (be quiet, Joe! I don't care if "anni" is Latin for "yearly," it's still what people call it, so it's what I'm going to say!) and I'm not going to screw it up by being hypersensitive! Anyway, there's a test in Astronomy tomorrow I think... and I haven't studied! I have to wake up at 7am tomorrow, wake Baba up for an eye appointment, and, and... well, let's say I shouldn't have been slacking off/stressing as I have. YIKES!

It's not a friggin' word, ALL RIGHT?!
alright is not a word. Yes, you may see it in manga and even in published magazines, but it's still not a word. Yes, you can look it up on Dictionary.com, but see what it says? NONSTANDARD. In dictionary-speak, that means ILLEGAL! It's NOT A WORD. Just like 'alot' is not a word! STOP IT!!!!
:p

Date: 2005-03-04 03:30 am (UTC)I'll call it a monsary, if you want me to!
O.E. monað, from P.Gmc. *mænoth- (O.N. manaðr, M.Du. manet, Du. maand, O.H.G. manod, Ger. Monat, Goth. menoþs "month"), related to *mænon- "moon" (see moon). Its cognates mean only "month" in the Romance languages, but in Gmc. generally continue to do double duty. Phrase a month of Sundays "a very long time" is from 1832 (roughly 7 and a half months, but never used literally).
"However, the word is often incorrectly used for different time lengths (eg. a "one month anniversary")." -Wikipedia.org. So it may be incorrect, but at least I'm not the only one doing it! Besides that, I realize it's incorrect, but all my searches for a one-word name for the event have proved futile, so unless you can find me a ONE word replacement, I'm just fine using it as is. And I mean one that strictly means a "celebration occurring monthly," in a similar respect to how "anniversary" functions.
