So it went a little bit like this
Dec. 6th, 2004 09:51 am*stares* Gah, I got up far too early this morning for it to be healthy. But I had to; my first final (Speech) was at 8am, and that meant getting up (read: opening my eyes and hitting the alarm clock) at 7am, lying there till 7:20, and pretty much lollygagging till 7:40. Scott and I left at 7:45.
My Speech final was amazingly easy; writing that study guide last night really helped. I may have gotten one or two questions wrong (weird questions like those "All or none" ones), but I'm mostly confident. I'll be getting my grades back via mail anyway, along with my last lab and intramural observations. Overall, I think I did well, and I had fun. At the end of the final (a half hour later), I left... everyone (okay, all the guys) were waiting outside, and we chilled and talked for a while, until 9am or so. Then out of nowhere everyone wants to go to IHOP, but I have $1.30-something to my name, so despite the coolness of chilling with a bunch of guys (I miss that feeling, I really do) again, I had to decline... so here I am in the collab.
I checked my email... I wonder if whatever spam or adware or virus I have at home is somehow screwing with my IE-access to my Yahoo! account, or Outlook. *le sigh* Despite downloading Giant Spyware, the EliteBar is probably still on my comp, as GIANT prompts me to remove it every time I log on. Between that and the annoying and frightening DLL errors, I really don't know what to do. I got cocky, I guess. Everyone turns to me for tech support, and here I've done everything in my power and funds to keep the computer running smooth and clean, but still we've gotten something. Worse, my CAD presentation is tomorrow, and I have to either BS a sword or weapon of some sort from FFX (my preference) or try and finish my blimp. Then I can transfer it to my memory stick, and pray that I don't transfer a virus along with it.
I ought to head back to Manzanita now; there's not much else to do besides study at this point, and after that, I'll probably hitch a ride home with Scott. I'll conk out for a few hours and then work on CAD, pack my bags for this weekend-Dec. & Jan. and... pray for the rest of the week, I guess.
I thought Scott would be in here studying, but he hasn't replied to either of my TMs, so... huh. Maybe his phone is off? I'll swing by downstairs to check, just in case. But for now, I'm out.
...Oh by the way, it'd be nice if I were like spoiled-rotten Cassie Claire or whatever her name is, and if my computer got decimated by these viruses and spamware, people set up a PayPal account for me to buy ME a brand new $1500+ computer. *grumbles under breath*
I'm actually looking forward to going back to SF-- for some strange reason. Huh.

Date: 2004-12-06 05:59 pm (UTC)a)you remove it using spyware removal programs
b)virus-scan and try to remove the crap that's there using the anti-virus programs
c)destructive system restore.
I tried the 1st 2 and it didn't work. Did the last one and it worked but as a last resort. if you are going to do that, back up every file that you have and then restore it and then reinstall all of your stuff.
Hope that helps. If you are using Windows XP, and if you're computer has that special partition on the HD that let's you do the destructive system restore, you don't have to load Windows XP from a CD. Use that as last resort.
