azurite: (hobbit_hunter - It's All Coming Back to)
BOO! Guess who? No, it's not who you think. Well, it is, and it isn't.

Here's a hint, ladies (and the one honorable gentleman, TLP!): I'm back, I'm bold, maybe even beautiful! I'm in your face, and you're going to have to deal with it!

Nope, it's not Sailormoon, Princess Serenity, the Neo-Queen, her spore of a daughter, or even her dub "incarnations." It's ANDI!

Gawd, do you guys remember when I went by that name? This pre-dated 'Azurite.' It pre-dated 'the_sweet.' It pre-dated everything and everyone outside of Meriellen5, my AIM name, and is the real reason why some people call me Mer (blame it on the striking similarity between my real name and my SN...). Wow.

And I'm not sure just what struck me into going through my old files and everything-- it might have been the inactivity notice from Aria's Ink (*embarassed blush*), or maybe catching myself browsing the old layout folders, one of which was entitled "Lunar Nights," coincidentally the title of one of my fics. Actually, the layout was really named "Chez Ali Baba," and that set me on a whole other search to see if Moyra's Web Jewels were still around (they're not), but there's a Museum dedicated to her magnificent layouts...

Anyhow, so I started putting together the Lunar Nights page, and it occurred to me, despite having at least 3 folders in which my SM fics were located (Sites/ms, Fanfiction/Sailormoon, and SMRFF/*Holiday Goes Here*) I couldn't find Lunar Nights. I remember very little about it, except that it obviously had ties with "A Thousand And One Arabian Nights," and Naru actually played some role in it. It was an AR, if I recall correctly. And back in the day when I wrote everything in text files and avoided vowels in my filenames like the plague (why!?) I would have called the file "lnrnghts.txt." Except I can't find it, and now I'm distraught. Was it caught in the wave of Klez-ed files? *wails* Noo! It's not even listed in my Ideas page, though it might be under my MS Access file of fanfics with very brief summaries.

It all brings me back to Sailormoon-dom, which I desperately want to get back into. Not just for Aria's Ink, but for the SMRFF, for ASMR, for Mare Serenitatis, for EVERYTHING! For me, for Michelle, for the love of shoujo! How many girls became victims of the anime or manga plague after they saw or read Sailormoon? I did...

So here's a bit of nostalgia for you, my dear friends from WAY THE HELL BACK WHEN, who've known me since I was the littlest imouto-chan, who still aspires to be like you, and you, and Alicia Blade... There's so much I miss of the old fandom, and one of these days (soon, and I mean it this time) I'm going to kick it back into high gear.

Remember "Nevermore" from the SMRFF's one hour challenge? I just reformatted it, and I'll be putting it up on Aria's Ink and ASMR soon. I think it's already on FFnet, but it needs to look nicer.

There's also those from the lyric wheels-- the oddly ignored and dark "AfterLife," on Aria's Ink and FFnet (0 reviews on FFnet! WTF!?) along with "Forever Never Ends," another oneshot to Queen's "Forever."

And then we start getting into what Scott likes to call "the old school." We've got my epic in dire need of revision, "Only 16." There's yet another creepy oneshot for Usa Day on the SMRFF, "24." Then we have some more interesting pieces that you may or may not have seen... (and they may have never seen the light of the web, so don't be surprised if any of these are unfamiliar to you):

* Angel - inspired by a story by Marianya, I believe. Serenity is an angel of death who believes she has the worst job in the world. A chance meeting --or perhaps fate-- brings her to the hospital door of Chiba Mamoru, a dying man with no past and no hope for the future. Can they melt the ice in each others' hearts?

* Before Eternal - My epic collection of stories about the Metal Knights, also known as the Animates. It starts out with the tragic story of Iron Mouse, continuing on to telling the story of Aluminum Siren, Lead Crow, Tin Nyanko, and all the others... it reveals the truth behind their decision to join Galaxia, and what happened to the original Star Seed holders from the planets we've never seen before...

* Broken Hearts - Yet another one of my ridiculous beginner songfics, back in the era when I was obsessed with Sailormoon R and the break-up period. To Britney Spears' "From the Bottom of my Broken Heart."

* Butterfly Stroke - An AR in which Usagi is desperate to be good at something-- and discovers swimming, challenges, and so much more-- maybe even romance.

* Closer than Heaven - Another AR, in which Chibiusa reveals a secondary mission explaining her return to the past. Something is deeply affecting Neo-Queen Serenity in the future, something that has its roots in the past. But before they get get embroiled in the most bitter battle of their lives, the Senshi have to find out the truth behind Usagi's smile...

* Comatose - Given the choice to see all the ills of your life revealed in a dream, would you sleep until that dream was done? If no one else could know that you were still alive, still dreaming... what would become of you in the waking world?

* Conflicting Emotions - She has no intention of acting like the perfect, prim, and proper Princess everyone makes her out to be, even when the Prince and his Royal Guard come to visit from Earth. So Serenity decides to "borrow" the Crescent Moon Wand and the Ginzuishou, and transforms into a Senshi! But the identity of the Soldier of the Moon is a closely guarded secret, and it certainly doesn't help when the Prince of Earth falls for her- but not Serenity!

* Cosmic Rebirth - A three-parter, and my very first fanfiction. An alternate look at the events of Sailormoon S.

* Everything's Changed - Mamoru never returned after Galaxia stole his star seed. And now, faced with peace for the first time in years, Usagi is unsure what to do. Her senshi still want to protect her, as do the trapped-on-Earth Starlights and their princess, Kakyuu. But protect her from what? The time has come to live life and face her most difficult decisions, because everything's changed...

* Final Gate - You remember this ridiculously short fic? I posted it up on FFnet for a while (matter of fact, it might still be there), and it confused the heck out of a lot of people. Why? I wrote it at my friend Richard's house, while Gina Reams was playing FFX nearby. I was trying to figure out the Sphere Grid, and the concept of colored spheres, aeons, and portals through time influenced this fic... which still has no set plot to it. ^^;

* Gutless - I can't remember what came first-- this as an original story, or the fic turning into an original story. In any case, it's an AU in which Serena has the opportunity to meet a handsome new student, but only if she has the guts to approach him... (I wrote this back when I was head over heels in love with Cunningham, and as a result, it's got some elements of "Impossible" in there. Also, many of the people in here can be related to one or more of my IRL friends, especially Rochelle, Stephanie, Katia, and Eva.)

* Heaven on Earth - A oneshot, in which high-school Usagi looks back on the past, before she was a senshi, and before her life changed. What is Heaven on Earth?

* Hogosha no Kokoro (Guardian of the Heart) - Another AR, in which Pluto leaves a baby Princess Serenity on Earth-- to be raised by Tanzanite, Zoisite's mother. The young princess grows up as a peasant girl with only boys for friends, and no memory of her heritage. But one day, her "brother" and his friends meet a prince, and their adventure begins at last...

* Information, Please! - Originally started for Aria's Ink Christmas Competition, but never finished. Usagi is working the Information Desk at a mall and finds it more difficult than she thought to be entirely nice-- and sane during this busy season. To make matters worse, children get lost and youmas attack-- and Mamoru is her co-worker!

*  Little Princess - based off Kara Dalkey's "Little Sister." Usagi is the younger "sister" of Minako, Princess of Venus. A great war between the priests of Earth and those who pursue peace with the Lunarians tear Minako from her lover, leaving the young woman soulless. It's up to Usagi to venture into the depths of Hell itself to get her sister's soul back, but falling in love isn't part of her plan...

* Maybe We Could Do This Again Sometime - A rash assumption leads Mamoru to think Usagi is dead. After years pass, Usagi returns to his life-- but with no memory of who he is, who the senshi are, or what her true destiny is. As much as this can screw things up, everyone is assured that if they take it slowly, there is a chance the Usagi they remember may return. But can a wizened Mamoru really court Usagi, without the pretense of a tragic past and an epic future with her?

* Old Wounds - It's not easy to "forgive and forget," especially when it comes to your boyfriend turning evil on you. Mamoru has already had a hard enough time with his past, but now memories of the first great battle haunt him. Will he and Usagi ever be able to reconcile their differences and find the power of love in order to heal their old wounds?

* Outta My Head - Another songfic for an SMRFF lyric wheel, this one is to Fastball's "Outta My Head." Mamoru's broken up with Usagi, but she won't get out of his head. With the enemies dead-set on destroying her and changing the future, what is a caped vigilante to do?

* Price to Pay - A tragic oneshot from the Sailormoon S manga (vol. 10 in the original 18 volume set), exploring Usagi's final decision and realization about the price to pay for peace.

* Quest for Vengeance - Minako Aino's adventure started before any of the others. It started with a cat, a pen, an arcade, and a red bow. It started with a compact, and the true reflection of the man she thought she loved. Now, the Dark Agency has returned with a new leader intent on destroying... Mamoru?! Minako faces solo senshi time once more as Mamoru and Usagi are both endangered, and only she can unravel the mystery of this new Dark Agency...

* Quicksilver - The year 2000 brought about a horrific change in the world. Computers and machines took over, ending the Age of the Human. This marks the period just before the prophesied "Thousand Year Sleep," but no one could have predicted that the Senshi would be sploit up around the globe, without their powers to help them. But as time passes and the girls change, fate brings them together again... only some of them aren't quite the same.

* Remembrance - Usagi can't take the nightmares anymore. She can't take the loneliness, the strain, or the danger. So she leaves Tokyo and heads for Los Angeles, leaving her life as Sailormoon behind. But it's never quite that easy to give up the role of "Savior of the World..."

* Restoration - Serena believes she can't do her job as Sailormoon anymore, and decides the only way to help is to return to the moon, and regain her full powers. But restoring the old Silver Millennium has its price to pay, and when Serena finally returns to Earth, she may not find it anything like the place she left behind...

* Secrets - A late-night trip to the graveyard reveals a side of Serena that Darien had no idea existed. When she lands in the hospital, Darien is intrigued-- and terrified of the past that no one else seems to know about. Is it possible she's really harbored some dark secrets that not even he can fathom? But Serena won't tell, even if it'll mean the death of her...

* Sleepover - During Sailormoon: Sailorstars, Usagi is confronted with the prospect of another suitor-- Seiya. Everyone else has their doubts and suspicions about him, but Usagi chooses to believe that Seiya and her can just be friends, no matter what duties she has, or however rude his bandmates seem. But one stormy afternoon when Usagi's on the way to the temple with tapes of her days as Sailormoon, she endangers everyone and everything-- because Seiya is her only shield from the storm, and he's not letting her go easy... (Seiya/Usagi, rated R!)

* Speak Your Mind - A droid attacks Sailor Moon, leaving her without the ability to speak. Unable to speak to attack or detransform, she's put in the care of the person who hardly thinks he can "take care" of the Soldier of the Moon-- Darien Shields. While caring for her and helping the soldiers fight without their leader, Serena attempts to find a new way to channel her power-- but even if she succeeds, will she ever regain her voice, and her normal life, ever again?

* Time After Time - A time rift sends Usagi and Mamoru into the 30th century, while Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion find themselves in 20th Century Tokyo. Worse, Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion end up in the Silver Millennium. All of them have the opportunity to change all that they've ever known, but what lasting repercussions will their actions have?

* Trinity - Prince Demando manages to capture Usagi and turn her to the side of the Black Moon. In order to defeat she who was once the purest heart in the solar system, the Senshi must summon a soldier unlike any other- the soldier of the Trinity, made up of the powers of the most powerful guardians, and the most powerful emotions they have for her. She might be able to defeat the new Soldier of the Black Moon, but only at the cost of her own life...

* True Love - What is true love? And does Darien feel it for Serena, or for Serenity? Did he EVER feel it for her, the normal junior high girl? Desperate to find out, Serena takes a chance on an age-old spell, and brings the Princess back to life-- pushing her own consciousness out of her body. Now the Scouts have a princess who can't fight, and Darien has a girl who loves him-- and wants to know why he keeps rebuking her. How long can he keep his lies up, when everyone's depending on him to bring the real Serena back?

* Trust - Trust is the foundation of all relationships, even those in their most fragile state. Serena and Darien have never gotten along, but when Zoycite chases Sailor Moon into Darien's apartment complex, Sailor Moon just might have to trust the man she deems her worst enemy in "real life," and risk discovering more than she bargained for...

* The Seasons - A series of stories revolving around holidays. They aren't all related, but they're all packaged together since they have the "holiday" theme in common. The first is the oneshot "Halloween," based on the Buffy episode. During Sailormoon R, Serena and Darien have broken up, but Serena thinks that it's because Darien didn't love her, but the Princess side of her. So when a droid uses the power of darkness to turn Halloween costumes into the real personality of the wearer, Serena becomes the Princess, while Lita becomes an army grunt, Ami becomes a ghost, and the whole city plunges into chaos!

* Twisted Fate - An AU, in which top architectural designer Usagi Tsukino gets stuck in the airport-- and ends up running into her ex-boyfriend. Fate is so twisted, it won't let them escape without resolving their differences and having a grand adventure in the process...

...and that's all for now. ^_^ Ah, nostalgia.
