I have an idea, I have an idea! Listen up, it's a good one this time, I swear.

I happen to love the winter season, the holidays, etc. It doesn't matter that every year, I end up getting into a brawl with the cookie press, spilling hundreds of M&Ms on the floor, or arguing with my mom over the placement of that half-broken goose egg ornament-- I still love winter.

And I love the idea of a Secret Santa. Now, I'm a dweeb, if you haven't guessed by now. A crafty, evil, insane dweeb. And this dweeb here happens to get very generous (read: uncharacteristic) this time of year, and very determined, as well. So I'd like to set up a Secret Santa for all my wunderbar online friends!

Yes, you.

Obviously the IRL people I know (you know who you are) are a whole different box of ornaments, so guys, don't feel like I'm leaving you out! You know when I see you again I'll be spoiling you rotten with my very presence (haha) among other things! ^_^

So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to set up something at GuessList.com (probably), which will make this whole schebang a lot easier than commenting and junk on LJ. BUT! Let me know whether you want to be in on this (through here) if you can, because then I know who to send email invites to. To participate, all you do is reply, and we get things going from there.

Now, because most of us are:
* dependent on our parents
* broke college students
* poor adults
* some combination thereof

There is NO cost. The minimum for a gift is $0. That's for things like fanart, fanfics, layouts, icons, and so on. The minimum cost for such a gift is a donation of your time and creative genius. Of course, if you happen to be lacking in one or more of those departments, you're more than welcome to shell out, say, $25 for:
* A LiveJournal paid account for a year (people will like that)
* LiveJournal clothing (ooh, spiffy!)
* A paid Fanfiction.net account (also spiffy!)
* Something on an Amazon.com wishlist
* A gift card/certificate for some cool store

How's that sound?

If a professional funky site doesn't work out, I can always try (keyword: TRY) to PHP code something (a random algorithm) to match people up and choose random gifts from say, a list of "Your Top 5 Most Wanted Gifts." Then, people who do the $0/time thing will let me know and I can upload their presents to a page to be downloaded, and those who actually BOUGHT something can communicate via email to arrange mailing (if it's through Amazon.com or PayPal, they take care of that for you).

AAAAAAAAnd if all that blows up in my face, there's always the possibility of me holding a massive actual contest --holiday themed, of course-- sponsored either by DRFA/BEA or Darkness Rising. With a real prize. You know, like... Yu-Gi-Oh volumes? *grin* Maybe a calendar, or somesuch? Let me know what you're into, and I'll do it. I'm getting into the holiday groove!

Anywho, I gotta go meet Scott after his Yoga (you say Yoga, I think Yogurt!) class. Mata na~

Grr. So much for my email working again. It's got to be something with my home configuration or whatever, because all those emails I got today checking my email at the Collabatory are mysteriously GONE when I check them here (both using Outlook Express *and* Internet Explorer to Yahoo! Mail). I know my PLUS account hasn't expired, and I know my config options are correct, so wtf!? Is this some bad form of spyware or whatnot? I have been getting a lot of pop-ups lately... >_> Stupid Spybot S&D is taking a long time to do its thing though, and AdAware, though it's got the newest defs (as does McAfee Virus Scan) doesn't seem to do much. Augh, help!

I made regular (nut-free) chocolate chip cookies for the anime club potluck (last meeting tonight), and Baba says they turned out good. I also copied Inuyasha 73-81 to my comp, so next semester I'll eventually get up to the entire series (episode 167). I still need the movies, though! It'll take awhile, being limited to 3 cds of 3 eps per week! >_< Baba also said that since Scott and my's tickets from OAK to BUR this January are so cheap ($98 total), they'll pay for them! Yahoo! ^_^ But I can't get them now-- once Grandpa gets home, maybe tomorrow.

X_X Must take nap. One hour before I have to leave...

*wails* Stupid email!
