Gawd, I love having cable. I love Baba, who knows I love Sci-Fi. A&E is showing "Empire of Dreams," the documentary for the original Star Wars trilogy. It's going to be on the DVD set (which I MUST buy, as soon as I get $60 from somewhere...) that comes out... this Tuesday, I think? ^_^ Yay~ Scott says that we should watch it together (if his roommate gets it), and determine who's the bigger geek. ^^;;
I'm not exactly a Star Wars junkie, but I do love the trilogy, and I guiltily admit to knowing several lines, owning two VHS boxed sets (both still in SF, along with my VCR-- *sniff!*), and having seen it several times. But of course, the documentary has loads of new information... Plus, I'm all about learning about the tiny quirk things. Rare posters, for example. Hrrrrm!
Commercial wise-- I love the Simpsons Mastercard commercial, plus the Agassi-kid kicking butt in tennis. A&E has the same sort of commercials all the time though, which is a bit of a bummer. Still, TV = distraction. I finally got my journalism reading done, but on the last page there was an Interactive assignment, and I'm not sure if I was supposed to read it, or do it, or what. We'll find out tomorrow, I guess. Ms. Henry has a way of picking the most oddball things for the reading quizzes-- I have a feeling it'll be something about syndication. X_X I'll have to keep reading when I'm not so distracted... I love the Starbucks commercial where the band follows the guy around. It's so fantastic. ;D
Man, hard to believe that both Inuyasha and Yu-Gi-Oh are coming to a close within the next month. Matter of fact, Inuyasha's supposed to end tonight, I think-- or sometime this week. Yu-Gi-Oh finishes in October, with the new series (we already have the first 5 episode titles) premiering October 6th. Even though I knew about the official ending of Yu-Gi-Oh months ago, when the final Battle was released in Weekly Shounen Jump, the ending and the possibilities it creates still get to me. Of course, with Kaiba actually there and the story format changed slightly to accommodate the TV series, who knows what new goodies we can base fics off of...
Urm... other semi-good news? More dog-sitting this month. Lunch with Scott tomorrow, and Baba and Grandpa are leaving on Wednesday... for a WHOLE WEEK. BOO YAH!!!!
Finally, I've gone obsessive about WDKY again, and have started constructing a series of calendars-- complete with day, date, and time zone (Tokyo, +9). I'm trying to ensure I don't have a giant gaping plot hole, but I obviously have some work to do. X_X Eventually I'll figure everything out...
