^_^ Whew! I feel like I've crawled up from the abyss! It's been days since I've been on the computer, much less online and LJing! Bwaha, I am BACK! Yeah, maybe I just can't go that long without LJing... I always need to vent. Rather interesting stuff over the past few days anyway, so here I am to (hopefully) entertain and inform!

For starters, as the subject line says, I now have a flip phone of doom! Since my Sanyo was so outdated and busted (how many stories have I dropped that thing from? Whatever, it needs tape to hold the battery in), Mom agreed to upgrade my phone. I now am the proud owner of a Samsung Vision VI660! I can do all this neat stuff-- it's even got a color screen! It's not a camera phone, but then again, I don't need one. :P All I need is my Bejeweled game (which is loads better than 'Crab Catch') and some DDR ringtones (anyone know where to download?) and I'm set to go! The number is still the same though, so you all know where to reach me...

Even better, there was this giganimous rebate on it, so instead of paying $180 for the phone, we technically only pay $67... or at least, we'll get the difference back once the rebate goes through. ^_^ The first two months of service (at least the downloading service) is supposed to be free, but via the phone, I can't connect to download games and such. Maybe I have to wait exactly 24 hours? *pout* What a pain.

Post phone-getting, Mom and I went to San Francisco's last California Pizza Kitchen. I was hungry (having had nothing but Froot Loops and fortune cookies for breakfast), so I got the Roma Tomato, Basil, and Parmesan pizza (I'm normally a stickler for the things I like at restaurants; at CPK, 99.9% of the time, I will stick with Traditional Cheese). I saved room for dessert -a tangy Key Lime Pie- and Mom didn't complain a bit. This was a nice change of face for her, especially given the previous night I was steamed at her for being so inconsiderate with Gary over that I couldn't even sleep in my own room. Yes, you heard me right-- I had to sleep on the couch.

But sleeping on the couch apparently does weird stuff to my brain. I had a very strange dream. What I remember doesn't seem to make much sense with anything I've done/said/seen/heard, so if anyone cares to interpret, let me know what the hell my brain is on. ^^; Okay, so I'm in this history class of sorts, and it's so boring that several other students, including myself, result to playing pranks on the professor. But he just keeps on teaching, in that boring-ass Ben Stein voice of his. So my friends and I snuck out, and before I know it, we're with this older, advanced class that has something to do with water exploration. I end up in this team that goes underwater, and oddly enough, we can breathe and talk underwater. We're at the very bottom of the ocean (though it doesn't seem that deep), studying these strange fish --they looked long and sort of almond-shaped, with huge bug-eyes, like half-deflated puffer fish. Even stranger, there was a bulldozer underwater, its headlights on. It was scooping all these fish forward towards us for some reason, and it was driving the other divers with me crazy. I remember one of them saying something about us being in Venezuelan waters. And then Mom woke me up.

?_?

Let's see... what else? More packing, but it's difficult, because I have loads of boxes that are heavier than anything I or my Dad can pick up. I still have my laundry to do today, but Mom's out of the house, so I have to wait until she comes back before I can do anything. Most of my stuff is packed, save my Playstation 2 and the games I have to return to Joe, along with some cosmetics. Everything else is packed away in my room closet, or sitting on my room floor, a big mess. ^^;

I have loads of CDs to still burn (procrastination much?) and programs to write down and copy... *sigh* This'll be a long day if I don't get anything done. Even worse, there's still the matter of my ScholarShare info and where to send it, my health care (which apparently was canceled; I can get it reinstated if I get my school to do this seal-info thingy, but that means waiting until the school year starts!), and blah, blah, blah. >_< I have so much to do, I really wish I could multiply myself for the next two weeks.

The fer sure dates are as such:

16th - Bonfire of DOOM! at Ocean Beach. BYO Marshmallows, Hot Dogs, etc. Plus burnables, such as pictures of guys you hate, F-school papers, and so on.

20th - Michelle's memorial. I'm trekking out to Land's End as is my tradition, and paying my respects. Anyone brave enough to join me is welcome.

23rd - My plane takes off from Oakland at 10:35am. I'm probably taking BART there, so nope, not going out with a huge bang. If anyone wants to come with me to the airport and wish me luck (haha, I wish!) then you're welcome to come! For anyone that makes the effort, I'll treat you to an overpriced Airport Smoothie, which is actually much better tasting than it sounds!

Gaaah... there's always so much to do. It never ends... OKAY! I am in ASS-KICK MODE!!! ROAR!!!

Damn, programming my phone book into my new phone is a pain. Why can't that kind of thing be importable/exportable/whatever it is? >_< Damn. But hey, there appear to be a lot of numbers wasting precious space in my phone book. Numbers like... gee: Lonnie, some of Mom's friends (gag, I do *not* want Gary's number in my PB), people from HS who never talk to me anymore (Cassie, Gina R., Larisa, Kripa), my hairstylist (gah, must get hair done before I go!), and assorted other people who rarely call me anyway.

Speaking of People Who I Rarely Hear From, the Mai from Fanimecon actually left me a review in one of my fanfics! @_O That's kind of surprising... I can't remember if I gave her the FFnet email or my standard one. In any case, it's pretty cool, and I ought to reply to her somehow... I wonder if she actually read the fic, though? ^^; What's more, I wonder if she's really as old as I thought she was at Fanime (the other girls said something like 20). But 1) she didn't look it and 2) she didn't act it. But what do I know-- I'm a hopelessly bad judge of things like age...\

Fic ideas as of late? A Yuugi oneshot songfic to Vertical Horizon's "Everything You Want." I have a feeling it's been done before, but the style I have in mind is a bit strange, and might be somewhat original. Still, I have so much else to do online and offline, so new fics are far from being a priority. There is, of course, a whole plethora of juicy fics waiting to be written based on the current dub arc (Yugi vs. Kaiba and thereafter). The whole idea of Evil!Téa just appeals to me (and I'm also a sucker for Reincarnation Fics, as I'm sure you all know by now).

Hey, did I mention I think the "Original CG" from the DDR Project 3 (4th mix)'s "Dream a Dream" is actually supposed to be Sandman and... I don't know, some sort of doll flunky? It really looks like Sandman. Or some character from the comic.

Online/Computer To-Do List:
* Finish tweaking the Mamo Day 2003 Awards and finally post them
* Make a layout based on said awards, because they rock that hard. Plus it'll save me the trouble of doing layouts later in the year, when I have school.
* Make the templates for the Usa Day 2004 Awards-- scan the source material, decide on a design scheme, and make the PSDs.
* Set up the polls for the Usa Day 2004 Awards-- go through the archives to make sure I'm not forgetting any entries
* Work on WDKY and/or The Rose Chronicles
* Catch up on people's LJs
* Start burning CDs-- Music first, then the other stuff. Make sure to keep backups of fanfiction-related stuff on the HD. Does anyone know of a program that browses a folder and then lists the contents in a printable format? I want to do this for my MP3s, so if I lose any, I know what to download again.

Offline/Non-Comp To-Do List
* Finish sorting through pack-able stuff in my room
* Get more boxes
* Do laundry
* Pack rollerblades, clothes, cosmetics/accessories, manga/anime collection, PS2, and any other weird stuff I might be forgetting
* Get fixed jewelry (choker, necklaces, watches) together. MUST HAVE WATCH!!!
* Call Baba and Grandpa-- do they have a VCR after all???
* Return the Library Books

Speaking of Library Books, I finished "Lady Robyn" earlier today. And I spotted no less than 3 spelling and grammar errors. >_O This got me thinking "Maybe I should be an editor!" but that might be a bit crazy... I mean, I can hardly keep my own tense perfect, let alone tell the difference between active and passive voice... blah, blah. I'll stick to beta'ing fanfiction and Role Playing for now. The thing about LR that bugs me MOST though is that it's part of a trilogy-- I didn't read the first book "Knight Errant," and I really should, just because so much of LR doesn't make much sense without it. That's rather bad, for a trilogy, isn't it? And since it came out fairly recently (2003), I doubt the next segment is out yet... which annoys me SO much, since it left off on a cliffhanger.

AAAAAAAAND speaking of cliffhangers, I'm thinking of establishing a clan of elite Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction writers. The "Evil Mad Scientists" of the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, shall we say? If I used that term though, I'd have to ask Meredith Bronwen Mallory, since she is the definitive Evil Mad Scientist-- of the Sailor Moon fandom, anyway. But with all those kids of hers, I'm not sure even a Demando ransom would bring her out...

What else am I forgetting now?

Wow, a psychological quiz on Quizilla. Damn. (Does anyone know what the ORANGE font is? I know I've seen that before!!)

Editing WDKY8 is giving me a sense of how insanely long the chapters are, even without the author's notes and review replies. All the same, I'm going to be cutting all the author's notes to my webpage and here, to my LJ, as well as the review replies. I'll condense them all by chapter eventually, and post them here... and add them to my Memories for easy access.

Errors... well, for starters, I keep getting this error on my new phone, one that prevents me from downloading new ringtones or games. It really pisses me off. A few forums have recommended leaving the phone off until midnight of tonight so the changes or whatever can take effect. If they don't by tomorrow, I'm calling Sprint! >_<

Also, I still haven't resolved the error with BEA that prevents me from adding people to the FL via admin.php. Hopefully help will be on the way soon, but if not, I'm stuck adding members by hand via phpMyAdmin, which is NO fun at all.

Speaking of fun, Harley issued a challenge-- which I just completed! But, since I'm still editing, writing WDKY10, moving author's notes and review replies, I won't post the ficlet in this entry. Next one, coming soon, I swear. I'm not so exhausted anymore (but still enough to want to go to sleep this early. Gaaah). I still have tons to do... ^^;

And on the note of challenges, I have one of my own. Seto's Magical Briefcase! )

Obviously, I'm deranged or something. Here is Harley's challenge, and my answer to it is here...

Don't look at Harley's challenge unless
a) you have no intention of doing it-- though it could work for any fandom!
b) you've already done it
or
c) you're going to do it the moment you see the phrase (have your word processor open and your timers ready!)

30 Minutes seemed to go on forever... )

Aaand now I'm off to see who else responded to the challenge. I know Mamono did, so I'll read her ficlet, which is probably loads better than mine.

Urgh... yes on psychology, beauty, glbt rights, shiney things (though it should be SHINY things), emily strange, and quite possibly something corporate. Big no on anxiety attacks, emo, mutilation, depression, injury, and boys in eyeliner. And wtf is slave labor graphics!?

I'm so tired, and I really need to be going to sleep. On the plus side, I worked minorly on two scenes from WDKY10, leaving only... well, a huge chunk more. I'd say which ones, but then I'd spoil. I think now is the time to call on Atlantis, Mamono and Harlequine, because I know what scenes have yet to occur, but I can't seem to put them into prose. HEEEEEEEEEEELP!

X_X Gah, and dishes, laundry, packing, burning, etc. etc... so much to do. Not enough carbohydrates, motivation, and imagination... sleeeeeeep...

I want my ringtones, dammit!
