azurite: (maigo asskick)
Okay, so I've determined that my Giant Purple Box of manga and manga related supplies is far too heavy and conspicuous, and knowing my Dad and his swaying change of heart, re: manga and anime, I plan to SMUGGLE my anime and manga to LA. This shall be done by packing all my clothes in layers in said Box, and putting layers of manga in between. This will be harder to do with such things as my How to Draw Manga books and Anime Companion, but it must be done. For the sake of my sanity-- in LA.

So far, I've got most of my closet clothes (skirts, dresses, blouses) in the Giant Purple Box, along with my smaller manga (Star Ocean, Yu-Gi-Oh, Full Moon o Sagashite, Peach Girl, and Hana Yori Dango). I've started layering the larger manga (Pretear, and eventually Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) in with what I have left. It's a huge bummer to have not found my Peach Girl 18 cover, so what I'm going to have to resort to is to place a special order to Kinokuniya for 18 again. Maybe they can ship it to LA for extra? Either that or Mom can pick it up and send it to me... I don't know... But in any case, I find it useless to have a coverless manga (the cover is half the reason to buy it Japanese anyway!). So if anyone wants to snag my coverless, perfect-condition Peach Girl 18, I'll let you have it for $4 (US). That's $2.50 less than I bought it for, mind you... a great deal, considering the English one is going to be $10 at least, and will completely butcher the artwork. :)

And as for all the mayhem of yesterday? Well, color me confused. Because I never got through to CSUN. The line was busy. I *did* find out that I'm not eligible for work-study, so it just gives me all the more incentive to work at Border's (dream come true) or one of the other stores in the Mall (Claire's, Afterthoughts, Teen Nation, Hot Topic...) If worse comes to worse, I can apply to work at the Pacific Theaters. ^_^ Hehe, I have LOADS of experience! And, speaking of college and money-- the supposed amount I owe is no longer listed as a hold. Remember how I said my Anticipated Aid was more than they claimed I owed them? And that yesterday was the due date, or you get disenrolled? Well, it seems I'm still enrolled, and there's no more financial holds, but now it says something about 'Undergraduate Studies' which I suppose means the Freshman Orientation?

I still need to get an address to send the ScholarShare info to-- I don't want to be paying loads of money for my books. Hey, for all you college students out there, how do you know which books to get? Do you find out the first day of school, or do they mail you some sort of thingy??? <-- n00b.

>_o Hmm, in the Financial Section, it still lists that amount as not being paid, but again, my AA is more than the amount I owe. I'm even supposed to have $500+ leftover! That should cover books, right...? Maybe I should hold off on disbursing the ScholarShare until next year or something? *shrugs* And I still need to talk to someone about why my SATs and Transcript are still "required," when I submitted my final ones when I applied. -_-

Okay, so Steph, Eva, and I (I believe that is the group) are heading to the Century 20 at 4:00 to see "The Notebook." I'm going to take [livejournal.com profile] wickeddawn's advice and bring a box of tissues. Steph'll be paying for my ticket (she says they're only $6! o_O) which is uber-nice of her-- I'll have to make it up to her by having a totally fandango birthday thang for her. :)

I still have to upload the SMRFF awards from last year, finish up a few more that need tweaking (animation = HUUUGE load time!), and then set up the polls for this year. Oh yeah, and FINISH PACKING! I'm going crazy.

I guess that's what I get for having Froot Loops for breakfast. I'm all frooty now. Ah well. Come what may!
