Iitoshi no tameni...
Jun. 14th, 2004 03:50 amDon't interpret the subject title as anything; it's just the title of what I'm listening to at the moment. Ya'll know I don't even HAVE a "darling." Bleh. Just what I need, more reminders to scum up my summer. Yeah, so in case you haven't guessed, I HATE SUMMER. Call me weird or whatever, I just do.
I get lethargic, unproductive, horribly out of shape, bored, and wasteful. Not to mention lonely, depressed, and all the other usuals that come with Michelle's memorial. This will be year 8 or 9... I'm too tired to figure it out exactly.
Stuff:
(1) Fixed most of the problems with BEA... but the Join form still isn't doing what it's supposed to. No, that's a lie, it is, but the admin.php page, for some bizarre reason, is not saying I have members that need approval. And I know that I do. So I'm waiting again, for someone on CodeGrrl.com to get back to me-- and others having this same problem.
(2) The error on country.php with the flags and the individual country pages was fixed. :) Yay.
(3) There is something messed up with the join.php, country.php, and members.php pages-- I don't know why, but in the middle of the page, where the body is, the table is bigger than it is supposed to be (670 pixels). I'm controlling all the table widths using a Style Sheet, so I don't know why this is happening... if anyone knows, tell me, because I'm flabbergasted.
I finished "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," and I must say, I wanna choke the new director. Don't get me wrong, I love Draco's new hairdo, and the Marauder's Map looked wicked cool, but after reading the book, the movie, in contrast, seems like a big disappointment. Just to skim a few of the major differences... (and many of these Steph and Katia pointed out to me as well):

See, now the movie has diverged from the book canon enough to be a fandom in and of itself. They changed a lot of details that actually DO make a difference.
In other news:
(1) I still can't find my Peach Girl 18 cover, and it's pissing me off. I'm 88.95% sure that I was flattening it under some kind of heavy book (probably a phone book), but I've looked under all of them, and I still have no luck. o_O What if I really did throw it out!? ;_; I'd just end up buying the book all over again, just to get the stinkin' cover. Damn it, what a waste. I hate being so... lossy.
(2) On the subject of Peach Girl, I'm currently scanlating the special Sae side-story. If I do it as pickily as I typically do, it might be a while before it's out... in the meanwhile, I can make a textlation and scan a few specific shots, as they do for Hana Yori Dango. There's also a "Which Sae are you?" quiz in FRIEND, the tankubon the story is in... I suppose I could attempt to translate that too, and make a Quizilla version with the original results scanned in and touched up with Photoshop.
(3) Working on various fics-- skipping around from TLC (only two more scenes to go), Prophecy Girl (mostly ideas for later chapters; I need some sort of starting point for Ch. 3) and WDKY (various scenes... lots to go). There's actually been some annoying fangirling lately, with people going "But you said--!!" -.- This is the definitive source, right here.
I DO NOT PROMISE ANYTHING.
There. Oh yeah, and for the umte-friggin-th time, POP AND MASH WILL NOT BE CONTINUED! THEY ARE ONESHOTS! AUGH!!!
Do you think eating an entire box of raspberries and an entire box of blueberries constitutes a serving of both fruits? I like raspberries. I like sticking them on my fingers and sucking them off. Hehe. Blueberries are quite tart though-- it's no wonder some genius decided to dump them in his sugary cereal and claim they were doing good. They taste better in milk.
I'm tempted to work on "Something to Somebody" or "The Rose Chronicles..." and speaking of the latter, I still need to do research re: layers and those damn scrolly images. I didn't go to all that effort making that layout for nothing, ya know!
Video game-wise, I might put SO2 on hold so I can ATTEMPT to beat Evrae and the rest of FFX (I figure I have a lot to go, but I just wanna see the cool cut-scenes from the wedding) ... plus there's Persona, which I'm doing blindfolded, but it's still a cool game.
Again, if I could pull money out of a hat, I would be going to ASUX, buying my own copies of Persona and FFX, and... I don't know, eating ice cream.
Well, at least the RP is active. It's been fun these past few days.
Weird convos today:
(1) Baine. She friggin' made a PGSM mood icon for EVERY SINGLE MOOD. There are 132 of them, I think. And who uses them all!? I mean seriously. What is QUIXOTIC, anyway?
(2) Sean. He brings up stuff I said via AIM 2 years ago. I don't even remember half of it. Some of it's funny, and most of it makes me feel bad. People, stop logging my IMs, dammit!
(3) Roleplay people. We have come to the grand conclusion that Yugi is a starfish, Seto looks like a balloon, and Shizuka is one hell of an actress.
Oh, and if you haven't heard already: Homer's Iliad in Netspeak!!
Now, I'm sure you're wondering where the actual thing (trIM Troy) can be found-- well, it was supposed to be up on MSN.UK, but it vanished. Thank Zeus for caches! Everything is in images, so I've saved them and will give you a tasty sampler...
This is the one that was making waves-- Book 2 was reduced to 24 words. Remember, the original Iliad was over 5 books long (the 5 books featured by MSN Messenger are the ones that revolve around the movie "Troy.") Troy is based on the events of the Iliad's final books.
What a summer this is going to be.
