Myths and Legends
May. 20th, 2004 04:24 pmWell... Angel finally came to an end. And in regards to who died, yeah, I knew it was going to be Wesley. When a guy loses so much in a single series or stretch of time, you just know he can't keep going on in the mortal plane. And when he said he didn't PLAN on dying, you knew he was lying through his teeth. I half hoped he would just start feeling something for Illyria anyway, but that would be pretty OOC of Wes. Still, him GETTING to Illyria is what rocked. I'm glad she survived the battle. She's such an ass-kicker.
I was a bit dismayed at Lorne shooting Lindsey, but it was only AFTER the episode was long over that it occurred to me that Angel had ASKED Lorne to do that. Why else would he have Lorne go with Lindsey in the first place? Not to mention, how would Angel have known to tell Eve that Lindsey wasn't coming for her? Still, I thought Lindsey was ubercool in this past episode, and it was pretty sad when he died. I kinda wanted to kick Lorne. But the way it all went down, I guess it had to happen that way, and it made sense that Lorne was going to leave.
The thing about the Shanshu prophecy... no. Something about the way Angel signed it has me wondering... well, he's not really ANGEL, is he? That's just a name he adopted. He's Liam, Liam is his soul. If he becomes human, that's who he'll be again, no matter WHAT he calls himself. So I think he's still up for the Shanshu prophecy. And if not, hey, SPIKE! :DDD
The open-ending was pretty good, but as always you wanna shoot Joss Whedon. And if I were Sarah Michelle Gellar, married to FPrince or not, I would MAKE time to do a guest slot, no matter how big or small, for a show that was so utterly formulated by her and her role as Buffy. It seriously disappointed me that she never made a real appearance in the show. And she WOULD have been good in the final episode, which she WAS available for. :P Her, Faith... all of 'em. I'm glad to know that the RPers aren't quitting.
Whedon mentioned something about TV movies... which means Angel will not die! I hate how they implied Gunn would. Gunn is too cool to die. 'Nuff said.
As for Smallville... I missed the first half, so the whole falling-out with Lex was something I didn't get. I knew it had to happen, but... And why did Chloe and her Dad get blown up in that house!? Why were they even moving? And what's happening to the Talon? (And god, Lex and Lana would make a stinkin' good couple, but that's so mean of me to say.) Also, semi-worried about Mr. Kent. I totally thought that the girl "Kara" was really Supergirl. And then they throw in this last minute thing about how she was a Meteor Victim and is just a reanimated dead body.
GRRR! You know, bringing Supergirl into the mix could seriously make things interesting. And as for Lex? Someone poisoned his brandy? HMMM. I wonder. Lionel really pisses me off, but apparently even from jail he can still pull some evil strings. He looks like a chain-gang member now, with that buzz cut. Do they really make you cut your hair when you go to prison? WHY!? But so far, we know that Lana and Pete are safe... right? RIGHT?
Anyway. Sent off "Family" and "The Rose Chronicles" (both at Ch. 1) to Mamono... and the latter fic to Svelte Rose, Snapdragon-chan, and Yami) White Rain for review. Hopefully I'll get some decent feedback with them both... see what I might need to tweak and whatnot. I should try and play more DoR, being stuck as I am in FFX-2 (I can start over from Cloister 0 and try to level up, but yeesh, 60 floors!?), but I was stuck on Mako last time I dueled. Stupid Deck Leader. I have to find out the order and placement of the Duelists, though.
*yawn* I suppose I should try and bring all those beer bottles my mom has stashed up to Safeway and get some cash. Cash would be nice. But I've been in the most intense pain the past day or so-- my back, my head... and I've built up an immunity to ibuprofen or something, because even 600 mg doesn't seem to do much. That's like, an overdose for someone of my weight. And to quote from Holly, my ovaries hurt. BAH!

Hm. Does anyone native to SF remember the Limited that was downtown, and the Limited TOO that was upstairs? Whatever happened to that place-- I mean, what did it get turned into? I can't even remember where it was.
