Struck down by a case of the mood swings!
Sep. 27th, 2003 02:02 pmOy vey. Let's start at the beginning, but make it quick, because I have to hop in the shower and be outta here by 2:30 so I can get to work on time.
Joe picked me up last night with Chuck and Jimbo-- luckily I got shotgon the first time around, so no squishage! We met Mark (Marc?), his friend Alan (Allan?) and Vince over at Mark's old house, which he is moving out of tomorrow... then we all headed to this bowling alley near Mark's new place. Now, I don't know Daly City very well, but I thought Serra Bowl was the only alley in the area. WRONG. The place we ended up at was in a sort of complex, not really a mall, but many of the places looked closed, and there weren't any restauranuts or the like-- I'd been hoping to stop by In-N-Out or something, since I, along with many other passengers in the car, was hungry! I think the PMSing started there, because I was so irritable at NOT being at Serra Bowl that I think I hurt Mark's feelings. It was bad enough I was the only girl in the party and I felt like the extra wheel, but it was just weird in general, you know? I'm sorry for hurting Mark's feelings though, if I did, and since we seemed to be on better terms later on, I think he got over my brief bout of bitchiness.
Yeah, so turns out I was actually PMSing with the real mood swings and everything. This is a journal-worthy event merely because it has NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE. I swear. Not that I remember, anyway. But honestly, the mood swings were knocking me left and right all over the mood platter, like a crane ball or a pendulum! One minute happy, next minute sad, whining over getting a gutter ball and then being furiously angry! Actually, we ate at the one bowling alley, but it turned out to be too crowded and too expensive to bowl there. So we ended up going to Serra Bowl-- it just had to be my luck on the way out that I spotted Jesse Anderson (GRR! AUGH! DIE!!) so I hightailed it out of there first, praying he didn't see me. Everyone else came out soon afterwards, and off to Serra we went!
Serra Bowl was considerably less crowded, it seemed, but the rates didn't seem all that different-- unless you paid by the person and by the game. Joe, overly-generous and too-nice guy that he is, ended up paying for EVERYONE for two hours. Games, shoes, the whole nine yards. I swear to god he is TOO DARN NICE! MAKE IT STOP! It's like what I just read in Stormlight's untitled FY fic... Joe's like a glorified candy cane. Yeah. o_O It's a good thing, but seriously, SWEEEEEEET. The guy's gonna steal my name from me, I swear. :P
So we played a few games-- I was horrible, of course, being out of practice, plus the alley was incredibly slippery. I did manage to snag a 6 lb. ball, which made things easier (I'm so weak!) but all in all, I SUCKED. Which wasn't doing much for my mood-- come the fourth game (we had 2 hours of time) I dropped out and settled for reading fairy tales. On the bright side, I did get ONE strike in a single game... ^^; I dunno, I just can't bowl with a) guys, b) guys that are tons better than me, and c) so many of said guys watching me as I bowl. ^////^;
Afterwards, we went back to Mark's house to eat donuts we'd snagged from Krispy Kreme, and play Simpson's monopoly. The time flew, and before we knew it, our ride home was 3 hours late! Meaning, Joe had to be home-- NOW. So we packed up and left-- but not before I spotted this cool book from Time-Life on Egypt! Whee! I can never have enough Egypt books! And if I ever travel, I wanna go to Japan, Hong Kong, and EGYPT! :D True, I was stupid in spending $10 on it, but then again, you can't really find those kinda books in stores... So it will be my choice reading for the day-- at least for the boring bus rides.
Anywho, I have to get into the shower and into my uniform now so I can leave by 2:45 at the latest. ^.~ Gotta book it, see ya!
