azurite: (please die)
In my ranting about the wedding, I forgot a comment Erin made to me. She asked me if I ever did any drugs-- if I was a pothead. And most of you guys probably know, given my experiences with my Mom, you know I'd never touch anything remotely like weed (or anything else "druggy" for that matter) with a 1,000,000,000 foot pole. So this was kind of hurtful, because she said I looked like it. o_O Which is weird, because I don't see how you can TELL whether someone smokes weed by looking at them. Not to mention, I always thought SHE looked more the part than I did, with her eyes almost always half-closed and this sort of STONED expression on her face.

I mean, it was weird enough seeing her and Shaina (who is a recovering anorexic) almost DESPERATELY trying to get drunk off the provided beer (it was either beer, lemonade, wine, or diet coke-- I had lemonade, because I don't like beer, just straight up liquor. ;P) and stuff-- arguing when one poured champagne into the white wine glasses or weird stuff like that. And they told me that Michael and Brooke actually met under... er, not so legal circumstances? Well one thing's for sure, I'm not a UCSC fan-- between my first impression and being asked if I was there to go to the "Sexcapades" and all this stuff I hear from Shaina, it certainly doesn't seem like an institute of learning! I understand that a lot of this is expected college behavior, but eew! Call me a purist or whatever, but I don't smoke, don't drink to get drunk (rarely), and I DO NOT, WILL NOT, SHALL NOT do drugs. I've seen first hand how all those things f*ck up your life, and I don't see any reason to risk getting in trouble for it, let alone wasting money. So, why bother?

I was in an INVU trip (and I'll get back into it shortly) but for now, I'm catching up on the Blissfill Ignorance forums and checking out all the delicious fics recently posted. I will most definitely have to start the Archive Obscura soon, so I can put up a FMP page! :D

@_@ Okay, looking for INVU goodness. Already made myself a character page, though I need images to go with it. Whee... I've got a headache.

;_; Okay, so I woke up today, after 3:30 or so because I was zonked yesterday, and now here I am, doing my bestest to fulfill my role as a holiday mod and get the damn Mamo Week 2003 Awards DONE already, so I can do the Best Overall poll and finish THAT award, and then worry about TAFF day and the upcoming Winter Holiday Fic Bonanza month. X_X BUT NOOOO, my plans must go awry! And not foiled by any hero, either!

Nah, my own evil technology likes to crap out on me. So much for me being the ultra-villaness. Now I need help. I'm running ZNES 1.00 (I know, I know, it's OLD-- that's why I'm downloading version 1.36!) and trying to take screenshots of the diary in Sailor Moon: Another Story.

Do not say "Why don't you go look for the sprites online?" because I already tried! Anyway, so I want to grab a nice, large version of the diary screen, and along with it, the background that is used throughout the game-- that green one that says 'Sailormoon' on it? I can't find that bg anywhere, and I need it for my awards-- of course, I don't want to go into acute detail, but just help me out here, okay? Please?

My problem is that I cannot seem to take screenshots. I tried the usual-- Print Screen. Didn't work-- nothing copied to the clipboard. Then I tried Alt-Print Screen, but that didn't work either; I think that's for SNES 9.x only. I'll try some others, including the movie option, but even with my ancient DOS-based version of ZSNES 1.00, I remember doing SOMETHING that took an instant screenshot of whatever was on the screen at the time, and changed it to a PCX or IPX (something like that) file. I already took all of the existing screenshots of that extension (I can't remember what it really was) and changed them to GIFs, so I don't know what it is or how to do it. I've looked online too, but it doesn't seem to help much.

Since Windows XP doesn't have any support for the new DOS-based ZSNES, I'm sticking to the Windows-based version I just downloaded-- I don't know if that makes any difference in the GUI or the HotKeys, but can anyone help me out here? Seriously, MUST HAVE SCREENSHOTS! :) Thanks...

[EDIT]: Okay, so I figured out about the special F1 menu that says 'save screenshot' and all, but I don't see the PCX or BMP files anywhere in the directory where the ROM I am playing (smas_eng.smc) is. Now what!?

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII EVERYBODY! *waits for everyone to respond*
Oh, come on, HUMOR ME!
Everyone: HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII MER!
:D That's better!

Guess what? Guess what? Guess what?
Everyone: *monotone* What?

It's Joe's birthday on the 19th! Not just any birthday, either. THE BIG... THE HUGE. THE FANTABULOUSO, ABSATIVELY POSLUTELY 'RAGEOUS...

21st BIRTHDAY!

Whew. ;) And, being the nice person I am, I offerred my house as a party zone. So all that's left is for everyone to come and celebrate 21 years of Joe! ;D YAY!

Here's the plan:
When: Friday, September 19th, beginning at approximately 5pm
Where: My house. If you need the address, phone number, or directions, AIM/call me. You should know how to reach me by now. If you don't, ask Joe. He knows, too.
What: A party. I thought we'd established that by now?
Why: Because we want to? ^^;
Who: You. And Joe. And me, cuz it's my house.

What are we going to do? Good question! We have lots of room, lots of tech stuff to play with, and a fantastic stereo system. Not to mention a faboo cook. *bats eyelashes* Hehee. It all depends on who comes and who wants to do what, but we can set up several TVs for anime-watching and video-game playing on various systems-- though it's highly recommended you bring your own games, controllers, and memory cards, since my stash consists mainly of an old SNES, a PSX, and a few RPGs. ^^;

We also have lots of fun games-- everything from the classics (Poker, Monopoly, Clue) to the outrageous (Hilarium, among others). Why games? Because it's a birthday party, and because I said so.

But since we'll be dragging you away from your Oh So Exciting Friday Festivities, we've also decided to entice you with the promise of food! We're not sure what kind of food yet, but if everyone wants Pizza or Chinese, we can order-- just make sure to bring a few bucks to chip in, since this is a birthday party, and "Teh Birthday Boy" shouldn't have to pay for anything. ;P We ask that everyone TRY to bring a bag of chips or soda or something-- even 2 bags of cookies would work. But I can't let EVERYONE raid my fridge, and we can probably only afford so much delivery/takeout... ;)

Finally, bring presents! Because it's a birthday, and how many of you need the perfect excuse to pay Joe back already? ^_^ Hahaa...

Festivities will continue all night long-- we'll watch movies, play games, eat food, and generally party like a bunch of unsupervised teens and semi-adults should on a Friday night! Go us! The following day (Saturday) we'll go to Sunnyvale Golfland and play video games until we're numb in the knuckles! It's recommended that people bring money for that too-- and if a lot of people want to go to SVGL, we ask people to either volunteer as drivers or figure out how to get there, cuz I sure as heck don't know-- and CalTrain is weird on the weekends. o_O

So, in summary:
Party on Friday, September 19th, beginning at 5pm at Casa de la Sweet (aka My House).
Continues till Saturday the 20th, when we go to SVGL, until people get sick of the place and/or are broke.
People should bring money for food, transportation, and SVGL games.
People should bring a gift or a card or whatever money they owe Joe, since it's his birthday, and it'd be tacky and rude not to.
People CAN (and are highly encouraged) to bring food, so we don't waste money.
No, my annoying mom will not be there. :)

SOOOOOO... ARE YOU IN!?
