azurite: (please die)
Well. Pirates of the Caribbean was a great movie, to be sure, but I had a lousy time there. I wish I'd waited and gone to see it with Jonathan when he got back... and maybe if I do, I'll have a better time, and miserable memories shall be erased. Bah, I should have thought twice. Free movies always sound good, but... gah, I just shouldn't have gone. Not this week. Nothing has been going smoothly for me this week. Well.

That's not the total truth, really. See, 'cause Dad helped me with that Exploratorium hookup, and yesterday, after much tireless editing and fixing up of my resume the night before, I got Joemi (nice guy!) to print me out some copies, since my printer is still being sub...level. And he did that, and he burned me a CD of AX2K3 AMVs, which include "Stop the Rock," and "The Chibi Things (That Kill)!" Hehe... Gave him back his SDK, but there was no manga exchange (not that I'd have anything he'd want to borrow anyway). But I do want to read "Battle Royale 2." Maybe I'll devote one day this upcoming week to ME ME ME ME ME and just go to the library, to Border's, to wherever, and do what the hell I want without worrying about MEAN PEOPLE!! *coughcough*

Yeah, well, Joemi was nice enough to give me a ride to the Exploratorium (that area is so windey, it's very hard to find the correct turns-- and you guys know me, I suck at giving directions). Luckily, the guy at the front didn't charge me admission (he ALMOST did) and I went to the office to drop of my resumes. They didn't have any open positions for explainers/docents or people in the Exploratorium store, which is only a partial bummer after I was reminded of exactly what it was like inside! The HR Assistant job looks really good, and I hope I get it... But I have been getting a few calls, and it's not like I haven't applied to anything else. So now, I wait. I wandered around the Exploratorium for a little bit-- it really is a place to go with your friends or family, 'cause it's awful lonely in there all by yourself. It was 4 o'clock before I knew it, so I had to head out to catch the bus home, do the dishes, and then meet everyone at the Metreon.

Went home JUST to do the dishes. Got them all done, scrubbed them clean, and actually felt pretty good doing it too (!)... Mom comes home, and she's plesantly surprised, but when I start to tell her about how excited I am about the job, she starts saying she's going to start making me pay her rent, and I still owe her $20 for developing my Fanime pics! ;_; GEEZ! And she even said Michelle would have started paying rent too! Forget this, Michelle would have up and left! *sigh* I really want to...

Anyway, so I finally left for the Metreon, in a much less pleasant mood than I HAD been, thanks to a certain parental unit. Blah. She kept saying, "You choose how you feel" and stuff-- but honestly, aren't feelings and emotions just chemical reactions in our brain-- reactions to what other people say, what other people PROVOKE us into feeling? Sure, no two people are the same when watching a sappy movie or a blood-filled angst-fest, but 90% of the time, certain "trigger phrases" will get the same feeling out of two totally different people. And Mom ruining my so-far-then-good day was one of them. *sigh*

Went to McDonalds and spent the last of my money on food- even bought Chris K. a McChicken, as per his request... and he still owes me $1. Blah. Orlando Bloom was awfully cute in the POTC posters they had at McD's, but the gold I sought was not the gold of the fries. Once again, didn't finish them. Guess depression and anger ruined my appetite this time around. I smuggled the leftovers of the food into the theater (nicely threw away my trash in my OWN backpack, thankyouverymuch) when we went in, found the others... some people arrived a touch late though. In any case, great movie-- I hardly noticed it was long. Fantastic music, great action, and the CG was pretty damn good too-- then again, it is ILM, and being a Marin-girl by birth, you know I'm an ILM fangirl.

And a Johnny Depp fangirl, and an Orlando Bloom fangirl, and a Kiera Knightley fangirl, too. But noooo, some people don't like it when others are excited and enjoying themselves. Stupid Jimmy-- what was I thinking, sitting next to him? He kept telling me to shut up when I was giggling (with my hands in front of my face!) and stuff-- why didn't HE just move if it bothered him so much? We had nearly an entire row empty on the left side, he could have moved down! And if I was being "so noisy" then why weren't any other movie patrons complaining, HUH!? And AT THE MOST, I only had fangirl moments, THREE, MAYBE FOUR times in the whole flick! *humph* Once I knew I was out of bounds because I was rocking the seat, and I tried to stop-- even *I* was embarassed then, but I didn't need Joe (even though he was nice enough to treat, I'll pay him back so I don't have guilt!) telling Jimmy every time I giggled that "it was worse in Daredevil." BAH! This just goes to show who your true friends are-- and AREN'T!

Blah. You know, as we left, people didn't even notice I was there. Mostly got treated like shit and/or ignored, which as you know, is not a fun feeling. And ranting about this, while taking some ouch from my shoulders, has made me late to class.

You know, as we left-- they didn't even say goodbye as I left. And you know what? Neither will I.

Okay, I'm getting REAL fed up with all my media players. Hey, that could have been a pun or something right there. Anyway, here is the problem:
REAL PLAYER - Not compatible with all file types, i.e. WMVs. Otherwise, pretty good.

WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Cuts off anywhere from 20 seconds to the first or last HALF of anything I try to show (i.e. video files) no matter what I do; the only exception is for files "in the middle" of a playlist; that is, not at the beginning, and not at the end. Tried to upgrade it, but I have the latest version.

WINAMP - I use it for listening to MP3s and such, and since I don't have lots of RMs or RAs, I don't worry about their incompatibility with them. Besides, those file types are of low-grade quality anyhow. =P But when it comes to video, if it's a WMV (the only other player besides Windows Media Player) it inverts or screws with all the colors. Shows everything, but... =P Plus the video size is kinda small, and resizing it messes with the timing somehow.

DiVX - The best of the best, but not compatible with everything. =P

*sigh* So what should I do? I really need to start burning MP3s and AMVs onto CDs (so many acronyms!) since they're taking up a LOT of space on my hard drive.

Looking for that website, ARTICLES, where they have ALL these home furnishing and decorating stuff, and I remember I hung onto one issue that I really liked-- I think I'll try (key word being TRY) and find it, if I can't find the website. They had some cool stuff in there. *yawn* One bowl of cereal, and finish checking my email... then bed.

I guess I'll go to RTA tomorrow.
