Mer needs a new media player
Jul. 17th, 2003 11:22 pmOkay, I'm getting REAL fed up with all my media players. Hey, that could have been a pun or something right there. Anyway, here is the problem:
REAL PLAYER - Not compatible with all file types, i.e. WMVs. Otherwise, pretty good.
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Cuts off anywhere from 20 seconds to the first or last HALF of anything I try to show (i.e. video files) no matter what I do; the only exception is for files "in the middle" of a playlist; that is, not at the beginning, and not at the end. Tried to upgrade it, but I have the latest version.
WINAMP - I use it for listening to MP3s and such, and since I don't have lots of RMs or RAs, I don't worry about their incompatibility with them. Besides, those file types are of low-grade quality anyhow. =P But when it comes to video, if it's a WMV (the only other player besides Windows Media Player) it inverts or screws with all the colors. Shows everything, but... =P Plus the video size is kinda small, and resizing it messes with the timing somehow.
DiVX - The best of the best, but not compatible with everything. =P
*sigh* So what should I do? I really need to start burning MP3s and AMVs onto CDs (so many acronyms!) since they're taking up a LOT of space on my hard drive.
Looking for that website, ARTICLES, where they have ALL these home furnishing and decorating stuff, and I remember I hung onto one issue that I really liked-- I think I'll try (key word being TRY) and find it, if I can't find the website. They had some cool stuff in there. *yawn* One bowl of cereal, and finish checking my email... then bed.
I guess I'll go to RTA tomorrow.
