azurite: (mer)
I'm not sure whether to be paranoid or excited or just plain happy about today and tomorrow. It started out with me feeling so tired-- you ever notice that when you think you get enough sleep, you're always so tired the next day? And I'd caffeine-ated myself up with Irish Creme cocoa... and by 6th period, a cherry coke. Nada. I was zzzz... when I got home!

BUT BUT flashback, flashback! Okay, I went to the young women's health conference yesterday (and thank god I was excused in advance, or my teachers might have thrown a hissy fit for being absent Monday and Tuesday, too) and it was okay... the best part was when we heard the keynote speakers talk-- there was the hilarity of Sarah Jones and Marga Gomez, the inspiration of Senator Jackie Spiers and two World Cup ladies' soccier champs, and of course, the fabulous moving poetry of Janice Mirikatani. I loved the Open Mic, too, though after eating all that (and they had oatmeal raisin cookies, too! YUMMMMM!!) I was tired and pretty much fell asleep until Open Mic ended. But some girls had a lot of courage to get up there and sing, read poetry, dance, and tell us about themselves. After the whole thing was over, I went to the Main Library and buried myself in books and such... I got a bunch of books on Journalism, a mushy romance, a Wiccan story, Scott Cunningham's 'Wicca for the Solitary Practicioner' and the first tape of Neon Genesis Evangelion. One of my goals is to actually give that anime a chance, with the hope that I might actually understand it one day. @_@

Okay, flashing forward to earlier today-- I was finally starting to wake up just after 6th period... Koski had me doing filing AGAIN-- GOD, IT NEVER ENDS! I went to my SFSU math class and promptly got lost in something I should have understood. That pisses me off-- that while I'm repeating my math class and all the work is familiar, I can never find my old work (when I did my work) and copy that now to turn in. We had a sub today in math, so I narrowly escaped (so I think) turning in all my last work (of which there is too much) and my POW 5 (which I aced last year, damnit I hope Marcella brings it in tomorrow). Gah. BUT BUT BUT guess who called me right at the end of 6th!?

MIKE! I was like... "Oh. My. God." Haha, he's got a cell now, so he's a conformist, yay us. Since I had to get to my math class (not to mention since the damned walls at Wash are like, lead-plated) we didn't get to talk for very long, but it was so cool hearing from him again-- since I hadn't seen him online any, I figured he was either extremely busy or dropped off the face of the planet. So yes, now as an excuse, I have to get working on that AMV for him I started so long ago... not to mention collaborating with Vince to send him updates of anime. The poor fellow has been reduced to 56K where he is (haha, now you know what it feels like!!). So yeah. I think he hasn't seen/doesn't remember This is Otakudom, so maybe I can get Vince to make him a copy of it-- yesterday at FX, Joe G. gave me his for some reason, but I'm not complaining-- I love the parody and will gladly watch it when I'm a) bored; b) depressed or c) trying to convert more people to anime. For some reason Randy (from TIO) reminds me of Mike... @_@;;

I went to Media Academy, and am working with Jasmin and another girl (eeks, I forgot her name!) for our website-- our decided theme is "Fashion and how it affects teenagers." So we're looking for local fashion and surfing the web, saving pictures of all these models. My idea was to do something like that picture in teen magazines-- it's of a girl whose body is made up of those Polaroid sticky-pics, and each part of her is doing something different. One part of her is wearing biking gear, another is playing a violin, another is wearing ice skates, and other is holding a paintbrush, another is dancing-- but it all looks like one person, even if the clothes are all different. So that's what we're going to do-- one for guys, one for girls, and each section will focus on a different aspect of fashion. Sadly, I got ill in the middle of class, and had to excuse myself until it was almost over. But it was cool for when I was there, showing everyone (even Jessica, the teacher!) how to make brushes in Photoshop and how to make a repeating background (which didn't turn out great, but I think I got the basic concept down).

I came home (Mom was outside talking to her friend) and I promptly fell asleep after putting the groceries away (eew fat free milk! eew eew eew!). Once again,I unfortunately underestimated the amount of time I "needed" to nap, and didn't wake up till 9 (when I'd set my alarm for 7:15 after going to sleep at 6:00). Mike called (shock) because he had something to show me online... hehe, a piccie of him... speaking of, I have to update Snapshot soon. More pics! I should get around to doing collages and the like as well.

Okay, besides getting ill (probably from eating so many Thin Mints... they're delicious but deadly in excess! Ilene gave them to me yesterday at the AFX meeting) the one bad point of my day was reading an email from someone I've been helping out lately-- I have this page that has all the Sailor Moon DVDs and VHS on it, for inventory purposes. I was telling her where to get them, why some tapes/DVDs didn't have certain episodes and what format they were in... etc. I told her that her best bet for actually BUYING the DVDs (I don't have many actually featured on my page) was on Amazon.com... and then after I read another email from me, she says that she "doesn't like liars" and is angry at me for "getting her hopes up" and decieving people! She says that despite going to Amazon.com and searching for 'Sailor Moon,' she didn't come up with any of them, and unless "my" "website" (she put it in quotes just like that) was down in 24 hours, she'd report me (to whom!? for doing WHAT!?). I responded in kind, asking her just what she thought I'd done wrong, how I'd "decieved" her, and, just because I'm a nice person, I gave her the exact link to the Amazon.com search results for Sailor Moon VHS and DVD. I wonder if she'll even reply now. Hmph.

does this mean i'm indalecio's bitch? )

It's past 11 now, and I probably should be getting to sleep soon -I should wake up early tomorrow and attempt to throw together what I remember of POW5 from last year. I have a deck of cards in my purse anyhow.. >_> Yeah, and since Diesel's on the Sojurn to the Past trip in the Deep South, Journalism is really laid back... today I was so zonked that I slept through most of the period, since the newspaper hadn't arrived yet. Something to do with images and fonts that didn't get sent. Argh... Anyhow, it should come tomorrow, and since I don't have any more pending English assignments (did my essay for "A Summer's Reading" and "Eveline" in about 20 minutes, and I thought it was pretty damn good) I'll probably be spending lunch in there doing whatever online. Maybe playing DOOM. Ooh yeah. Today Colleen was nice enough to grab some cinnamon raisin bagels for me and Cassie... mm, yummers. They started watching "Escaflowne: The Movie" in anime club, and I told Murphy-Thomas that we should watch "This is Otakudom" next... but he doesn't want to take his VCR out from the ceiling hookup so that we can show it on the projector like we have been with the DVD -iMac. *hiss* Darn, it's so cool that way.

Ooh, one more Mer-boo-boo: I didn't get my reservation for my cap and gown, so it looks like I'll be stuck rummaging through the pile on June 2nd. *sigh* BAKA! But all in all, today was very cool... yesterday was, too, to an extent, even though Harry came (for some shockingly scary reason) to Anime FX, and laughed like a psycho when I told him I had an Integra Type R for initialD. Grr. I still haven't beat Iketani (Harry wanted to race me, but I let Bryan do it instead while I DDRd-- and not that well, either-- I'm ashamed to say) yet, and it's pissing me off. I don't like wasting to much money on something that only stresses me though. I do love the game itself, and the anime's damn addictive too.

Hmm... the Star Ocean report-- I'm up to the last four of the Ten Wise Men, as I beat 3 in Fun City, and 3 more in the lobby of Fienal. So far, I tried to go against Decus and the other guy twice, but with no success. Grr... must train. Plus, I went to the Fun City survival battle again, and once again, in Round 31, the damn Weirdavia (wannabe Xine-bird) came out and kicked my ass. I need to figure out what killer moves to learn, as all the normal slashy ones don't seem to do much good on a flying monster from hell. Bah. I messed up in one part though; I didn't go to Fun City just before invading Fienal again, and I missed my chance to go get the Slayer's Ring. So now I'm stuck between leveling up *at* Fienal until I get to the last save point, at which I'll go ALL THE WAY BACK DOWN, go see how Reyfus is doing with those secret files (they're really quite illuminating, I love the SO2 backstory!) and then go to Fun City to get to the Cave of Trials (in which I will undoubtedly die repeatedly, but the Eternal Sphere, Funny Slayer, and Battle Suit should do me some good. Plus I finally know MIRROR SLICE!!) and train to kick some Indalecio-arse. *nod nod*

Okay, note to all DSL and anime collectors-- Mike's anime wish list (and I know I owe him):
* Love Hina
* Inuyasha (hmm, I need all the episodes past 73!)
* Azumanga Daioh
* Cowboy Bebop
* Chobits (need 24-26 myself)
* G-on Riders (hey, I want that too!)
* Ground Defense Force Mao-chan
* Najica Blitz Tactics

Hey, I thought this list was pretty varied, too. But okay, he's in New Jersey... where anime doesn't exist! But apparently they've got 5 DDReX machines there (in ONE arcade). @_@ Yikes. How many have we got? Two in the Metreon, one at RTA, one at SFSU... *scratches head* Anyway...

Blah, Battle of the Birds III is coming up. I'm debating going or not. I hate Lowell students though. I mean I *hate* them. Eva will probably go; she has every year since it started in our Freshman year, and I would take pride in seeing Lowell's ass kicked. Speaking of, our Student Body (SBC! HA!) posters are starting to look like those of Lowell's too, with that sort of handwriting and spray-painted pictures. It's scary. In any case, I probably will only end up going to Prom (god willing I have a date... the dress is a shoe-in at this rate) so... mm, yeah.

Damn, 11:40 already. Gotta jet. XOXO! And maybe see you tomorrow!
