Where, oh where has my appetite gone?
Jun. 18th, 2004 02:51 pmSo, aside from my sleep schedule being totally screwed up, I'm also unable to really eat anything properly. I can try, but I usually won't finish it. Which explains my lack of energy, motivation to do anything, and probably why I'm so lethargic. o_O I wonder what it means?
Well, the news doesn't help any. A guy in Iraq got BEHEADED. As in, head detached from body. >_< *sigh* And here Harry's leaving to go to "The Magical Land of Iraq" on the 20th. It's already the 18th, and we haven't hooked any plans to meet up with him... I know he wants to spend time with his family, and I'm TRYING -really quite hard- to be the optimist here, thinking that come on, this is Harry, nothing can get this guy down, and he'll be back in 6 months. I mean hey, Richard came back from Kuwait, but somehow that's not the same. And I know I'm not the only one that thinks Harry might 'accidentally' get himself into a situation that he can't get out of. Yes, I'm worried, yes, I'm freaked out.
I DO NOT WANT TO TURN ON THE NEWS ONE DAY AND FIND OUT MY FRIEND HAS BEEN BEHEADED!
If that's not enough to make you lose your appetite, I don't know what is. But I've had ENOUGH death to last me a lifetime, and I frankly don't think that more, on my FRIEND'S side is going to help my already shrink-case-worthy brain any more.
In somewhat happier news, it looks like I'm actually starting to get a schedule:
* Sunday, the 20th -- I haven't made plans with my Dad, but of course I'm going to call him and wish a Happy Father's Day. In lieu of any other plans, I plan on going to the Alice 97.3 SummerThing in Golden Gate Park, from 12-4. Anyone wanna come with me? Music, food, points... it's a bored teen's joyride.
* Thursday, the 24th -- I believe this is the day when FAITH closes its doors, but throws a big celebration with La Bouche to go out with a bang. I wanna go, and am awaiting more details from Fredsville.
* Week of June 27th - July 30th -- Usa Week. I REALLY need to get making layouts, awards, and all that jargon. Plus I might want to, OH I DON'T KNOW, maybe FINISH a Sailormoon fic!? Yeah, that'd be nice. *flat look*
* July 4th -- Well, since it's kind of moot at this point to think that I can magically/legally obtain $250 out of nowhere, I don't think I'll be doing the Anime Expo thing. And while it would be a nice idea to do the traditional Dad-and-Mer holiday where we watch fireworks, blow some of our own up, and barbecue some meat, it's a bit hard to do any of that on a horse ranch. SOOOOOO... Mike gave me a call earlier (!) and he's going to be in town that weekend; we're going to grab dinner somewhere and maybe watch the fireworks from the Docks. >_> It's a nice thought and everything, but I just keep thinking of the alternative (being in LA at Anime Expo... with people... and... blah. Yeah). So much for the optimist, ne?
Aiyah-- and now, two of my favorite men butt heads-- the director/star of "Super Size Me," and John Stossel. Looks like I'll be watching 20/20 tonight.
What else? Yesterday I wrote more of "The Rose Chronicles," though it's coming along slowly since I still have loads of research to do; does anyone know where I can find info about food, dress/fashion, and other similar things during the 1480s (England)? Believe you me, it's harder than it sounds. I keep seeing the same regurgitation of info wherever I go. I also wrote a bit of Chapter 3 and a HUGE chunk of Chapter 7 (I know, but I write out of order these days) of "Prophecy Girl." ~_~ Yay.
And for some bizarre reason, I *really* want to work on Chapters 10 and 11 for WDKY-- though it's frustrating me the fact that I haven't worked on the KiSS doll I planned at all. I really need a tablet for that, and again, I don't have the money for it. So maybe I'll hold off on it until like, chapter 18 (halfway done celebration!) or something. I just can't do it with a mouse; the one I have kinda sucks.
Gah. I think I'm supposed to meet Steph soon. I wish I had money so I could go to C&C and buy new Ancient Sanctuary packs. Moreover, I'd like to know why *MY* YVD is buggy, but Mamono's is not. *cries*

Date: 2004-06-19 08:12 am (UTC)I know Richard was in Kuwait; I did point that out above. Not to mention I've known him since elementary school, plus we hung out at Fanime, so his stay and what it was like is hardly new news to me.
And frankly, I think "shortage" is bullshit.

Date: 2004-06-19 03:23 pm (UTC)My favorites are Labyrinth of Darkness and The Pharaoh's Servant. I got the Dark Magician Girl in one of my packs and sold it for 20$. XD
;_;
Date: 2004-06-19 11:03 pm (UTC)I haven't actually bought any AS cards yet, but I might download the YVD update today-- at least I'd be able to know all the card effects and such. But if I snag any AS cards before you, I'll let ya know if I get any good ones. The idea of Archangels kind of intrigues me...
Re: ;_;
Date: 2004-06-20 12:46 am (UTC)I'm thinking about buying the big, bulk lots on Ebay because the idea of this whole booster set focusing on Archangels draws me to it as well. If only I had a job...;_;
