No more brain juice
Mar. 30th, 2004 08:24 pmGAAAH. It's one thing to be out of story ideas-- that sucks, but you can always go back and look over your old work and edit and revise it (like I'm doing with WDKY8 now) or finish the unfinished stuff (like I always do... er, sometimes do). But what about when you have no ideas for your birthday?
The date: April 14th (Wednesday)
The age: 19 (nothing special)
The problems:
* Who will be in town?
* Who cares?
The possibilities:
* Metreon - Portal One (problem: expensive, needs 8 ppl. minimum. Plus, only 1 hour)
* RTA (problem: minimum 10 people)
* Giant's Game vs. MIL. (problem: great seats are expensive, and Mom doesn't think she can get off)
* Some show [ymphony, musical, whatever] (problem: expensive, short notice)
* Punchline comedy club (problem: no minors??)
* Hooter's (problem: too tacky, might not be able to do reservations)
* Some factory (problem: big distance, also depends on the factory... chocolate factory? Jelly Belly factory?)
I know for sure I'd like a pizza party, but where? And when? If not the day of, what about the 17th?
Been there, done that:
* Bowling
* Benihana
* California Pizza Kitchen (TWICE)
* Winchester Mystery House
* Great America
* Marine World
* Round Table Pizza
* Bonfire @ Beach
* BBQ (too dependent on weather)
* Alcatraz/Angel Island (it's a prison, for Pete's sake)
* Musee Mecanique (museums aren't really "party" places)
* Ripley's Believe it or Not (been there... with Jonathan. The Date That Went Nowhere)
* Karaoke @ Japantown (if you've done it once...)
* Pottery Design (pricey *and* boring)
* Sleepover/Slumber Party (I'm not 14)
* Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (too far)
* Build-A-Bear (I don't need more stuffed animals. Well, maybe UFO Catchers or a Kaiba plushie, but they don't count)
* Exploratorium
* Ice Skating
*sigh* I HAVE NO IDEAS. Am I really being too picky? I consider the following things:
- When can I do it? Will people be able to come?
- Will it be expensive? Who will be paying for what?
- Will it be fun? Will it be MEMORABLE?
People are probably going to be working or on spring break. If worse comes to worse, you know what? I'll dish out the $50 and go by myself to the Giant's game. That's a horribly depressing thought, but... I really have no better ideas.
People I wish could come:
* Eva (she'll be in LA, I know)
* Steph (school?)
* Tobey (see above)
* Joe (again, see above; if not, work)
* Rochelle (also in LA)
* Chris K. (*waves*)
* Taz (because he's been pestering me to see him again and whip his ass again in SCII. ^_^)
* You
* That Other Guy
* Those People I rarely talk to, but are cool anyway
* Everyone else who doesn't intend to get drunk/high/arrested
-.- Back to WDKY. Maybe... *shrugs* I don't know. Work. work. WORK.

I have an idea...
Date: 2004-03-30 08:57 pm (UTC)So heck, if you like slumber parties (Even though you're not 14) why not throw a slumber party? If you like pizza, add pizza to the equation. Or why not just mesh together a few things?
Hmm... I always wanted to visit the Winchester House. Heck, I always wanted to visit LA. It's bloody cold here in Toronto! -_-
Anyway, here's some of the "exciting' things I can suggest for you...
- Mini golfing (keep reading, it gets better)
-Water skiing
- Amusement Park
- Picnic (same thing as BBQ, I guess...)
- Comedy Club
- Dance Club
- Arcade
- Maybe a live taping of a show? Sit in the audience? Eh?
- Trip to an Animation Studio (if you know of one nearby)
- Museum (if you're a geek like me!)
- Disney World / Road trip there on a weekend...
- Camping/Cottage
- Concert
- Battle of the Bands
- Poetry Reading
- Pool party
- Cops & Robbers 'round the neighborhood/designated area (Sounds childish, but its a LOT of FUN...especially since now that you're a little older, the playing field is a lot bigger and it gets a little more interesting....if you don't know what Cops & Robbers is... well, just PM me and I'll explain, but you should know, I think)
- Treasure Hunt (its fun setting it up!)
...Err... I'm trying to wrack my brain here. I've done a few things on the list... not all...Parasailing and waterskiing would be cool (if you've got a death wish, no? ;) )
Anyway, good luck with planning your B-DAY! Make sure you pick something YOU like... and what YOU find interesting. Forget about what your friends think :P
Re: I have an idea...
Date: 2004-03-30 10:40 pm (UTC)- Water skiing Too depdendent on the weather. SF is an impossible creature to predict.
- Amusement Park I've been to the only Amusement Parks in the area many times; they don't change much, they open later in the year, and they also charge a fortune. Plus, the cost severely limits who can come. ;_;
- Picnic (same thing as BBQ, I guess...) I wish I had a BBQ.
- Comedy Club YEA! It's 18+ here at the Punchline! WHOOHOO!
- Dance Club o_O I don't know of any where people don't get high.
- Arcade Two of my ideas were arcade, but they're highly dependent on who comes. Minimum people and all.
- Maybe a live taping of a show? Sit in the audience? Eh? OOh! I wonder if any shows tape around here? I mean, besides the news.
- Trip to an Animation Studio (if you know of one nearby) O_O I should try and find one...
- Museum (if you're a geek like me!) I'm too loud for museums. Plus I think I've seen most of 'em. Unless one has an Egyptian Exhibit. Then I am SOOO there.
- Disney World / Road trip there on a weekend... O_O FLORIDA? I wish.
- Camping/Cottage ;_; I wish. I think it's hard to pull off in a city though, and no one has a car. :P
- Concert I wonder what's playing? How do you find out what concerts happen in the area?
- Battle of the Bands Ooh, where would one find out about this?
- Poetry Reading ^^;;; Not my style. Used to be... a long time ago... eh, it's a long story involving a deceased sister and rats in coffee shops.
- Pool party I'm too short for pool! It's sad but true!
- Cops & Robbers 'round the neighborhood/designated area (Sounds childish, but its a LOT of FUN...especially since now that you're a little older, the playing field is a lot bigger and it gets a little more interesting....if you don't know what Cops & Robbers is... well, just PM me and I'll explain, but you should know, I think) TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME!
- Treasure Hunt (its fun setting it up!) How would you do this???
You had some pretty cool ideas! I didn't see anything like these online... ^_^; Do tell me about the Cops and Robbers deal; I've since forgotten all about that game.

Date: 2004-03-30 09:09 pm (UTC)Anyway, you do have all-ages things, right? And fake-ids aren't hard to come by if you're willing to go the distance. You might have to drop a couple bucks ($20-$30 max.) but it'll be worth your while...
I already replied three times to this same post. Never mind me.
