Testing, testing...
Aug. 27th, 2003 01:07 pmWhy the heck isn't my new LJicon displaying? This irritates me.

My new LJicon is the one displayed above, but every time I try to upload it to LJ, it doesn't display anything-- just a 100x100 box with an X. This is SO FRUSTRATING! It's 100x100, only 31K, and is a GIF! Why won't it display? *cries*

Yeah, so if you thought these were remotely interesting, you can trade your card with me (or other users) by putting it into your Memories. >)
Friggin cool: LiveJournal-based Fanfiction
Connect the dots, la la la... LJConnect
Why this is cool - pick an LJ-user name and either someone else's LJ name (presumably someone NOT on your friend's list) or an *. The script connects you to the user (or a random user, *) through "hops." Basically, it's based off the idea in "Six Degrees of Separation," where everyone on this planet is somehow connected to someone else (and likewise, any actor can somehow be connected to Kevin Bacon... hee hee). So pick someone random that you don't know at all, and somehow, you will be connected to them. >)
...
LiveJournal MAYA icon STILL doesn't work. It's only 7.41KB, 100x100. GIF format. Am I missing something? Maybe I should restart... or download new virus definitions. o_O
Hey people, if you get an email from Administrator@ Yahoo.com, or anything similar, DO NOT OPEN IT! It's sure to be a virus, trojan, or worm, even if there's no attachment. I've noticed that most trojans, viruses, and worms that propogate email addresses do one of two things to emails--
(1) They capitalize the first letter of the email, or the first letter of the domain, which is something most PEOPLE don't do to their email; emails aren't case-sensitive, so this is a pointless exercise.
(2) They put a space after the @ sign in an email-- normal emails could NOT send this way, unless it was specified by the user themselves (in which case, it would more than likely display a NAME rather than an email address; when the From: Address is left alone, the default is an email with NO space after the @ sign!).
Just keep your eyes peeled.
