Today was tiring... another one of those days I wished could just hurry up... and not just because my mom was being a snit in the morning. I'm in a better mood now, short of being out of milk, and I hope she is when she gets home. I'm looking forward to tomorrow for a few reasons-- 1) I hope I got into media academy... I'll find out tomorrow as soon as I possibly can; 2) RTA... more time to spend with my friends, hopefully improve on some games, and save cash. Not to mention fret about meeting Taisuke. >_> Okay, so that's only two reasons, but still, who doesn't look forward to a weekend?

I took the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test today... mm, Sergeant Edwards who was calling me about advertising in the paper was there, along with two Marines (one was hella tall and buff; the other was tiny and... tiny) and one Air Force guy who kept looking at my table suspiciously. Contrary to popular belief, the ASVAB doesn't mean you'll be enlisted if you take it... but if you're in 11th grade or higher and take it, and score really well in a particular area (there are 8 areas: Vocabulary, Paragraph Comprehension, Arithemetic Reasoning, Mechanics, Auto & Shop, Trignonometry, Electrical Knowledge, and General Science) you might get called by a recruiter. But they can't draft you or anything based on your scores... and it doubles as a great vocational (read: job) predictor, and is similar not only to the military entrance exams, but corporate exams and other similar tests. ^^; Hehe listen to me promoting it. Gah. Anyway, the bad end was that I didn't really study, and I bubbled in random answers for Mechanics, Auto & Shop, and Arithemetic Reasoning.

Gah. Anyway, the bad end was that I didn't really study, and I bubbled in random answers for Mechanics, Auto & Shop, and Arithemetic Reasoning. <_< While I was taking the test, I felt really dumb because I suddenly couldn't do math without a calculator. I used to be able to -pretty well- but that was such a long time ago. Anyone that's faboo in math, PLEASE HELP ME! I need it! I really don't want to be held back... *worry fret angst*

Mm, so the test went through 7th period, but thankfully the proctor said that any of us that wanted to leave at 3:00 (it was 2:50 by the time we started the final section) could... and since the last part was Mechanics, many people did. Everything got screwed up because this stupid kid left the cafeteria with the answer sheet -which is government property, so the proctor has to fill out a bunch of "incident forms" to report the loss. No one knew the idiot's name until long after he left, and I major embarassed myself when the proctor asked how I knew his name long AFTER he left, but not when he was calling the kid's name to find out if anyone knew him. But that's just it... I don't KNOW him, I just knew his name, and put two and two together! Yeesh! But my face was so red... >///<

Anyhow, so I missed English (wahoo!) and TAing for Koski (Cassie kept calling me in the middle of the test. I told her -or at least told Eva when Cassie was nearby- that I was taking the ASVAB! Geez). During Journalism, we all ordered pizza from the pizza join (yumm! 'lishious veggie pizza and lemonade!) but it was pretty pricey-- $4.75 total, including the Snapple. >_> That's like, nearly three days lunches! Now I have $2 left, that's lunch money for tomorrow, but how will I explain to a (probably still) angry mom where the other $5 she gave me this morning went! Eeps, and I wanted money for tomorrow since it's a real Bemani Night, and I should go to Richter's early and just head over to RTA as soon as I can... >_> It'd be nice to be there early for once.

Anyway, I scanned the last of my photos in and put them on Snapshot, but I don't have thumbanils for them yet, so I only have the 59 I posted recently. Maybe I'll wait until I can stockpile some more with the journalism's digicam and scanner before I upload the page again. I also came up with a cool column for the next issue of The Eagle, coming out on Feb. 19 (God willing). It's called "Click Picks" and features interesting websites for high school students/teens in general. Hehe, and my first Click Pick? Strong Bad Emails! Wahoo, and it's not restricted on school servers, either! ^_^

I also did pretty well on the math test I was so paranoid about earlier... I screwed up on the last part because I forgot that finding the slope of a line could help you find the equation of a line as well... turns out that the slope = m in the equation for a line y = mx + b. And slope is rise/run, so... >_< I just hope I didn't screw up on the earlier parts of the test with instantaneous speed and derivative (same thing, right?) or I really will be in the pits. I keep forgetting to do my POW, and worse, this next one is one I did last year, but involves tons of data collection. I have to find my old copy of it, since no one wanted (and I sorta claimed) to work with me. Geh, it's that silly one about King Arthur's table and these knights... Arthur plays a game where he goes up to a knight in chair 1, says "you're in" goes to chair 2, says "you're out," etc, until all the knights but one are eliminated. That knight is the "winner." My job is to find out a quick way to determine which knight will be the winner, if the number of knights varies. @_@ GAUGH!

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT there is a good part to all this! I've been thinking about fanfics nearly all day, and foremost on my mind (ironically) is my Star Ocean fic, "Perfect World." I'm still working on Part 3 (it's over 70KB!) and already scheming for Parts 4+, but I need to come up with a bunch of particular scenarios and the like... mm, like how Claude runs into Rena again, how Celine knows what she knows, where Yuki comes in, etc. So many flashbacks! Guuurgh. But I think I've got some great ideas for the next few parts... if only I can put Part 3 out already! Mm, but like I said a long time ago, I think my muse is the Goddess of Transportation, since I always get inspired running to/waiting for/riding on the bus. ^_^ Hehe, anyone know who a Goddess of Transportation is?

Well aside from all that loveliness, I also want to work on my ugly-arse Peach Girl page, which is in serious need of renovating... but I still wanna use the same picture, and use the theme Jungle Dreams.. maybe Skin Deep Version 4.1? Darn... I want to get "My Song" Part 3 out, and "Skin Deep" part 2 out. Whee, they're such cool storylines... I read some PG fics the other night... only a few are good. There's Baine's (of course) and Yohko's (but it's finished) and maybe some others whose authors I forgot. *sheepish grin* Everyone's turned to ParaKiss, those traitors! Blech. Not that I don't like PK, I just would rather stockpile my money for the SO2 manga, the PG manga, etc. I'm still missing manga from the SM series, and that's been OUT! I gotta get those before the price goes up and they try reprinting it... Eww, the Ranma manga reprints are so yucky looking! And they're from Shounen Sunday too, not Viz (since Viz has 18 more overpriced tankubon to go before the series is finished, and they BETTER do the last cover right!!)

*sigh* I'm somewhat zonked, and all these grapes I'm eating don't feel so good. Mm, time for my afternoon nap. Yu-Gi-Oh is a repeat today anyway. Blaaah.

You're actually smarter than you think in math. I'm in Calculus and I didn't learn derivatives until the beginning of the coarse. Oh and also, having a cultural background doesn't mean being asian and celebrating Chinese new year. You have a cultural background too, because everyone has to have one! (figure out who I am yet?)
