Babymaker!

So I had a really weird dream that I just woke up from. While with some dreams, you can tell that things you've seen or done play a role in how the dream ends up, I can honestly say I have no idea where this dream came from.

I had a dream that my cousin Brooke wrote a book called "Babymaker." There was a hand-drawn/cartoon version of Brooke on the cover of the book, and she was juggling baby Eva in one hand and vacuuming with another. The book had a pink cover with a bottom bar in a nice kelly green color...and it was about Brooke having designed a vacuum, like a "success memoir." I don't think the vacuum was called "The Babymaker," though (that'd be too weird).

And then for some reason I was swimming in this warm ocean where random little islands with strange ruins on them were every few hundred feet or so. There was an especially-larger island with a very big ruin on it, and the ocean seemed to have a veritable jungle growing out of it between the smaller islands and the larger one.

And there was a bizarre creature that seemed like a cross between a very large tiger and a T-Rex that was part of this "society" that kicked the original underwater inhabitants out of their homes and forced them "on land," on the islands that were now ruins. They weren't happy with just having an underwater kingdom, so they wanted the island one, too. It seemed like they'd mostly succeeded, but there were pockets of the original underwater/island inhabitants around...I just don't remember a bit about what they look like. I get the feeling that they managed to find a way to save their people by moving out of their bodies and into the air.

(Okay, I lied, clearly there are a few aspects here that I do recognize, now that I'm writing all this out: the tiger/T-Rex thing reminds me of one of the creatures from the movie "9," and the island nation was called "Aquaria," like the watery kingdom on Elicoor II in Star Ocean: Till The End of Time. Also, the islands kind of looked like parts of Besaid from Final Fantasy X, even though I haven't played or even looked at guides for that in ages, and the transition of the Aquarians from water to land to air reminds me a bit of the Ascended Beings from Stargate SG-1, which I HAVE been looking up/reading about/watching lately.)

I think I managed to get to that main island after avoiding a close call with the Tiger-Rex, and it turned out what looked like a pretty window was actually a weapon to destroy the rest of the Tiger-Rexes, but the Aquarians hadn't been able to use it in time. One of their "Ascended" was going to come down (breaking the rules they now had for "not caring" about their old lives and the things done to them "down there") and tell me how to use it or activate it while I was there or something, but I don't think it worked out as planned. I remember the device activating while I was on another island...talking to Brooke about her vacuum!

I have a very strange brain.
