Whee, Lonnie finally called back not long ago... around 10 o'clock, shortly after I awoke from my prolonged nap. I don't think he got my message though, unless being knocked out by a bunch of asshole thugs in Daly City causes one to lose their memory. Yeah, you read right. People are such... MEANIES! For lack of a better word. Lonnie was outnumbered by 7 brats who stole his bike and his watch-- luckily they didn't seem to have inflicted much [serious] bodily harm (and aside from that, Lonnie's a trooper) and he still had his phone and his cash when all was said and done. He ended up going home tonight anyway instead of coming here, which is okay, but I can't help but worry. At least I'll see him tomorrow.
*sigh* Doesn't look like he's coming to my concert. You know what's sad, excluding the time when Amber, Fred, Grace, and Will *all* came to my concert (I think it was my first one) there hasn't been a single instance of a close, personal friend coming to ANY of my concerts. Vince did, but he's a cool exception to the rule I suppose, given that he's my "Niichan." But Lonnie's not a "concert" type person (to be honest, another disappointment... how can I ever have someone I care about be interested in something I love and feel passionately about?) or something like that. BLAH.
My back is finally starting to look like a tomato with butter dripped all over it. A very yucky site, to be honest, but people in Journalism were like "Ooh, wow, damn, that is red!" and such. I'm such a whiner when it comes to people touching my back now, because it honestly HURTS! I mean, even wearing a T-shirt HURTS! And I'm wearing the somewhat-loose B3 shirt! ;_; Mom says it'll be gone by prom, but what about by Wednesday, when I have to sing in a black dress? My white skin (now speckled with radioactive red) will be pretty damn noticable. I hate my shoulders. My skin in general. Almost everyone else I've talked to today is all "Ooh, I *tan.*" Well THANKS, I DON'T! =P
I finally got my mini-spree done today though. Went to the bank afterschool (I stayed with Stephanie talking about stuff throughout 6th period... we went to Wash House and I made up for not getting lunch) and tried to deal with my damned ATM card. The account was finally activated; Mom got a call saying as much, but in the process of trying to change my pin, there was some stupid, tiresome error about having two accounts, one being linked to my mom's as it was supposed to be, and then all this mess about a dead card... FINALLY the girl got it to work, so I deposited by old birthday check and got myself some $50 cash to go shopping.
First stop: Shoe Pavilion. Grr, as it turns out, there's *3* of them downtown, and one is right across the street from Virgin Megastore, where I spent a good three hours last night. *hiss* I didn't even know, and I'd carted myself all the way to the Mission to go to the other one! And supposedly there's yet ANOTHER one somewhere on Kearny, near the Citibank! ;_; GAUGH! Doesn't matter-- I went into the Market one, and BAM! There're my Converse. My big conflict wasn't over hi-top or oxford (definitely hi-top... oxfords are too common, and I like something that covers my ankles; boot-style) but over the color. Black goes with everything, but is common. Red is cool, and one of my favorite colors, but doesn't go with everything, and gets dirty easy. If they had black with flames or purple, those would be factors too. But they didn't-- they only had black and red. And I couldn't tell the difference between the Chuck Taylor version and the All-Star originals. Whatever, I now am the proud owner of a pair of black hi-top All-Star Converse sneakers. =) I can even put my rainbow laces in to spice them up some. =D
That was roughly $32 right there, which isn't really that bad, all things considered. But I had to keep at least $10 for the photos which I'd left at Walgreen's since the 7th, and I also wanted to check out Claire's for the necklace/bracelet holder which I was in dire need of... the SF Shopping Centre (Westfield Shoppingtown, technically) had the Claire's up the block place their last one on hold for me; it's pretty, all blue and sparkly, but doesn't hold all my necklaces, especially since I have so many, and lots are long. And that's not even starting on my bracelets. Who knew I was such a jewelry freak.
And, scarier thought-- I might be turning into my mom. I mean, I'm starting to develop an insane love of purses. I almost bought a clearance purse I saw at Claire's today, but if it hadn't been for my need to get my photos (this already including my $6 necklace holder and $32 shoes) I would have bought it. My ATM card isn't supposed to work fully until tomorrow, so buying THAT, along with pens for my yearbook, will have to wait.
Ms. Taylor could not be reached today during 6th period-- unfortunate, since I wanted to bitch at her for the foolishness of having students get their yearbooks in alphabetical order. Didn't I already mention this? Seniors have one week less of school, not to mention there are less seniors in the Class of '03 combined than in all the individual letters of the alphabet. And the way she's organized it, the yearbook/student store staff will have a hell of a time each day, since tomorrow is D-H, (that's 5 letters), then I-M (another 5) on Wednesday, N-Q (4 letters) on Thursday, and finally, R-Z is on Friday (my day-- 9 letters worth of the alphabet, and the part with the most students anyway, considering all the Wongs, Zhous, and Yangs!) GAUGH! Besides, I seem to recall Taylor telling me (despite being stressed over Mayfest and the yearbooks arriving) that she'd be giving me my yearbook on Monday. Blah, besides that, I know I'm not the only senior feeling this way.
What else... finally decided on my final project for Journalism (should get started on that soon, matter of fact). Steph had her part in inspiring it, given that she said she expected me to be doing a summer job like web designing. I had done that before for Richter's, when I was somewhat of a newbie, my software and "expertise" was quite limited... not to mention the job was pretty restrictive. As dorky as it sounds, I'd like to expand my horizons and start working with PEOPLE more, instead of parking myself in front of a computer and typing all day. *stares* Haha.
Believe it or not, I got a call back from workforstudents.com, Vector Marketing, around an hour after I'd filed the application! They want to interview me-- and their base pay is a whopping $15.75! I doubt that's an hour or whatever, considering I don't understand much in terms of money/bank/job lingo... but hey, money is money. I just hope they don't "disqualify" me for not being a graduate YET. =P I'm glad I got first dibs on the application and such, given that they're advertising in the paper. So I'll know about everything the program does and offers way before my classmates! *snicker*
Gah, I have to get the senior names and warp them into the shape of an Eagle. Hopefully that'll work. I'm still on a spree for that font though, before I jump and make it in Fontographer. And I also want more brushes and accessories for PS7, since I haven't messed with it lately. I'm on a techno spree, as stated in another entry. *yawn* Damn, I'm getting tired again despite my nap! Must work! Bedtime = 1am!
