Observations of a Sunny Sunday
May. 18th, 2003 11:31 pmI finally got off my lazy bum and went to B3, but to be honest, it wasn't much. I guess my expectations were pretty high, what with how everyone was hyping it. That and, in general, going to RTA has been scant as of late, and not just on my end-- all the people I ever went to see at RTA are either a) not going anymore period or b) feel that going to RTA is a "chore." All very sucky, mind you, especially considering AFX is over for the semester.
Well, my shoulders feel better today-- I put both sunscreen and the aftersun lotion on, since the aloe gel is a) cold, b) slimy and c) green. It's been bothering me with the way it's been tightening my skin and making it very uncomfortable to move... I was out most of today for B3, and I watched all but one of the performers at the Freestyle tournament (of course, that one guy had to be the one I "knew" from SHAFT, and the one that placed 1st with that $1000 certificate to Fry's...) Anyway, on with the observations:
-Amber and Fred never came. At least, if they came, no one I talked to saw them, and if they were there during Freestyle, they didn't see me. Which sucks, because I REALLY wanted to talk to Amber.
-There aren't enough girls in the DDR community. A fact which makes me wish I were good enough to compete.
-Tourists will sit down for 3 hours and watch people they don't know do things they don't understand. Just for laughs.
-My ATM card got activated, but since the PIN got deleted, I have to go to the bank tomorrow afterschool and reprogram it. Then I have to go to Shoe Pavilion, then on my way back, J-Town for pens.
-I splurged and spent $15 on a B3 shirt. It looks cool, but the front is really sad, with no designs on it whatsoever. Maybe I'll use fabric paint and write something cool. =P
-I spent around 3 hours in Virgin Megastore, just reading books. I came up with a few more that I wanted-- "What to do if a bird flies in the house," and "Legally Blonde," the novel. I'm really starting to like those "blonde" novels now, like the "Shopaholic" series, "Pink Slip," and "Down with Love." They're not truly "blonde" novels per-se, but they're targeted towards that group, I guess.
-Finally got my hands on that lavender roller-ball eyeshadow. Whee.
-The "bush man" is either getting ripped off by copycatters or is losing his touch.
-They have a LOT of nice clothes along the way to In-N-Out/Walgreen's/The F stop, but they're all highly overpriced.
-Vince and Jimmy never showed up to B3-- at least, not that I saw. They both pre-registered, but apparently something happened, and I am one of the unprivileged few unable to find out what... at least, still I stop by sometime this week to return the FMP CDs I borrowed so long ago, and give Bruce his copies of SOEX.
-It's very hard to classify a font that you only know from being seen in two places-- at Yerba Buena Gardens and in YM magazine. And I don't think the people at YM will *ever* answer me about my font, unless I email them repeatedly... and even then...
-This "Book of Love" that had "all the answers" asks you to concentrate on some closed-ended question about love, wait 15 seconds, and then open the book to a random page. Supposedly the page will be your answer... and it sort of worked for me, as I ended up doing what it suggested, with as-yet-unseen results. All the same, I feel somewhat relieved.
-Pizza and beans go together, in a weird way.
-Grace is very "huggy" when she's drunk. Moreso than I've seen her before. Must have something to do with the brand.
-People are mean. Sunday insights can make you wonder who your real friends truly are.
*sigh* I'm pretty much done. Not in the mood for playing FFIX right now, but I will tomorrow, probably. Wednesday and Thursday are sure to be packed and such. Much to do. I just hope people come to my choir concert, because it really means a lot to me at this point.
