Quite possibly the dumbest question I will ever ask on here:
ZSNES emulator, latest version (1.42).
Keyboard controls set to the following:

A: Tab
B: Caps Lock
X: LShft
Y: LCtrl
Left shoulder: ~
Right shoulder: Bksp
Dir Pad: Arrow keys

So when I see a "cheat code" that says "press Right, Y, Left, A, Down, X at the title screen," are "right" and "left" the directional keys (right arrow, left arrow) or are they the shoulders? It would make more sense to be the shoulders, but for this particular game (Sailor Moon Super Kurukkurin), pressing ~ or Bksp just speeds up the game into turbo mode on the title screen, until it switches into Demo play. So unless I'm pressing this in the wrong place or wrong sequence or have my keyboard configured wrong, how the heck do you enter keyboard cheats on the ZSNES emulator?

R and L almost always denote shoulder buttons. Up, Down, Left and Right denote directional buttons.

On another note, why don't you have a regular WSAD as up down left right and have BAYXLR be on the 124578 on the number pad? far more intuitive.

And yeah, tilde and backspace on ZSNES are the turbo keys, if I recall correctly (I use SNES9X). It's probably a bad idea to map the shoulder buttons to them (not to mention how far ~ and backspace are from each other and how hard they would be to hit during regular gameplay.

Don't set your ABXYLR to anything except the alphanumerics, I usually prefer ASDZXC. L and R denote the buttons, not the directions.

It keeps it simple that way. And also make sure you don't set them to keys already assigned to other functions, the ~ and tab are examples. So yes, it messes things up.
