The less I thought I cared about my PS2, the more I've been wanting to play it lately. Inspiration comes in short bursts, and I'm sick of spending so much time in front of a computer. I want to play SO2, Katamari, and Persona 2! ;_;

So what do I do?

I was supposed to get a rate quote for repair from some website, but I haven't heard anything yet. Like I said, I could buy a new slimline PS2 for $150 and probably get it chipped for another $50-$100, but repair (assuming it's a basic repair, not laser replacement) is usually $40-$50... but my PS2 *is* old and modded, and not many places will fix it.

I could wait for the PS3, but where's the guarantee that it'll play my imports/burns? That's the sole reason I got it chipped. I have DVDs and DVD burns, too! (It looks like it *will* play burns, but what about imports/other region DVDs?)

What's wrong with your current PS2? I'd keep it around-- PS3 is supposed to come out this year anyway, same with the revolution, so you might as well hang onto this one and see how you like the new one. It's always good to have the old system around. I love my SNES! My N64! My original PlayStation!

I dropped it on the floor about a week ago, and though it can still play some games (I think), the music is busted, and DVDs won't play at all. I also don't want to risk damaging my expensive games by putting them in a machine with a too-high laser.

You can get a used PS2 very cheap-- especially with the PS3 on the horizon? And it'd be pretty cheap to mod.

I suppose I could try and get a refurbished PS2 modded... but I'd have to pay for the PS2, the mod chip, shipping of the system, and whatever the mod chip company would pay for installation; I don't have the skills or the tools to do modding myself. In any case, it would probably be close to the cost of a new PS2 without all the mods.

And in that case, why don't I just wait for the PS3. $100 more for DVD and CD burns... and *maybe* imports. Or so I hope. I only have one import game, FFX-2/International + Last Mission.

My GameCube is acting funny. Sometimes it'll turn on, and then for about a week it won't. I'm debating to either get it fixed or a new or wait Revolution. However, when the latest LoZ is released, I would like to play it the moment it is in my hands. I have until April to figure out what to do.

Okay, so this has nothing to do with what you were talking about, but you said you had Inuyasha eppies so I figured I'd ask if you had any YGO episodes. I think one of the main reasons I haven't been able to write lately (besides having hardly any time) is because I haven't seen the show in probably six months easy. If you do have them, I'd be willing to pay for them if you could burn them. I'd like to get back into it and I think I need a refresher course to get the characters straight in my mind. Let me know, okay?

Not any of the Duel Monsters series, but I do have episodes 1-11 of the original (Toei) series, subtitled. If you like Kaiba with a "suddenly refreshing minty flavor" (that is, lime green hair with a dash of psychotic behavior) then I can accomodate. As for Duel Monsters episodes, I think I might have 1 or 2 crappy episodes in *.avi format, and then my DVDs of Duelist Kingdom, in Dual-Format.... but I have no DVD burner, and I don't think I have a ripper, either. I know there are torrents or just plain ol' episodes out there (getitfido.com), but the quality tends to be lacking. I keep praying they'll put the eps out on hybrid DVD soon.

As for IY, you said something like episode 53+? Let me count the CDs that requires... I used 36 CDs for episodes 73 till the end, plus the movies. It might require 50 cds (about a full spindle).

In any case, I can't spare that many at the moment, simply because I have to clear off my comp to burn CDs in the first place. I'd be glad to burn you what I have of the first series, if you think it might inspire you (har har) or what I might pick up from elsewhere on the web, but anything of great quality is pretty unlikely.

For all the IY, you can pester me incessantly, but I'll have to wait to buy another full spindle (they can run pretty expensive; I got a 50 spindle for $8 at Circuit City, but I think it was a one-time sale) before I can burn anything.

If its going to be that much of a hassle then don't bother, I think I may survive. Plus, my friend just found a bunch of IY eppies on good 'ole eBay and she may lend them to me. If not, I'll just break down and buy them myself. XD

Nooo, I didn't mean to imply that it would be a hassle, just that I couldn't do it right away. And in the case of Yu-Gi-Oh, I could easily send you minty-fresh!Kaiba episodes up to 11 of the original series; that'd be a lot easier than IY, which takes forever to burn. ^^;
