Damn Semagic. I had this big long post with that funny harem meme and a whole challenge thing, and when I updated my User Icons, the whole damn thing had to close. I was assured that Semagic saved drafts routinely enough, but I guess not. BAH! Anyway, short of taking that meme again (too tired), here's the challenge thing... anything to get me on weekly_ygo, if you know what I mean! ^_~

This is based off the 20 Random Facts Meme that was going around and the similar fanfic/fanart compilation contest for Harry Potter that was started by iulia_linnea.

Here's how it works:
(1) Make a claim. Claim any character, pairing, or group from Yu-Gi-Oh! (No items, events, or time periods, please!)
-Anybody can make a claim.
-You can have up to 2 claims at a time.
-Up to 2 people can claim the same thing at a time.

(2) Write (fanfics: that is, prose. They can be drabbles or full-length fics, your choice) or draw (fanart, icons, whatever) 20 random facts relating to your c/p/g. The facts should be short (about one sentence), but descriptive.
-For example:

1. Their first kiss really was quite messy.
He never would have allowed her into his kitchen, let alone his home, if he knew what a mess she was going to make out of it by trying to make brownies. There was flour in the air, sugar on the floor, and fudge smeared on the counters. In fact, there was a bit of fudge on the corner of her mouth, and it was that little spot of brown on her otherwise pristine face that caught his attention. He stopped thinking about all the mess and instead decided that he wanted to kiss her. But when Seto Kaiba stops thinking, bad things happen. And so it was: Seto Kaiba stopped thinking that Anzu's face was also quite the mess, and after their kiss was over, he ended up walking away with a head full of flour and an egg yolk on his shirt.

(3) Reply to your claim acceptance comment. State that you are finished with all 20 facts (do not post a reply comment UNTIL YOU ARE FINISHED! It shouldn't take too long if you keep your writing short and your icons uncomplicated) and format your comment in the following way:

(4) BONUS! Some ideas you might want to try to incorporate into your facts, to make it more of a challenge:
-Always write a drabble. That is, 100 words -no more, no less.
-Try to express the fact without using words (for an icon/fanart). See what people think the fact is, and then tell them what you had in mind.
-Use "facts" that are CANON (from the anime/manga/whatever), FANON (made up by fans, but thought to be canon), or completely of your own imagination. Or a mixture of all of them.
-Be more specific by incorporating an element (the Millennium Items, Duel Monsters cards), a time period (Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, Ancient Egypt), or something slapstick (MSTs of things found in ygo_badfic, the reasons why some pairings have such bizarre names, playthedamncard insanity) into your facts. For example: "20 Random Facts about Yuugi Mutou During Duelist Kingdom" or "20 Random Facts about Katsuya Jounouchi and his Duel Monsters deck"

I'm aware that there are communities (for Naruto, Bleach, and Avatar: The Last Airbender) out there for this, but I have not seen nor heard of one for Yu-Gi-Oh. However, the past has taught me NOT to indiscriminately start up communities if I'm not ready to manage, maintain, and advertise them. So I'll start here, and if it's popular enough to warrant its own community, I'm open to suggestion for names or moderators or whatnot.

In the meantime, post your claims here and I will get back to you ASAP. I will post the claims list ALPHABETICALLY by the character's family name. For pairings or groups, it will go by the first character's family name, or where family names are not available/applicable, by time period. You should try and list the characters by alphabetical surname ANYWAY... domination doesn't come into play here.

For example:
Modern Day
Kaiba Seto x Mazaki Anzu NOT Mazaki Anzu x Kaiba Seto. (Why? Because K comes before M in the alphabet, duh!)

Ancient Egypt
Isis x Mahaado (Why? Because they don't have family names, and I comes before M! Also, this differentiates Priestess Isis from Isis Ishtar. For the purposes of this claim, characters with past selves, reincarnations, alter-egos, etc. count as SEPARATE characters!)

For characters with foriegn (to Japan) names (Pegasus J. Crawford, Isis Ishtar, etc.) they will be listed in the standard Western format-- given name, surname.

Oh, I got corrected pretty swiftly. I ate my humble pie... ^^; I bought the Gospel of Truth book from Japan while was there, and it said 'Kawai Shizuka' so... ^^; Yeah. (However, in the anime, it might be Jounouchi Shizuka, afaik, her surname was never mentioned.)

You've got it! All 20 truths should be in one post, simply for the sake of ease. If for some reason yours end up very long and NEED to be split up, make sure to give me both the links (e.x. 1-10, 11-20) in your reply comment once you're finished.
