It's so SLOW...!
May. 2nd, 2003 03:05 pmGawd, this week is going by so slowly! Molasses! ;_; GAH! Today's stretching out too. You know, I purposely stayed in bed just a LITTLE bit longer this morning, and even while taking my time making and eating breakfast, I still managed to make it to 1st period the same time I usually do- less than 5 minutes late! Go figure. Besides, Ulrich, for whatever reason, decided not to actually HAVE class, and so everyone was either sleeping, doing homework, or talking. And the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack was playing in the background, but it was only 3 songs, and now one of them, "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" (remix) is stuck in my head!! ;_;

I watched one episode of Sailorstars last night, episode 195. Whee, I'm almost done! But I'd left my 'Elemental' book at school AGAIN, and so didn't want to see much more for fear I'd get TOO inspired! *snicker* My former Book of Inspirations, in my li'l Precious Moments journal, is now completely full. I'm so proud of myself. =) I got to thinking about a lot of Seiya/Usagi fics last night and today too... and the truth is, it can be done. I used to be so vehement about Usagi and Mamoru's undying, unbroken, unBREAKABLE relationship... but in the latter seasons of SM, Mamoru just... *isn't* a character. He's at his peak in Sailormoon, Sailormoon R, and Sailormoon S (and even that's slight). Chibiusa is the centric character of SuperS, and even though Mamoru plays a decent role towards the end, he's less of a hero and father and more of bait.
So, enter the Starlights, and Seiya. Now, I know these things that would put a severe crimp in any Usagi/Seiya relationship:
* Seiya has a duty-- to find his princess, protect his planet, and stay with his brothers.
* Seiya is a pop idol, and doesn't have time for relationships.
* Seiya is an alien... while Usagi is merely a REINCARNATED human; she was once Lunarian (or whatever you want to call it) but now she's 100% human.
* Kakyuu implies that Seiya's "male" form isn't the way he really is, or is meant to be. This doesn't change anything about Seiya loving Usagi though, and this dynamic still exists, even in the manga when Seiya is female 100% of the time.
There's also plenty of loopholes to FAIRLY remove Mamoru from the picture:
* Mamoru is supposedly in college. Busy guy. He said so himself, he wouldn't be back for nine months, at the least, and this is pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him. I mean hello, HARVARD! WHOO!
* Of course, we all know that Mamoru never made it to the states. He 'died' on the plane ride there, and Usagi STILL continues to write to him, even though she never gets a reply. Part of Usagi is probably aware of the fact that no matter HOW BUSY Mamoru is, he'd still dedicate time to her (the same way he kept saving her in SMR even when they were broken up) ... ergo, unless Mamoru has completely lost interest in her (not possible, really) then something TERRIBLE and by now, UNFIXABLE has happened.
* Usagi obviously likes Seiya-- she says so on multiple occasions. Perhaps its because their dynamic originally resembled that of hers and Mamoru's when they first met. As many Seiya fans like to point out, Usagi and Seiya became friends long before the SM thing came into the picture. And, despite Seiya being an idol, nothing gets in the way of his liking her. Same applies to the whole senshi thing-- the real reason why their relationship goes down the drain is because the senshi are opposed to Usagi associating with someone from OUTSIDE their solar system. If Seiya were just another guy, they probably would be fine with it-- assuming Usagi explained the lack-of-Mamoru-ness. Also, Seiya likes Usagi for reasons far beyond having a past with her (he doesn't HAVE one) or her being Sailormoon (that shocked him, more than making him fall for her) or her resembling a Princess (though admittedly, that seems a factor, what with the way Seiya keeps imagining Usagi/SM as Kakyuu)
^_^ *snicker* Okay, so sue me, I'm a traitor. I like Seiya/Usagi now. But I still like Mamoru/Usagi... just... in the Stars season, it doesn't work. At all. -.- Plain and simple. =P Mwah.
Okay, so I've added some fics to Aria's Ink lately, and got interested in seeing if there were any Seiya/Usagi fics there. A few I found were pretty disgusting, as they described Mamoru as some sort of drunken pimp, which is very inaccurate. AU or no, Usagi has to have a good reason to be with either Seiya OR Mamoru. People seem to forget about that a lot.
I did find one that has given me an idea though, and since I don't feel like handwriting it (and maybe some feedback from Moonies would be nice) then I'll post it here:
"It Was Destiny"
Usagi Tsukino is a bright, friendly young woman with a lot ahead of her-- in her first year of high school, she's already dating the popular, handsome idol, Seiya Kou, of Three Lights fame. But as of late, she's been having mysterious dreams-- with someone else calling out to her. And a haunting melody finds its way into her mind, until she can't get it out of her head. One day, she runs into a young man with an attitude-- and though both of them have a sense of 'deja vu' nothing becomes of the meeting. Turns out that young man is Mamoru Chiba, and he's been having pretty haunting dreams too.
What's more, events that were happening to Usagi IN HER DREAMS begin happening in real life! Usagi suddenly *knows* new transfer students, as if she's been friends with them for years... and she starts acting strangely. The Kou brothers can't find out what's up with her!
Usagi relates her disturbing dreams to Motoki, who in turn, reveals that his best friend, Mamoru has been having similar dreams! The two happen to be in the same place at the same time, and get to talking... when Seiya arrives! He misinterprets the situation, but before anyone can start anything, a youma appears! What's going on here?!
Hehehe... I dunno, maybe that's the way this fic 'The Way it Should Be' is going in the first place. But I like to move things along faster, and everything seems pretty wooden in this fic right now. Besides that, the last thing I need to be doing is starting ANOTHER new fic. Ideas are fine, but STARTING THEM?</lj-cut>

On that note, I discovered that my revised version of 'Haraguroi Yuugi: The Malicious Play' is not up at FFnet *or* my site. I really need to fix all my sites. At least get the pages up, THEN screw with the damned layouts. I know I posted HY on the fyfanfiction ML, but I set that to 'Web' only, since my mailbox was flooded with all the old posts I never got around to reading. And I deleted them, so I never will. More than that, I haven't been in an FY mood for a while, so I need to watch Eikoden and get back into it! *squeals* And now that I have a DVD player... *eyes the remnants of her paycheck greedily* I can't believe I've managed to hang onto this amount for so long! WHEE!

*cough* I've been in this class, on this computer for so long now. I should go home before the rain gets worse, before the dishes pile up even more, and before my back goes out on me yet again. I'm still going to RTA tonight, but I won't play much, and I only have $5 for food (ugh, I'm sick of sandwiches, burgers, and pizza!). I guess I'll finish reading this fic and then head out.
<a href="http://www.reasonablyclever.com/mini/index.html">hehe</a>.
Sore jya... guess I'll save quiz results and rantings about Starburst for later.
