(1) Determine if/when Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (Complete Season 2 and beyond) will be released on DVD by Warner Brothers. Okay, okay, Season 1 just came out on the 7th, but I've already finished watching all 21 episodes, and I'm at the peak of my "getting fic fix." Most fics seem to talk about events I just don't remember, and as far as I know, L&C was never released on VHS and there are probably not (correct me if I'm wrong, please) any online copies of the episodes... right? So when can I expect to get all fangirly over the next boxed set?

(2) Help me find a "page turn" or "page curl" filter for Photoshop. You know the cheesy effect that looks like you're about to turn the page? Yeah, that one. For the life of me, I can't find the filter for it-- though I know I had it once in the past, as didrhapsody_dragon. 'Course, neither of us can remember who authored the plugin or where it came from. Some help would be appreciated-- and, come on, you all know me-- free is better. No, best. No, ONLY option. ^^;
(3) Watch the following Legends of Zorro trailer. (Medium Res). In the last 30 seconds or so (after Zorro says "Neither do you"), listen to the music and then answer the following question: is it the same theme music from "Pirates of the Caribbean" ...? If yes, was it ALSO the same theme music used in the first Antonio Banderas/Catherine Zeta-Jones Zorro movie? If yes again... was it on the Zorro soundtrack? If NO, was it on the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack? HELP! (It sounds so similar, but... X_X;)

#1: I can sit at the computer for more than 8 hours of a time, seemingly doing nothing, and yet hardly being aware of the passing time. Usually I am writing fics, researching, downloading things, watching AMVs/episodes of something, reading LJs, or playing games.
#2: I make it a point to tell every little boy I see in a Yu-Gi-Oh shirt that his shirt is "cool."
#3: I cosplayed as the most hated character in all of Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, Anzu Mazaki. But then again, I did get a lot of buys drooling over me and wanting to take my picture. ^_~
#4: I pretend that I know how to freestyle DDR, and milk the audience for all I'm worth. (Sometimes it pays to have a "wicked" figure, as my Baba says)
#5: I will spend pointless and quite possibly endless amounts of time that other people probably don't bother to give a rat's hair about-- specifically, foreign languages, the context of historical facts in anime, and Those Things That Happen That No One Ever Mentions Again (conveniently).

Oh yes, I just pre-ordered Harry Potter #6: The Half Blood Prince... or whatever you want to call it, quite formally speaking. The one with the green cover, ya? Anyway, I'll be getting the book before I go to San Francisco, so if I get bored there, at least it'll give me something to read. Or to gloat that I have and Mom (probably) doesn't. Hee hee.
Oh yeah-- today was rockin' if only that a) I got off work 2 hours early; b) people that were "hatin'" on me before are now officially In Trouble for acting like idiots while on duty and with customers watching, c) I got paid! And a nice paycheck, too. Though the money is quickly disappearing... mainly due to L&C, the Permanent Account, and Mer-being-nice-to-others, d) "C" is slowly starting to lose my interest, cute or not. He had NO sense of humor today whatsoever, even though I was 100% grateful for his help on reg. MWAH! Scott and Mer for LYFE!

(I seriously wish the people at cPanel or the guy from InkTank/Archangel would get back to me so I can fix Dragonfayth!) Anyway...
Anzu Mazaki is not...
(1)a slut - for the most part, she dresses the same as any of the other women on the show, sans Isis, who will always, always wear robes. (Though even Isis did reveal her shoulders for the museum exhibition). She wears short skirts, tall boots, denim, belts... these are pretty typical for a girl her age, a girl of her character/personality, and for the fandom itself. Look at Shizuka's short shorts, Mai's revealing bustiers or any of the female Duel Monsters!
(2)a bitch - First off, a "bitch" is a female dog. Anzu's human, thankyouverymuch. And even if you want to get into a contextual argument over the slang connotations, how is Anzu a bitch? You can't say she tries to do anything cruel on purpose (she never does), and she certainly never tries to make life harder for anyone for her own selfish reasons... all the people that say "she stands in the way" of X relationship happening are just imagining things. There are very few to none canon relationships in Yu-Gi-Oh anyway, so you can't justify hating/bashing Anzu based on crack pairings and fanon "facts."
(3)a whiner - Anzu is actually a bit of a tomboy in personality. She doesn't let anyone tell her that she can't, that she shouldn't, or that she won't succeed. She's kicked butt at duels, stood up for her friends, and not been afraid to say what she feels. Any and every situation she's been in, she's reacted like plenty of REAL girls in her situation would react-- trust me, the show wouldn't have so many female fans (Anzu-hating or not) if she presented a poor female archetype. The "friendship speeches" that Anzu makes "so often" only occur about once or twice every season, and when they do, they don't take up more than two minutes of air time. They usually only happen when there's some big major event-- for example, Kaiba nearly throwing himself off the duel tower, and a horrified Yuugi just realizing in time the depth of his "other half's" experience with the game... Anzu made a speech then, because she nearly saw a guy commit suicide, she saw her best friend practically lose all control over his mentality/sanity, and she realizes the depth of the "game" they're playing-- to get back the bodies/souls of people they all know and love-- Yuugi's grandfather and Mokuba!
(4)a nobody - She's a very big part of Yuugi, Jounouchi, and Honda's lives. An Azureshipper like myself would venture to say she's a pretty big part of Kaiba's life too-- after all, she's the only one (that's not been considered an "enemy" of his) that has ever argued with him and NOT been on the receiving end of a vicious tongue-lashing (and not the mouth-to-mouth kind! ^_~). She's actually gained ACKNOWLEDGMENT and RESPECT from him! He's saved her life (though he was under no obligation to whatsoever), and he NEVER insults her! Don't turn Anzu into some shrinking violet because you hate her. Do her character some justice!
(5)Mai Valentine - while Anzu has seen some good times and some bad times, she's far from getting to Mai's point about being so jaded about the world. Under a different set of circumstances, yeah, Anzu might consider dropping everything (including high school) to travel the world, become a famous duelist/dancer, go evil... whatever! But in canon, Anzu's got three big reasons to stay right where she is. Those reasons are: Yuugi, Jounouchi and Honda. Anzu's nowhere near as vindictive as Mai tends to be, either-- and even though the two ladies didn't exactly "get along" at first, Anzu obviously does learn to respect her- maybe even consider her a friend!
(6)Shizuka - Anzu is the median between Mai and Shizuka. If Mai is the seasoned veteran of the world, who's seen it all and takes no prisoners, Shizuka is the child, the n00b, and quite literally, the one who is looking at the world with fresh eyes. Shizuka seems to be hopelessly optimistic, even if the first time she SAW anything was of her brother turning against his best friend and nearly drowning them both. While she does have a strong set of ethics, she doesn't exactly know what to do in most situations-- she has to be under extreme duress to take action. Anzu, on the other hand, acts without putting too much thought into it-- but she doesn't ASSUME things, either. Anzu is not innocent and naive, and her optimism has considerably faded since Duelist Kingdom. Don't make her out to be some older version of Shizuka, who doesn't know what "the real world" is about.
(7)a matchmaker - Throughout the entire series, Anzu is concerned with very few things: (1) her friends and their safety/well-being, (2) her dream to dance/move to New York someday, (3) Yuugi's mysterious "other" side. Now while it's relatively easy to say Anzu was in love/reallyreally liked Yami no Yuugi/Atemu/the Pharaoh/Yami, she wasn't blind to the fact that she knew what was going to happen when they finally figured out the mystery of the Millennium Items. Hell, she even gave Yami no Yuugi the blank cartouche that would have his name on it-- the very same name that would unlock the door to the Afterlife! If Anzu couldn't set up a romance for herself, do you really think she'd play cupid for anyone else-- especially Yami no Yuugi or Yuugi and someone else? HECK NO! She thinks Jounouchi dodging around Mai is stupid, but it's not like she pushes them together with hot pokers. And she probably thinks Honda and Otogi simultaneously chasing after Shizuka is a bit cute at best, but more likely she follows Jounouchi's view-- they both need to keep their hands off-- especially given their situations. And regardless of the ever-unstated sexual orientations of our characters, I hardly think Anzu's going to throw up streamers and pass secret love notes from Kaiba to Jounouchi (or vice-versa) or Ryou or anyone else.
(8)a loser - In the manga, Anzu doesn't get as much time, but she does get more of a personality. In the anime, she gets more screen-time, and slightly more characterization because of it. In both instances, we see Anzu duel-- Jounouchi even admits that prior to Duelist Kingdom, Anzu routinely kicked his butt at Duel Monsters. Hanging around Yuugi and Jounouchi does not make Anzu some sort of simpering tag-along. Like any good friend, she actually watches and observes the duels, and in order to converse with her friends (or help them out) she knows what they're doing. She might not know every single card in Duel Monsters existence-- but then, neither do Yuugi, Jounouchi, Kaiba, and Bakura! Anzu knows how to duel-- so don't make her some sort of a pushover-- not in ANY situation.
(9)your Mary Sue - Whether you define a Mary Sue as a perfect, glorious character with no flaws or a pretty, angst-ridden original character with a secret past, Anzu is not it. She's got a defined personality and a relatively basic past (we don't know if she has any siblings or other relatives, though considering she lives in a 2-story house, it's presumed at least one of her parents/benefactors is alive)-- so don't turn her into some emo/goth/angst-ridden girl with no direction or hope in her life. And she has flaws too-- sometimes she speaks without thinking, she gets jealous rather easily, and she longs to be in the spotlight. She's also hopelessly nice to her friends, but a bit tactless. She gets involved in all sorts of sticky situations-- sometimes because she's spending more time looking out for others than herself, and other times because she's in the wrong place at the wrong time. Anzu's got short, brown hair and bright blue eyes, and a medium fashion sense-- she's not exuberant, wearing corsets, chains, and lace, but she's not the queen of conservative either-- if she was, she wouldn't wear the short skirts, the short sleeves, etc. etc.
(10)target practice - If you paid attention to any of the above and refuse to believe in what I have to say... fine, whatever, you're entitled to your own opinion. Nonetheless, Anzu Mazaki is not some dartboard to use as target practice. Use her in a fic or don't-- if you think you should mention her but are afraid you can't do it without bashing, merely say she's elsewhere-- visiting relatives, in New York, or heck, if you want to write an interesting fic about life without her, kill her off (diseases and accidents work nicely) and see what happens to her friends after the fact. They're not going to be partying and celebrating, I'll tell you that much. Like her or loathe her, Anzu is a character, same as everyone else in Yu-Gi-Oh. You're not mandated to love or hate anyone, but you don't have to go along with the so-called "fandom majority" and bash without reason, or bash for the wrong reasons.

And regardless of the ever-unstated sexual orientations of our characters, I hardly think Anzu's going to throw up streamers and pass secret love notes from Kaiba to Jounouchi (or vice-versa) or Ryou or anyone else.
(8)a loser - In the manga, Anzu doesn't get as much time, but she does get more of a personality. In the anime, she gets more screen-time, and slightly more characterization because of it. In both instances, we see Anzu duel-- Jounouchi even admits that prior to Duelist Kingdom, Anzu routinely kicked his butt at Duel Monsters. Hanging around Yuugi and Jounouchi does not make Anzu some sort of simpering tag-along. Like any good friend, she actually watches and observes the duels, and in order to converse with her friends (or help them out) she knows what they're doing. She might not know every single card in Duel Monsters existence-- but then, neither do Yuugi, Jounouchi, Kaiba, and Bakura! Anzu knows how to duel-- so don't make her some sort of a pushover-- not in ANY situation.
(9)your Mary Sue - Whether you define a Mary Sue as a perfect, glorious character with no flaws or a pretty, angst-ridden original character with a secret past, Anzu is not it. She's got a defined personality and a relatively basic past (we don't know if she has any siblings or other relatives, though considering she lives in a 2-story house, it's presumed at least one of her parents/benefactors is alive)-- so don't turn her into some emo/goth/angst-ridden girl with no direction or hope in her life. And she has flaws too-- sometimes she speaks without thinking, she gets jealous rather easily, and she longs to be in the spotlight. She's also hopelessly nice to her friends, but a bit tactless. She gets involved in all sorts of sticky situations-- sometimes because she's spending more time looking out for others than herself, and other times because she's in the wrong place at the wrong time. Anzu's got short, brown hair and bright blue eyes, and a medium fashion sense-- she's not exuberant, wearing corsets, chains, and lace, but she's not the queen of conservative either-- if she was, she wouldn't wear the short skirts, the short sleeves, etc. etc.
(10)target practice - If you paid attention to any of the above and refuse to believe in what I have to say... fine, whatever, you're entitled to your own opinion. Nonetheless, Anzu Mazaki is not some dartboard to use as target practice. Use her in a fic or don't-- if you think you should mention her but are afraid you can't do it without bashing, merely say she's elsewhere-- visiting relatives, in New York, or heck, if you want to write an interesting fic about life without her, kill her off (diseases and accidents work nicely) and see what happens to her friends after the fact. They're not going to be partying and celebrating, I'll tell you that much. Like her or loathe her, Anzu is a character, same as everyone else in Yu-Gi-Oh. You're not mandated to love or hate anyone, but you don't have to go along with the so-called "fandom majority" and bash without reason, or bash for the wrong reasons.

Hehe it's from Final Fantasy 8. My favourite character from is is Selphie, and her childhood nickname was "Sefie". Her best friend (and future love interest *coughClichecough*) Irvine's nickname was "Irvy", so I stuck 'em together and got irvys_sefie. I came up with it when I was like 12 and it's been my handle ever since, even though I got out of the FF8 fandom a while ago.

As for the page curl effect (I assume you mean like the one I have here in my default icon?), I made my icon in Photoshop, flattened and saved it,then opened it in Jasc Paint Shop Pro, where I added the curl. Once I had it the way I wanted it, I played with animation in AS3 and Image Ready. But PSP is where I found the effect!

Fin recommended one for me that's okay-- but it doesn't offer a transparent background option, which makes layering a pain. I'm not too keen on PSP, anyhow.
