Obituaries November 24, 2002 Golden Valley, MN The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and internal complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, The Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch. The gravesite was piled high with flours. Aunt Jamima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in a show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. *snicker* From Judy. =D
Whee, I feel like I haven't been on in forever! But it's just been a day or two... (Thursday, wasn't it?). Friday night was the party... ohoho, let's give a breakdown of events, mmkay?
I was SO sore (if I could possibly express how much my back hurt on Friday, I would. But there are no words for that kind of pain. Only very strange facial expressions) on Friday that I ditched school -- I'd actually been planning on just skipping 1st and 2nd (since I'd been excused from them for the test anyway...) but I just slept through school entirely. But I knew Amber was supposed to be coming over so we could work on Will's humungo-card (until Amber and I come up with a better name... haha, we seriously should copyright that idea!) so I was rushing to shower, get the dishes done, and get everything out.
Turns out she wasn't feeling too well-- I was surprised she was still feeling well enough to go to the party, since she said she'd been feeling nauseous and such, but hey, us girls are troopers! She called and asked me to go over to her house instead, so I had to rack my brain to figure out just how to get there. Mom, of course, refused to let me go the way I know how (all the way downtown to the 14 Misson, take the 14 to 22nd and walk to Alabama) since she insisted there were still tons of protestors (why is it I never see any of them whenever I'm downtown?) thronging the streets. BAH! I hate those people, disrupting normal life. It's not like Bush is going to go "Oh look, thousands of people going against me, I'm scared, I think I'll withdraw our troops out of Iraq." -.- Idiocy.
ANYWAY, so I went to this big trouble of catching the 5 to the 44, the 44 to the 48, and getting off at Alabama. Only I missed Alabama and ended up getting off at Portola (but a different part of Portola than where I'd caught the 48 in the first place) and had to walk backwards. Which sucked since I was so hungry and I kept walking past all these Mexican restaurants and taquerias... *dr00lage* I love Mexican food...

Being a Fencer, you are entitled to being able to sit on a fence with many other fencers and watch in amusement as the Taffers and Waffers kill each other. You are also entitled to many different flavors of bishsicles of all characters, sharing all sorts of junk food with random fencers, and you are able to be friends with waffers and taffers at the same time!! Most fencers share their wonderful invention of bishsicles with taffers and waffers alike so a battle between the two won't be set off. Some common fencers are: Sailor Sista - Raye Johnson - Lina - Neko Star - Comet Moon
What Side are you *really* on?
Taff - Fence - Waff
this quiz was made by Nikitsuki
*sniff* NIKKI!!! The quiz is good-- the questions are original, but it was waaaay too easy for me to pinpoint which answer went with which result (that takes all the fun out of it, imho). The images weren't incredibly creative, but they were laughable-- WAFF has waffles (of course), TAFF has sunkist (again, of course), and Fencers (like me) have... well, see above. ;_; And I'm not listed as one of the famous fencers! WAH! The only other gripe I had was that there were a few spelling errors in the quiz. Otherwise the quiz was fun. Now-- even if you're NOT on SMRFF, take it!!
So I finally get to her house (metal plate in Mer's head prevents her from having good sense of direction) after calling Amber twice-- it's ROASTING outside, and feels like Summer... or Northridge weather. ~_~ Lately everything reminds me of my grandparent's house there, so I'm looking forward to going there for the first weekend of my spring break. But coming back on my birthday, and the party (hopefully) at the end of the break should be a blast... if I can just plan/set everything up all right. Frick was just lying on the couch (an oversized cat) and he presented the one reason why I envy guys (well, one of THE reasons): he could just lie there with his shirt off. BLAH! Girls can't do that! I wasn't that hot then anyway (I'd had my sweatshirt on!!) but now I am, and it's not very pleasant... ~_~
We worked on the card for a while-- since I'd brought all my Prismacolor and Pentel markers, along with a few spare photos, and we decorated that sucker! WHOO! I thought the work I'd done on it beforehand was sorta cheesy (I went kinda nuts with the Mr. Sketch markers... ^^;) but with Amber's help we made it look KILLER! We did take up a lot of room though, and I was worried there wouldn't be enough room to sign for everyone else (imagine that!) Frick, unfortunately decided he wouldn't have much fun at the party, and so left... ;_; He actually said he'd missed me, which I thought was weird (am I missable?) but very sweet of him to say. Sucks that he didn't feel up to coming to the party, Frick's a cool guy.
Well, by the time Amber and I left (we couldn't get a ride, darn) and everything, the party'd already started at RTA, and Fred (whom Amber'd called) was urging us to get there ASAP before we missed out. We rushed to take the BART, since the buses would be a pain in the arse, but we had to stop and get change first. Stupid 20 oz. sodas are a rip-off $1.25 now! WTF is up with that!? I remember when they used to be 75 cents! >_< HISS! So anyway, we took the BART, and got off at Embarcadero and Market. We planned to wait for the F, but we got impatient (okay, I got impatient) after about 10 minutes. In a reversal of roles, I wanted to walk as far as we could till we caught the train. We just ended up walking and walking, past so many stops (and there were barely any cars... we walked in the middle of the island on the actual tracks, since we had that whole part of the street to ourselves). We managed to get all the way to Pier 17 before we caught a train, and the ride was only 5 minutes long. -.- Quite redundant. I'd had fun walking too, since I was getting exercise, not to mention we had fun singing (El Ritmo Tropical!) and talking the whole way there. =D
The one thing we both noticed was how ABANDONED the city seemed. Not just over by Amber's, but near the piers, and even at Pier 39 itself! We bumped into Fred and Allyson (sp?) as we were arriving, and several scattered groups of RTAers were coming and going. We had to try and hide the card, for fear Will would see it! ^_^; It was SO packed when we got there-- tons of people I didn't know. Music blasting, small tables and chairs set up... but I barely played anything. I of course, said hi to the birthday boy and all, but he was pretty hard to track down. I was busy trying to get everyone to sign the card without being too conspicious but I'm not sure whether it worked! Too many people kept signing in gray! ;_; GAH! But a lot of people signed (not everyone at the party though... which I thought was dumb, since the whole idea was that it was a Frequent RTA-goers party combined with Will's birthday... just my personal opinion that people that were there SHOULD have known who Will was... >_>) and everything, so all went well.

You're a Tanuki! You've got most of the abilities
of a fox, but you lean more towards the nicer
side of the leaf. You can change your form with
a special magic leaf, and looove playing gross
tricks on humans for laughs (like turning your
testicles into a picnic blanket). Oh, but never
to hurt them. If you hurt a human you always
send an anonymous gift to let them know you
didn't mean any harm.

Out of everything I did that night, I played only that rollercoaster ride (with Amber and Holly-- that was a blast, especially since I'd wanted to do it for a long time. Amber kicked the machine till it gave us free rides!) and Police 911 (hence the owie-ness of my current state now... my legs feel like they need to be amputated. Walking so much today didn't help either... and, just to keep the complaint-streak going, my head hurts a lot too. Stupid Aspirin doesn't do shit!) The party ended at 11:30 (not 12, like we thought) but people were leaving, food/drink was running low, and boredom was running high. I didn't get too much of a chance to talk to Joe at the party, which lent to the Awkwardness of the entire day, but I was glad to see so many people I don't see on a regular basis. Helen, Holly (mostly girls, are you noticing?) and such.
Will, Amber and I left before the crowds could get the better of us; Will waited for some of his friends at the F-stop (good luck on that-- the F was barely running that night!) while Amber and I continued on to In-N-Out with Fred and his friend. We stopped off at 7-11 and I read Cosmo Girl (whee, free lipstick sample!)... we ended up taking so long that Fred and his friend had to run to catch the 47, and then it was just me and Amber again. It was really nice just being able to talk to her about stuff, since I rarely see her online, and, despite living in the same city, it's so hard to see each other in person on a regular (extended) basis. Will finally caught up with us after we'd arrived at In-N-Out (we thought he'd gone home) and so we all sat and ate together... Amber wasn't feeling too well again, and ended up using Will as a pillow. Hence the other awkward-ness. -.- To be blunt, if I'd had a mode of transport, I would have hopped it and gone. I felt like the proverbial third wheel -- AGAIN. *sigh* I don't think that "groupie" sense of friendship we used to have will ever be the same again, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be a stick in the mud about it. I love my friend way too much.
Amber called up her mom and we arranged to get picked up from the pier-- at first, I thought Will was going to stay over too, but he asked Amber's mom to drive him home instead, presumably because he had much to do the next day (I wonder if his hair will be solidly blonde the next time I see him!) As we left his house, 92.7 started playing "All the things she said," which I had predicted would come on right after Will left! SCARY! Amber and I were zonked when we got back, so once we set up the beds and all, we just SLEPT. It was nice not having so much pain in my legs, since I had all of Amber's super-plush and warm blankets all around me. We talked for a while, but Amber fell asleep. -.-; By the time I woke up, Amber had already gone and left for work (sniff) and I knew she was supposed to meet up with friends later and go to Bodega Bay or something... whee, I haven't been there in a while. I always loved the drive up, the tidepools and the sandcastles! *sigh* I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really miss my dad.
Blah. Anyway, I kept falling asleep and waking up again, but after 12, I started getting up can getting dressed. Santos said he was going to give me a ride, which was very nice of him- I had to get home before 1 so that Mom and I could go to CalFed (now Citibank) and deal with me getting a new account and cashing my MA check. Santos went into the bathroom with a veritable afro and came back with slicked back hair! It was so cool, I could hardly believe it was the same guy! @_@ Anyway, so we left, and we talked a little in the car about games, RTA, people we both know and such-- but when I got home, Mom was still asleep. -.- She tok forever to get ready, and by the time we left, we didn't have much time to get to the bank. Of course, there was a line before they closed up, and then when someone finally came up to us, they said all this garbage about me not being able to get an account of any kind till I was 18-- not savings (without a $500 deposit) or checking (which I don't want, since I'd abuse it). GAH! But Monday I should be able to go to the bank where the check is from and cash it so I have money for LA and paying Mom back for Will and Amber's fanime registration.
We walked to Tia Margarita (closed, of course) after that, despite my legs aching like a bitch, so we headed up to Tommy's on 22nd and Geary. My craving for Mexican fulfilled at last! But to be honest, I like Chevy's better. ^^; It might not really be Mexican, but I love all the vegetables they serve with the fajitas-- and the tortillas are HUGE, and they're flour, NOT corn, not to mention they have that yummy polenta stuff I love so much. DELISH! I think I'll go there on my b'day. Mom thinks it's a good idea. =D The bonfire/bbq thing is still up in the air, but I want it to happen-- and hopefully I can arrange it so we don't get arrested. Park Services is cracking down on beach bonfires. >_<
I got home and was ZONKED! I fell right asleep, and when I finally mustered up the energy and leg strength to get up, I plopped back down again to watch the anime tapes I'd gotten from FX. I'd watched some of the Sailor Moon before, but not having Volume 7 of SuperS REALLY SUCKS! I missed the episode where the Amazoness Quartet first appeared, not to mention the part where the Senshi got powered up and got their new attacks. ;_; I guess I'll just have to buy the VHS that ADV Films has been releasing... or MAYBE I could add it to my wish list? Hehe, I should update and get my personal page, Every Heart up at Souten (my website)... and update the main page layout, too. It needs updating. =D Anyone care to help?

When I finished with Sailor Moon SuperS and DNA² (and there's MORE of that! I thought it ended at episode 12!!), I went online. Whee, Mike was online! He never answered my question about whether he got that long-winded, SF-update email I sent him though... @_@; But it was fantastic talking to him again, and hopefully his plans to come out here for Fanime/the summer are still intact. Of course, the advice I wanted regarding going to the first Passover seder I've been to in nearly two years didn't come out the way I hoped... ^^;; That's what I get for talking to a guy that's been to PARTIES all night long. Blah. But we;ll keep in touch and everything-- I can't wait till he gets back. I still have to send him a bunch of anime, too! I need a CD-labeler thing, not to mention blank CDs... ~_~
I'm considering working on Archive Obscura, with fics so far featuring:
DNA²
Full Metal Panic
Full Moon o Sagashite
Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai
G-On Riders
...and possibly others as I see/hear about them! Anyone else have any ideas?
I think I'm done with the catching up and schtuff... there are some (non-physical) things that have been bothering me lately, but I suppose I'd just be better off writing to my school's advice column. *snicker* People would probably figure out that it was me anyhow. Hopefully the rest of the weekend (and Monday) will go well... I hope to have fun. =)
