In case you didn't know, FFnet has just announced that all categories with more than 500 fics in them will now have the 2-character option so authors can specify the main characters of the fic. Obviously, a list of characters was needed, but there's something seriously wrong here, and any fan will immediately notice... who the hell is who? A comprehensive list with short definitions. See if you can tell who's missing (and trust me, there are missing people).
Akunadin - The priest of the Millennium Eye in Ancient Egypt. Priest Seto's father, and the man responsible for the creation of the Millennium Items.
Ankumanukanon - His name's actually "Akunamukanon," but he was the Pharaoh before Atem(u), aka Yami no Yuugi.
Amelda - One of Dartz's lackies, also known as "Alister" in the dub. He's the one with the midriff-baring top and the short burgundy hair.
Anzu M. - Anzu Mazaki, my favorite leading lady. She wants to dance in New York someday. Also known as Téa Gardner.
Arthur H. - Arthur Hopkins (Hawkins in the dub), one of Sugoroku/Solomon Mutou's old friends. He's an archaeologist, responsible for uncovering
Atlantis.
Asuka T. - Asuka Tenjoin, one of the duelists from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: GX. She attends Kaiba's Duelist Academy, and is in the Obelisk Blue dorms.
Atem - Also known as Atemu, this is the name of Yami no Yuugi in his past life, aka the Pharaoh.
Big 5 - Collectively, they are Gansley (??? - Big 1), Crump (??? Otaki - Big 2), Johnson (Ooka Chikuzen - Big 3), Nesbitt (Oota Soichiro - Big 4), and Leichter (??? Daimon - Big 5). These guys made a deal with Pegasus to give him Kaiba Corp's Solid Vision technology if Pegasus could defeat Yuugi. When that failed, they tried to destroy Kaiba in his own Virtual World (anime only), and then again in Noah's Virtual World (anime only).
Bobasa - The giant guardian of the Millennium Items once Yuugi and Co. reach the end of their travels in Egypt. Initially, he only appeared in the manga, but he was given a brief role in the anime, as well.
Camillia - Her name's actually Camilla, and she's the 2nd Assassin in Yu-Gi-Oh GX! Think of her along the same lines as Pegasus's Player Killers.
Chosaku M. - Manjome Chosaku is his full name, and he's the oldest member of the Manjome family, which is at the top of the political ladder. He's from Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and his youngest brother is in Kaiba's Duelist Academy.
Chris - Dartz's daughter and Iron Heart's grand-daughter, and a princess of Atlantis. Yami no Yuugi encountered her while trying to "get Yuugi back."
Cronos D. - He can also be called Chronos, with his surname being De Mediz. He's the super-elite leader of the Obelisk Blue dorms in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
Cyndia - Pegasus's late wife. She's also been known as "Cynthia" and "Cecelia" and even "Celia." Only "Cyndia" is really the right name. She died young of an unspecified illness, and Pegasus, driven mad by the loneliness, went to Egypt to find a way to bring her back to life. Instead, he discovered Duel Monsters, which made him rich... and later on, he aimed to use Kaiba Corp.'s Solid Vision to create a lifelike hologram of Cyndia. He failed on both counts, obviously.
Daichi M. - Misawa Daichi, one of the duelists in the Ra Yellow dorms at Kaiba's Duelist Academy (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX).
Darkness - One of the Player Killers in Pegasus's Duelist Kingdom, but also one of the Assassins meant to go after the hero of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
Dartz - The former king of Atlantis, and the leader of the Three Swordsmen, Raphael, Valon, and Amelda (Alister). He seeks to use the power of the Seal of Orichalchos to take souls to ressurect the great beast, Leviathan, a legendary Sea Serpent.
Deschutes L. - Deschutes Lew, one of the duelists from Yu-Gi-Oh R! (a spinoff manga based off Shin Duelist 8, also known as Reshef of Destruction).
Edogawa - The duelist champion from a rival school to Kaiba's Duelist Academy, in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
Esparoba - We like to call him Espa Roba; he's one of many Battle City participants, but one who pretended to use ESP (hence the "Espa" in his name) to read his opponent's cards/moves. In truth, he had his little brothers using hi-powered binoculars to spy on his opponents' hands from far away.
Fubuki T. - Fubuki Tenjoin is Asuka Tenjoin's older brother. He disappeared in a haunted dorm. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Fujirada - A character from the original series of Yu-Gi-Oh, as produced by Toei Animation. His name in the manga was actually Kujirada. He's the guy that tried to ruin everyone's fun with their digital pet (similar to Tamagotchi, or Nano Pets) by having his massive digi-pet defeat and devour everyone else's.
Geberuk - Also known as Gebeluk-- one of the not-so-nice characters from the Ancient Egypt arc, in charge of maintaining a torture chamber where criminals with powerful ka (soul Duel Monsters) attempt to survive. He bears a striking resemblance to a butler in Seto Kaiba's home from the first part of the manga series.
Getsukou T. - Yakou Tenma's (the enemy of Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the spinoff manga based off the Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction game) identical twin brother... Like his brother, he wants to see Pegasus brought back to life (he was killed in the manga), but he refuses to do it by harming others. He hesitates in sacrificing Anzu to bring Pegasus back.
Gozaburo K. - Gozaburo Kaiba, Seto and Mokuba's adopted father, or foster father. He is not their step-father, as being a step-parent requires a biological parent to marry someone new. This didn't happen. He committed suicide in the manga after Seto succeeded in taking over Kaiba Corp. In the anime, he had a heart attack. However, he uploaded his consciousness to the virtual world, but Seto dueled him and won, and Noah destroyed him (along with himself) and the Virtual World.
Haga - Insector Haga, also known as Weevil Underwood. He's the annoying regional champion of Duel Monsters in Japan-- that is, before Kaiba and Yuugi came along.
Halakti - Another typo. This one is supposed to be "Horak'ti," the legendary God/Duel Monster that's actually the fusion of all three God Cards (Obelisk, Slifer/Osiris, and Ra).
Hamado H. - A typo. His name's actually Hamada Haiyama, and he was one of many students that got pushed around by digital-pet abuser Kujirada (Fujirada). Hamada later took his anger out on Kujirada, but Yami no Yuugi defeated him in a digital-pet duel.
Hayato M. - Hayato Maeda is a 16-year-old duelist at Kaiba's Duelist Academy from the Osiris Red dorms, and a good friend to series hero Yuuki Juudai. He's got a huge nose (to be proportional to the rest of his body... ^^;) but believes -as Yuuki does- that he can hear the "voices" of the Duel Monsters.
Hikari K. - It's not really a name so much as an alias. This is "Hikari Kamen," translated as "Light Mask." In the dub, he also gained the name "Lumos." He's one of two Battle City duelists using a Mask deck. Him and his brother "Yami Kamen" or "Dark Mask" (alias "Umbra") are defeated by Kaiba and Yuugi.
Hiroto H. - Hiroto Honda, known as Tristan Taylor in the dub, is a good friend of Katsuya Jounouchi (Joey Wheeler). He was the only one who knew Jounouchi prior to high school, and was aware of Jounouchi's involvement with a gang. Later on in the series (both anime and manga), he befriends Yuugi Mutou and Anzu Mazaki. He's a bit more wary around newcomer Ryou Bakura, and was responsible for throwing the Millennium Ring into the sea at Duelist Kingdom. In the first series, he's obsessive about keeping areas clean, and is a member of the Beautification Club. He also has a crush on Miho Nosaka, though by the time the second series (Duel Monsters, and the one we see dubbed on TV) rolls around, his feelings have gravitated toward Jounouchi's younger sister, Shizuka Kawai.
Hirutani - The leader of a gang that Jounouchi was once a member of. He threatens to harm Anzu and Yuugi if Jounouchi doesn't rejoin the gang, despite Jounouchi not going to their high school (Rintama). Hirutani is ruthless, greedy, and cruel-- responsible for torturing Jounouchi when he wouldn't obey orders. Jounouchi later kicked Hirutani's butt.
Ichinose - The principal of the rival school to Kaiba's Duelist Academy. He's the one responsible for guiding Manjome (which Manjome, I have no idea) to enter his school.
Imori - One of the gamers Yami no Yuugi first faced, in the first part of the manga (and the first series of the anime). He dared to open a legendary Dragon Box, and started a dark game with Yami no Yuugi, with their souls at stake.
Iron Heart - The former king of Atlantis, and Dartz's father. When Dartz started to express his desire to see the "evil" or "darkness" in humanity's hearts purged, Iron Heart took Dartz's daughter Chris and they staged a rebellion against Dartz.
Isis - One of the six priests (she's the only priestess) guarding the Pharaoh Atem(u). She possesses the Millennium Torque, also known as the Millennium Necklace. (Note that Millennium Tauk is actually a poor romanization of "Ta-u-ku," which is Japanese roman pronounciation of "torque," a type of necklace common in Africa.)
Isis I. - Isis Ishtar, known as Ishizu Ishtar in the dub, is the reincarnation of the priestess Isis, and is the holder of the Millennium Torque (Necklace). She feels responsible for watching over the ruins of the former Pharaoh Atemu's palace, where Duel Monsters supposedly originated, and also guarding a variety of secret cards, including the legendary God Cards. She only left Egypt to bring the exhibit bearing the truth of Yami no Yuugi's past life to Japan, and to stop her younger brother Malik (Marik) from killing the Pharaoh.
Isono - One of Kaiba's employees, known as Roland in the dub. He's the officiant of the Battle City tournament, and handles many of Kaiba's personal affairs.
Judai Y. - Yuuki Juudai (there is an elongated u in both names; Yuuki is actually his given name, NOT his surname, as this FFnet listing implies) is the hero of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series. He attends Kaiba's Duelist Academy and is in the bottom-of-the-barrel Osiris Red dorm. However, he seems to be considered Yuugi Mutou's successor, as Yuugi personally gave him a card, "Hane Kuriboh," with which to start his dueling career. He's got a mix of Yuugi's determination with Jounouchi's lively personality.
Jun M. - Jun Manjome is the youngest of the Manjome family, which is set to be a leading family in the financial and political worlds. People have high expectations of Jun. He's the only one of the brothers enrolled at the Duelist Academy, and is in the Obelisk Blue dorms. He's Yuuki Juudai's enemy/antagonist, similar to how Kaiba was to Yuugi.
Junka - A typo. Her name's actually Junko, and she's Asuka Tenjoin's roommate in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, in the Obelisk Blue girls' dorms.
Jyotaro - A typo. His name's actually Shoutarou (an easy mistake to make; however, there are no sonnation/ten-ten marks over the "shi" character in his name; so it's Shoutarou. I also listened to the first series anime sound track carefully; it's Shoutarou) Akahoshi, and he's a rabid watch collector. He doesn't believe that Miho deserves the exclusive D-Shock watch that Honda gets for her, so he steals it off Honda while they're in an arcade. Yuugi sees Shoutarou eyeing them all suspiciously, so he follows him-- only to initiate a Dark Duel with the thief as Yami no Yuugi. Shoutaru obviously fails to beat Yuugi, and is forced to give the D-Shock back.
Kagurazaka - A duelist at Kaiba's Duelist Academy, in the top dorms, Ra Yellow. He hasn't quite seemed to have found his niche, as he is known only for copying other people's decks.
Kanekura - His full name is Kanekura Kanchou, with Kanchou being his given name. He's a portly supervisor of an Egyptian exhibit brought to Japan's museum, but he greedily plans to steal Yuugi's Millennium Puzzle from him, and keep it on permanent display. However, Shaadi, investigating Yuugi as the holder of the Millennium Puzzle, gets to Kanekura first, and punishes him with the Millennium Scales, which deem Kanakura's heart as being too heavy (or evil). The guardian beast of the underworld, Ammit, half-crocodile and half-hippopotamus, devours Kanekura's soul.
Karim - His name should technically be 'Kalim' which is an appropriate translation of the Arabic name (from Arabic to Japanese to English). He's one of the six priests guarding the Pharaoh Atem(u), and is the holder of the Millennium Scales.
Katou M. - Katou Maiko (Maiko being her given name) is an elderly duelist confined to a wheelchair, hired by Yakou Tenma to defeat Yuugi before he can resue Anzu. She uses a forest-themed deck, and is the 6 of 13 Duel Professors that Yuugi is supposed to face. (Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the spinoff manga based off Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction video game)
Katsuya J. - Katsuya Jounouchi, alias Joey Wheeler in the dub. He's Yuugi Mutou's best friend, and his loyal protector-- though that wasn't always the case. Once, he was in a gang and was a rather ruthless individual, and a slacker at that. Yuugi's attitude bothered him to the point where Jounouchi decided to "teach Yuugi how to be a man," even though such acts were more along the lines of hazing. Anzu always stood up to him, while Honda rallied with Jounouchi... when Yuugi stood up for Jounouchi, they became instant friends. Jounouchi saved Yuugi's life countless times, though he's also been forced to duel Yuugi-- once in Duelist Kingdom (Jounouchi placed 2nd, and used the money for his sister's eye operation) and again in Battle City, when Malik took control of him. He's an incredibly loyal, enthusiastic friend, though he's often the butt of a lot of jokes from other male characters.
Keith H. - Keith Howard, also known as "Bandit Keith." He was an unofficial entrant in Pegasus's Duelist Kingdom tournament, and he sought to humiliate Pegasus the way Pegasus humiliated him by using a child to defeat him at a national tournament in America. Before his resounding defeat, Keith was known as one of America's Duel Professors, or masters of the game. Though Pegasus allowed Keith to compete in the finals of Duelist Kingdom, when he caught Keith cheating (and Keith lost to Jounouchi anyway), Pegasus used the powers of his Millennium Eye to force Keith to commit suicide (manga). In the anime, Keith fell into the ocean, but survived to become one of Malik's temporary lackies, and the one responsible for breaking apart the Millennium Puzzle.
Kirk D. - Kirk Dixon is the 4th of 13 Duel Professors hired by Yakou Tenma to defeat Yuugi before he can rescue Anzu (from Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the spinoff manga based off Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction video game). He plays a machine-themed deck.
Kisara - A blue-eyed, light-blue-haired girl from Ancient Egypt, with no memory of who she is or where she comes from. Because she looks different from most people, she is ostracized, but she possesses a great power within her-- that of the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon ka (soul spirit). She somehow managed to fuel her ba (life energy) with her ka (her soul spirit) so she can't summon the Dragon at will; it only comes out when she's in danger or unconscious. However, when Priest Seto's life was in danger, Kisara mangaed to summon the dragon to protect him. However, Zork Necrophidius managed to kill her and trap the Dragon in a Stone of Wedju (a sealing stone for Duel Monster spirits). The Dragon later protected Seto, and supposedly became HIS ka, even though Kisara was dead. There's a great deal of speculation regarding Kisara and Seto's relationship. The only thing we know for sure is that they both wanted to protect one another. In the anime, Seto once saved Kisara's life, so she returned the favor by trying to stop him from returning to his village, which was burned by bandits. Years later, Priest Seto remembers her, but Kisara does not remember him.
Klamath - Klamath Osler is the third Duel Professor (Card Professor) hired by Yakou Tenma to defeat Yuugi and his friends before they can reach Anzu to rescue her. He has horrible luck and somewhat resembles a rat. He faces Jounouchi in Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the spinoff manga based off Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction video game.
Kohara - A duelist at Kaiba's Duelist Academy, and said to be a great duelist (he's in the top dorm, Ra Yellow), but he's apparently got a weak mind... whatever that means.
Kokurano - A fortune-teller who goes to Yuugi and Co.'s school. He's popular because of his eerily accurate predictions, but when Anzu goes to see him hoping for answers regarding Yami no Yuugi, whom she's developed a crush on, Kokurano decides to make one of his fortunes come true by taking Anzu hostage. Yami no Yuugi challenges him to a Dark Game, which Kokurano loses.
Kozuka - Also known as "Ghost Kozuka," or "Bonz" in the dub. He's one of Bandit Keith's underlings and a participant in the Duelist Kingdom tournament. He uses a Zombie-themed deck to constantly ressurect his monsters and have them grow stronger. When he loses against Jounouchi in the underground arena, Bandit Keith beats him up and takes his star chips.
Kumazou M. - Kumazou Maeda is Hayato's father, and is known as a duelist with a unique technique of defeating his opponents. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Leonard V. - A typo. His name is actually Leonhard von Schraider, though he also goes by the alias Leon Wilson. He's a young, misleading entrant in Kaiba's KC Grand Prix tournament. While he dreams of becoming a true duelist and defeating the likes of Yuugi, he's really Seigfried von Schraider's younger brother (Seigfried being the main enemy of the KC Grand Prix arc, and a rival CEO to Seto Kaiba). If you're wondering about his odd name, it's because he's German, and was specially invited to join the Grand Prix, even though his older brother is actually the European champion.
M. Chono - Her name's actually Ms. Chouno, and she's one of Yuugi and Co.'s teachers in their first year of high school. She only appears in the first series anime and in the manga (though in the anime, her name might be "Jouno"). She's a very conceited teacher who delights in humiliating her students; when she forces a mandatory desk check on the day Honda leaves a love-note (in the form of a puzzle) in Miho Nosaka's desk, Yuugi, Jounouchi, and Honda all stand up to take the blame for Miho, instead of allowing her to get in trouble. Ms. Chouno, unsure of what to do, gives them all detention. Later, Yami no Yuugi forces Ms. Chouno to pay for her selfishness, and plays a Dark Game with her. Chouno loses, and her face becomes a puzzle which breaks apart, revealing the true ugliness in her heart.
Mahado - One of the six priests guarding Pharaoh Atem(u), in the Ancient Egypt arc of the anime/manga. He is one of the Pharaoh's most loyal guards, and is the holder of the Millennium Ring. After Bakura defeats him in a duel, Mahado dies, but fuses himself with his ka Duel Monster, the Illusory Magician-- later known as the Black Magician (Dark Magician).
Mai K. - Mai Kujaku, alias Mai Valentine. She's one of the top female duelists, and uses her sex appeal to the maximum, enticing male duelists to bend to her will. She meets her match when she first duels Yuugi, and later Jounouchi; somewhere in the Duelist Kingdom she realizes that having friends isn't so bad-- but she's not keen on the idea of revealing all her secrets or wearing her heart on her sleeve. She doesn't return until Battle City, in which she's a finalist. However, Malik defeats her in a duel and traps her mind in a Dark Game (the Shadow Realm), which forever corrupts Mai. She later joins Dartz's organization, but prior to the final battle, realizes her mistake and aims to defeat Dartz. However, Raphael defeats her and sends her soul to join countless others to feed the great beast sea-serpent Leviathan.
Malik I. - Malik Ishtar, known as Marik Ishtar in the dub. He's the leader of a rebellious group of Duelists known as the Rare Hunters, seeking the rarest and most powerful cards in Duel Monsters. He once protected the Millennium Items and the ruins of the palace the Pharaoh once called home, but a ceremony to induct him officially into the Tombkeeper's clan brought out a great deal of hatred for his father, and as a result, Yami no Malik was born. Yami no Malik killed the Ishtar patriarch, but Malik didn't realize it. When he saw Shaadi, who mentioned the Pharaoh, Malik blamed the Pharaoh for the deaths of his parents, and decided to seek revenge.
Mana - Mahado's trainee, and a young magician apprentice. She's a bit of a klutz, but is desparate to prove her worth. She bears a striking resemblance to the Black Magician Girl (Dark Magician Girl), and uses the BMG (DMG) as her ka Duel Monster.
Mendo C. - Mendo Cino, the 7th Duelist Professor working for Yakou Tenma (Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the spinoff manga based off of Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction). His name is a pun of "Mendocino," a city in California (and probably named after someone historical).
Miho N. - A fellow classmate of Yuugi, Honda, Jounouchi, Anzu, and Kaiba. Her nickname is "Ribbon-chan," because of the yellow ribbon she always ties her hair up in a ponytail with. In the manga, she has no interest whatsoever in Honda, who has a massive crush on her. In the first series anime, however, she's their friend, and though a bit naive, seems to like Honda at least a little bit.
Misturu A. - His name is really Mitsuru Ayanokouji, and he's the captain of the tennis club at Kaiba's Duelist Academy, but he's also known to be quite the top duelist. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Mokeo M. - His name's Mokeo Motegi, and though he has a childish appearance, he seems to have extreme luck (or skill?) in removing cards from the game, and therefore disabling his opponent. He's in the Obelisk Blue dorms with Asuka Tenjoin. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Mokuba K. - Mokuba Kaiba is Seto Kaiba's younger brother (biologically). He's about 5-6 years younger than Kaiba, but was still subject to much of the same mental and verbal torture that their adopted father, Gozaburo Kaiba, inflicted on them before his death (when Seto was about 14). However, compared to his brother, Mokuba is much more carefree and willing to make friends with Yuugi and Co. In the first series anime and in the manga, Mokuba was actually quite a rude brat, and was the champion of his own game, Capsule Monsters, a collectible-piece game loosely based off Duel Monsters. He has a knack for getting in trouble, and often needs people like Seto or Anzu to get him out of it. He's totally loyal to his brother, and will stand up for him no matter what the circumstances.
Nugamo - Another typo. It's actually referring to Koji "the spider" Nagumo ('gumo' means spider in Japanese), and he was a character that only appeared in the manga. He asks Yami no Yuugi to play "Monster Fighter" with him, a game using plastic toys with collectible monsters that "fight." However, he ruthlessly defeats (often by cheating) his opponents, and then demands their Monster Fighter toys, which he sells (back to the opponent, or to anyone who'll buy it) for a very expensive price! In the DDM video game, he was known as 'Stringer.'
Noa K. - Noa Kaiba (Noah Kaiba), a character created explicitly for the anime (second series: Duel Monsters; a filler arc). He's Seto and Mokuba's fopster brother, and the true son of Gozaburo Kaiba. However, he died in an accident when he was about 10 years old. Gozaburo, stricken with his death, uploaded Noa's consciousness into a computer, and Noa continued to live out his life in a virtual world. He sought vengenace when he saw Seto doing everything that he never had the chance to do in life, and forced Kaiba's Duel Ship (Kaiba Kraft 3) onto a fortress where everyone was sucked into various virtual duels with the Big 5. Noa defeated Seto and turned him and Mokuba to stone, but Yuugi resumed Kaiba's place in a duel and forced Noa to turn everyone back. Noa eventually had a change of heart, and destroyed the virtual persona of Gozaburo, saving everyone but dying once and for all.
Ohara - A student at Kaiba's Duelist Academy. He's a bit big proportionally-speaking, but that doesn't stop him from dreaming big-- he wants to be a game designer. He's in the top dorms, Ra Yellow. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Pandora - One of Malik's lackies in the beginning of the Battle City arc. He's known as Arkana in the dub. He was once a popular magician, but an accident left the upper part of his face horribly burned and scarred, so he wears a mask to cover his eyes and nose. He also wields a powerful Black Magician deck, but he has no faith in his cards as Yuugi does. He believes that if he defeats Yami no Yuugi (and he intended to do so and cut off Yami no Yuugi's legs, leaving him stranded in an illusion/magic arena), Malik will bring Catherine, his ex-wife, back to him. Catherine left Pandora after the accident.
Panic - His name's technically "Panik," (in the dub) and he's one of Pegasus's Player Killers, also known as the "Player Killer of Darkness" (hence the double entry under 'Darkness,' above). He dueled Mai and took her star chips, technically removing her from the Duelist Kingdom tournament, but Yami no Yuugi beats him and leaves him stranded in a Dark Game.
Paradox 1 - Known as "Para" in the dub, he's one of two brother Player Killers that Pegasus hires to man an underground labyrinth leading to Pegasus's castle. In the manga, he's known as "Mei" (Meikyuu = Labyrinth).
Paradox 2 - Known as "Dox" in the dub, he's one of two brother Player Killers that Pegasus hires to man an underground labyrinth leading to Pegasus's castle. In the manga, he's known as "Kyuu" (Meikyuu = Labyrinth).
Pegasus C. - Pegasus J. Crawford (Maximillion Pegasus in the dub) is the multi-millionaire creator of Duel Monsters. He actually created Duel Monsters on a fluke, after his young wife Cyndia died of a sickness. He went to Egypt to discover a way to bring her back to life, but instead discovered Duel Monsters. Shaadi decided he was the one meant to hold the Millennium Eye, and gouged out Pegasus's left eye to put the new one in. As a result, Pegasus's behavior became increasingly bizarre. He staged the Duelist Kingdom tournament so that if he defeated Yuugi, the Big 5 would hand over Kaiba Corp.'s Solid Vision holographic technology. However, Pegasus lost to Yuugi... in the manga, Bakura killed him and took his Millennium Eye; in the anime, Bakura merely took out Pegasus's eye, while Pegasus survived (and reappeared later in the Yu-Gi-Oh movie, and again in the Orichalchos arc).
Pete C. - Pete Coppermine, one of Yakou Tenma's Card Professors hired to defeat Yuugi and Co. before they can reach Anzu to rescue her. He's the 5th of 13 professors, and uses a mutant deck. (Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the spinoff manga based off Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction video game)
Rao A. - Her name's actually Aileen Rao, and she's one of four game masters hired by Kaiba to defeat Yuugi in the first series. She's a beautiful supermodel (Anzu's one of her many admirers), but a ruthless gamer-- she defeated soccer player Eda at the fictional game of Indian chess known as "Rijinhai," and ended up injuring Eda in the process (she told Eda she'd taken that which was most important to him if he lost). When she challenges Yuugi, she takes Anzu hostage and threatens to kill her with a tiger should he lose, but Yuugi ends up winning. Aileen acknowledges Yuugi as a good duelist, but she goes against him (more accurately, against Jounouchi and Miho) in the final Death-T episode.
Raphael - One of Dartz's Three Swordsmen, his main lackies out to defeat top duelists and trap their souls in cards so they can be fed to the great beast Leviathan. Raphael was separated from his friends and family in a horrific accident at sea, and lived most of his life on an island alone, with only his Guardian Duel Monsters cards to keep him company. Dartz later found him and recruited him to "purge the world of its sins," but Raphael later found out that Dartz was responsible for the deaths of his parents, and became an enemy. Dartz realized Raphael's anger would only make the Seal of Orichalchos, more potent, and so the seal took Raphael's soul.
Rare Hunter 1 - One of Malik's henchmen after the rarest Duel Monsters cards around. Malik sends these Rare Hunters to acquire Rare Cards in whatever way possible. Many of them are entrants in Kaiba's Battle City tournament, albeit illegitimately. They use the rare cards they obtain in their duels (and from Malik) to move higher and higher up the ranks, eventually hoping to face Yuugi and Kaiba and obtain their God Cards. Rare Hunter 1 is known for having the unstoppable Exodia in his deck, which he uses to defeat Jounouchi and take his Red Eyes Black Dragon.
Rebecca H. - Rebecca Hopkins (Hawkins in the dub) is the top American Duel Monsters champion (after Bandit Keith lost fame and later died, presumably), and despite her "cute" appearance, is actually a very young college student. She once held a grudge against Yuugi, thinking that he'd taken her grandfather's (Professor Hopkins) legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon card, when in fact Professor Hawkins gave it to Sugoroku/Solomon Mutou, who gave it to Yuugi to duel Kaiba with. Kaiba stole the card and later tore it up. Presumably, Rebecca forgave both Yuugi and Kaiba for their "transgressions" and became a duelist in Kaiba's KC Grand Prix. She also aided Otogi and the others when they fought Dartz and his lackies in the Orichalchos arc, though she has no kind feelings toward Yami no Yuugi whatsoever. She has a major crush on Yuugi, though.
Rei - A young 5th grader (elementary school, year 5 of 6) who has a major crush on Ryou Marufuji, one of the students at Kaiba's Duelist Academy. She decides to follow him there, even though she's not old enough to attend (as far as I know).
Rishid - Also known as Odion in the dub, Rishid is the adopted brother of Isis and Malik Ishtar. He was found as a baby prior to Isis's birth, and brought into the Tombkeeper clan, though he was never formally brought in as a family member. When Malik was forced to undergo the initiation into the Tombkeeper clan (which involved painful etchings being carved/burned into his back), Rishid decided that he would do his own informal initiation, and so he carved similar heiroglyphs on the side of his face. He has a very formal, traditional Egyptian appearance, and follows Malik loyally. However, it is his conscious presence that prevents Yami no Malik from awakening.
Ryou B. - Ryou Bakura is a transfer student to Domino High (from London, according to the dub), and the current holder of the Millennium Ring. Rather shy, he finds it hard to make friends, especially when everyone he meets somehow ends up ending up in the hospital. However, that is the work of the Spirit of the Millennium Ring, also known as Bakura.
Ryou M. - Ryou Marufuji is a duelist attending Kaiba's Duel Academia, and is in the Obelisk Blue dorms. He's a 3rd year, 17-year-old student that uses a Cyber Dragon themed deck, and is known as "perfect king Kaiser." The 5th grader Rei has a huge crush on him, and followed him to the Duel School. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Ryouta K. - Ryouta Kajiki is known as Mako Tsunami in the dub anime, and is a tough duelist who uses a Water-themed deck to duel. He met Yuugi and the gang in Duelist Kingdom, and later in Battle City. He wasn't a finalist in either tournament, however.
Ryuuichi F. - Ryuuichi Fuha is the 2nd game master hired by Kaiba to defeat Yuugi and his friends in the first anime series. He's had very good luck on TV game shows, but when he pushes around Yuugi and the others, Yami no Yuugi challenges him to a Dark Game that he loses, forcing him to relinquish his champion title. Later on in the Death-T arc, he teams up with Aileen Rao against Jounouchi and Miho.
Ryuuji O. - Ryuuji Otogi is the creator of the game Dungeon Dice Monsters, a spinoff of Duel Monsters using dice and a game board. He initially hated Yuugi, believing that he'd cheated when he dueled Pegasus. He challenged Yuugi to defeat him at Dungeon Dice Monsters, but when Yuugi won, Ryuuki acknowledged that Yuugi was no cheater. He later found out that Industrial Illusions (Pegasus's health/whereabouts were unknown at the time of this arc in the anime) accepted his idea, and would mass-produce it with him in America. Ryuuji later rejoined the gang in Battle City, and again in the Orichalchos arc.
Ryuzaki - His name's actually Ryuuzaki, though most people call him Dinosaur Ryuuzaki (Rex Raptor) because of his Dinosaur-themed deck. Mai Kujaku used him as an avatar duelist in Duelist Kingdom, though Ryuuzaki lost to Jounouchi, and was forced to give up his rare Red Eyes Black Dragon as a prize. He's held a grudge against Jounouchi and Yuugi ever since, and has sought to defeat him once more. However, he lost to Jounouchi again in Battle City, and once more in the Orichalchos arc, even though Ryuuzaki joined forces with Dartz.
Sameshima - The principal of Kaiba's Duelist Academy. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Saruwatari - One of Pegasus's henchmen, known as Kimo in the dub. He tried to kill Kaiba, but he didn't succeed. He also planned to help the Big 5.
Set - An iffy translation of High Priest Seto's name from the Ancient Egypt arc (technically if Kazuki Takahashi wanted the High Priest to be the namesake of the God, he would have written the romanized characters "Setto," with a double t consonant). He's one of the six priest guardians of the Pharaoh, and the holder of the Millennium Rod. Though he's not aware of it until the latter stages of the arc, he's actually the priest Akunadin's son, and therefore the Pharaoh's cousin (Akunadin's brother was the Pharaoh). Akunadin always wanted his son to be happy and in a position of power, and so encouraged Set(o) to kill Kisara to get her powerful Blue-Eyes White Dragon ka. However, Set(o) cared for Kisara too much to kill her, and so Akunadin, taken over by the evil entity Zork Necrophidius, did the job for him.
Seto K. - Yuugi's ultimate archrival, and the wealthy, teenage CEO and president of Kaiba Corporation, a former war-equipment company gone gaming corporation. He's also the reincarnation of the Priest Seto, one of the Pharaoh's guardians and his cousin. A duel between the Pharaoh and his guardian (when Priest Seto was possessed with Dark Akunadin/Zork's spirit) lent itself to legend, though the results of the duel were never known. The animosity between Seto and Yuugi continues, centuries later...
Shada - One of the Pharaoh's six guardians, and the holder of the Millennium Ankh (Key). He bears a slight resemblance to Shaadi (below), but he doesn't wear a turban on his head. He's responsible for determining who has powerful or dangerous ka (soul spirits) within them, and helping the other priests defeat those people and transfer their ka into stones of Wedju.
Shadi - His name's really Shaadi, but most people forget the second 'a' sound. The mysterious guardian of the Millennium Items in the present era. He first appeared when an Egyptian exhibit came to Japan, and shed tears at seeing the body of a former king put on display. He is responsible for giving Pegasus his Millennium Eye and leading him to the ruins of the Pharaoh's palace, where he gained inspiration for the Duel Monsters game. He also tests Yuugi as the holder of the Millennium Puzzle, and endangers the life of Anzu and Yuugi's other friends. Once Yuugi beats Shaadi at his own game, Shaadi recognizes him as the King of Games, or the reincarnated Pharaoh. He continues to appear and disappear at will, and holds the Millennium Ankh and the Millennium Scales.
Shimon M. - Shimon Muran (Mulan), one of the Pharaoh's advisers, and a former guardian of Akunamukanon. He hides the lower part of his face with a cloth mask, but it's plain that he's the former incarnation of Sugoroku (Solomon) Mutou, Yuugi's grandfather, and the man responsible for bringing the pieces of the Millennium Puzzle from Egypt. In the video games, he also has the alias "Paradox," and looks somewhat alien (he has blue skin). When the Millennium Items were first created, he was the holder of the Millennium Ankh (Key). If he has any relation to Shada, the next holder, it's not known.
Shizuka K. - Shizuka Kawai (she took her mother's maiden name after her parents divorced) is Jounouchi's younger sister (she's about 3 years younger than him, making her about 13-14 years old). A sickness left her almost completely blinded for most of her adolesence, and it is only when Jounouchi places 2nd in the Duelist Kingdom tournament and gets a huge cash prize that she has the operation she so desperately needs, and has her sight restored. She is very loyal to her brother, despite being separated him for many years and by a long distance. She has also taken to Mai and Anzu, friends of Jounouchi (though Mai seems more like Jounouchi's romantic interest).
Sho M. - Sho Marufuji is the younger brother of Marufuji Ryou, though he doesn't enjoy his older brother's reputation with dueling. Considered a weakling (he uses a "Beak Load" deck), he's not much in terms of Duelists, and, like Yuuki Juudai, is put in the Osiris Red dorms. However, he's Yuuki's good friend. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Shoji M. - Shoji Manjome is one of the older brothers of the Manjome clan, poised to be leaders in the financial and political arenas. Shoji is considered to be a top contender in the world of money, even though he's the middle brother out of the three (the youngest being Jun, the oldest being Chosaku). (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Siegfried V. - Seigfried von Schraider is the European champion of Duel Monsters, possessing an amazing quick-defeat deck using 4 monsters on horseback known as Valkyries. He is the main antagonist of the KC Grand Prix arc, and bears a strong grudge against Kaiba. His younger brother is Leonhard von Schraider (also known as Leon Wilson). Despite being a formidable enemy, he's similar to Pegasus in that his style (wearing pink with a great deal of ruffles) tends to disarm his opponents.
Sugoroku M. - Sugoroku Mutou, also known as Solomon Moto, Yuugi's grandfather. He used to be an adventurer interested in all the games the world had to offer, and so traveled everywhere trying everything. He said he would retire and finally put on a pair of overalls (instead of the sophisticated tuxedo he was fond of wearing) when he was finally defeated at a game. He went to Egypt to explore the legendary tomb of a forgotten Pharaoh, and was betrayed by his companions. However, an intricate set of booby-traps killed them, leaving Sugoroku as the only man alive to survive the ruins and walk away with something precious-- the disassembled Millennium Puzzle. However, the only reason why Sugoroku didn't die in Egypt was because he saw the Spirit of the Millennium Puzzle (the Pharaoh), who saved his life. Sugoroku, though he doesn't let it show, actually has a great deal of knowledge about Egypt and games, and in fact is well-aware of Yami no Yuugi's presence within his grandson. He is also the reincarnation of one of the former Millennium Item (Ankh/Key) holders and an adviser to the Pharaoh, Shimon Muran (Mulan).
Taira T. - Taira Taizan is a student at Kaiba's Duel Academia, and is in the Obelisk Blue dorms. He's known to have "an incredible drawing technique," though whether that refers to the good luck when he draws cards or an incredible art skill, I'm not sure.
Taniya - The Amazoness (though it really should just be Amazon) Taniya is the 3rd and final Assassin. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Tetsuo - A criminal that escaped from prison in the Yu-Gi-Oh manga and first series anime. In the anime, he underwent plastic surgery and disguised himself as a manager at the newly-opened Burger World restaurant where Anzu got a secret job. (In the manga, he has no name; he's just known as Escaped Prisoner #777)
Thief Bakura - The previous incarnation of Yami no Bakura/Ryou Bakura, the holder of the Millennium Ring. As a young boy, he saw his entire village of Kuru Elna (Kul Elna in the Viz translation) massacred by the soldiers under the command of the high priest Akunadin, in the name of the Pharaoh Akunamukanon. The priests used the blood and flesh of the people they killed to create the special metal made for the mold of the Millennium Items. As a result, Bakura harbored a strong grudge against the Pharaoh and his family, and returned to the capital to descecrate Akunamukanon's tomb and destroy the Pharaoh. His grudge has carried over into the next life, and he still seeks to defeat the Pharaoh.
Tira M. - Tira Mukuu is the 2nd of 13 Card Professors that Yakou Tenma hires to defeat Yuugi and his friends before they can reach Anzu to rescue her. She uses a deadly vampire-themed deck. (Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the spinoff manga based off Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction video game).
Titan - A mysterious duelist who supposedly wields the power of a Millennium Item (even though the Millennium Items have disappeared/been destroyed). (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Tome - A kindly lady who works at Kaiba's Duel Academia. She gives a rare card to Yuuki for free. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Tomoya H. - Tomoya Hanasaki is a shy student and classmate of Yuugi and his friends. He has a strong interest in American comics, particularly Zombire. When a mean upperclassman (Sozoji) forces Tomoya to sell tickets to his deafeaning karaoke "concert" and Yuugi takes them off his hands, Sozoji beats Tomoya up. Yuugi, also forced to sell tickets, ends up being the only one to show up-- but when Sozokji's cruelty crosses the line, Yami no Yuugi appears and challenges Sozoji to a game that he loses. Later on, Hanasaki dresses up as Zombire, hoping to save Yuugi from kidnappers; however, it turns out the man he thought kidnapped Yuugi really was laying a trap for him, and wanted Tomoya's money. Yami no Yuugi ended up saving the day.
Ushio - The greedy 3rd year hall monitor who appeared in the first act of the manga, and also in the first series of the anime. He approached Yuugi and asked him if Jounouchi and Honda were bothering him (they were hazing Yuugi, in an attempt to make him stand up for himself), but Yuugi said no. Ushio refused to believe him, and so offered his services as a bodyguard, even though Yuugi didn't want them. Later, Ushio presented Yuugi with a sorely beaten-up Jounouchi and Honda. At first Jounouchi and Honda though Yuugi was really responsible for them getting beat up, but when Yuugi looked horrified and demanded Ushio to stop, they realized they were mistaken. Yuugi ended up getting beat up as well, and was told to pay Ushio off if he didn't want the incident to repeat. Jounouchi, who had taken a piece of the incomplete Millennium Puzzle later returned the piece, allowing Yuugi to become Yami no Yuugi for the first time. Yami no Yuugi found Ushio and challenged him to a dangerous Dark Game, which resulted in Ushio seeing mere leaves as money.
Varon - One of Dartz's Three Swordsmen, or his main lackies. Varon was in and out of a variety of detention centers as a child, and when Dartz approached him to become one of his henchmen, Varon readily agreed if it meant no longer being imprisoned. Little did Varon know that Dartz was actually the one responsible for separating him from his friends and family and putting him in the detention centers in the first place. He actually developed quite a liking for Mai when she was also part of Dartz's organization, despite Mai's "I don't need anyone" attitude. Varon decided that if he defeated Jounouchi, the last remnant of Mai's past, Mai would move on and forget about him, and be happy once more. However, he lost in his duel against Jounouchi, and lost his soul to the Orichalchos. Mai dueled Jounouchi in vengeance, and defeated Jounouchi, but with his passing, realized what a mistake she had made in joining Dartz, and so decided to defeat him to avenge Varon and Jounouchi.
Vivian - Vivian Wong, the Champion of Duel Monsters in Asia. She's very self-centered, and is determined to have the boys of Duel Monsters (namely Seto Kaiba and Yuugi Mutou) fall at her feet. As a result, Rebecca Hopkins, the American duelist champion, hates Vivian's guts, and wants to see her defeated.
Yakou - Yakou Tenma, the antagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh! R, a spinoff manga of the Yu-Gi-Oh series that is based off the Shin Duelist 8/Reshef of Destruction video game. He claims that Pegasus is his brother, and that he'll get revenge against Yuugi for causing Pegasus to commit suicide (though the truth is that Bakura killed Pegasus and took his Millennium Eye). He also has an identical twin brother, Getsukou Tenma, who is far less willing to hurt others for his own gains. Yakou hires a variety of "Duel Professors" to defeat Yuugi before he can get Anzu (who he kidnapped) back.
Yami B. - Presumably a bad acronym for Yami no Bakura, the dark Spirit of the Millennium Ring. Yami no Bakura (simply Bakura in the dub) is actually the "spirit reincarnation" of the Thief King Bakura, someone who had a terrible grudge against the Pharaoh back in Ancient Egypt. That hatred for the Pharaoh continues centuries later, when Yami no Bakura uses Ryou Bakura, a transfer student to Domino High, as his host. Yami no Bakura duels Yuugi and the others a variety of times, always seeking to take their souls or kill them. In the manga, he ruthlessly killed Pegasus and took out his Millennium Eye; in the anime, he simply took out the eye and left Pegasus to bleed.
Yami K. - Presumably a bad acronym for "Yami Kamen," or "Dark Mask," also known as "Umbra" in the dub. He's one of two duelists hired by Malik to defeat Yuugi and take his God Cards in the Battle City tournament. He works alongside "Hikari Kamen," or "Light Mask," also known as Lumos. However, the two duelists are defeated by Kaiba and Yuugi.
This name can also be construed as referring to "Yami Kaiba," or the dark half of Kaiba that was born after Yuugi defeated him in their duel previous to Duelist Kingdom (in which Yami no Yuugi "mind crushed" Kaiba and forced him into a coma). However, that "dark Kaiba" was actually a Player Killer hired by Pegasus, and bore no relation to Kaiba at all (other than using his appearance to trick Yuugi and the others for a short time).
Yami M. - Presumabnly a bad acronym for Yami no Malik, the dark half of Malik Ishtar, born of Malik's hatred for the Pharaoh (at the root of that hatred is Malik's disgust with his father, who forced the Tombkeeper Initiation ritual on Malik). He's not an actual "spirit" of any Millennium Item; rather, he's a split personality of Malik created explicitly from the strong negative feelings Malik had after his Tombkeeper rites. Though he possesses a variety of dark powers similar to Yami no Bakura and Yami no Yuugi (the ability to start Dark Games, and distort the minds of people who lose them against him), he is destroyed and disappears after Yuugi defeats him at the end of Battle City.
Yami Y. - Presumably a bad acronym for Yami no Yuugi, who was originally called "Yami Yugi" and then "Pharaoh" in the dub. He's Yuugi Mutou's "other self," the Spirit of the Millennium Puzzle. He's like Yuugi in most respects, except that he's much more courageous and often rude. He is the reincarnated spirit of the Pharaoh Atem(u), though he has no memory of his rule as Pharaoh, and duels people in order to gain insight on the mystery of his past connected with that of the Millennium Items. He never has a physical form outside of Yuugi, and only "takes over" Yuugi's body when Yuugi allows or is incapacitated. Only when Yuugi gave up his soul to the Orichalchos and later, when they dueled each other before the Eye of Horus in Egypt, did Yami no Yuugi have a separate form from Yuugi.
Yoshimori - Professor Yoshimori is a good friend of Sugoroku Mutou, and is the one who approaches Yuugi in the hopes of getting his Millennium Puzzle for an Egyptian exhibit on display in Japan. However, unlike his associate, Kanekura, he has no ill will toward Yuugi. However, Shaadi uses him as his puppet and, like a zombie, has him go after the others to test Yuugi's resolve as holder of the Millennium Puzzle.
Yuugi M. - The hero of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. A young boy who's actually pretty shy, he refuses to stand up for himself. But he's obsessed with games, and lives with his grandfather (and his mother, who makes a very rare appearance in about 2 acts of the manga/2 anime episodes) at a game shop. He solved the Millennium Puzzle, which his grandfather brought back from Egypt in his heyday. When he solved the Puzzle, it formed an upside-down pyramid which Yuugi used as a pendant on a necklace. That Puzzle housed the Spirit of the Pharaoh, who became known as Yami no Yuugi (Dark Yuugi) or "The Other Yuugi." Initially, Yuugi wasn't aware of when he switched places with "the other Yuugi," but later on, he became aware of another facet to his "self," one that was brave, courageous, quick-witted, and able to make friends with people. Yami no Yuugi became the friend that Yuugi always wished he had, but he also helped Yuugi transform himself into the person he always wanted to be.
Zorc - The Viz translation of "Zork," (Zo-o-ku) from Yami no Bakura's "Monster World" arc and the latter stages of the Ancient Egypt arc (anime and manga). An evil entity out to wipe out mankind. He works with Bakura, who wants to get revenge against the Pharaoh (he believes the Pharaoh's father was responsible for the creation of the Millennium Items, and the deaths of over 99 people from a small village), and later the corrupted priest Akunadin, Priest Seto's father.
A sample of missing names: (in no particular order)
Mr. Daitokuji - A teacher at Kaiba's Duelist Academy, who seems to have an uncanny knowledge of Ancient Egypt. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Pharaoh - Mr. Daitokuji's cat. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Emi Ayukawa - A female supervisor of the Obelisk Blue girls' dorm at Kaiba's Duel Academia. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Momoe - One of Asuka Tenjoin's other roommates in the Obelisk Blue girls' dorms. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
SAL - A duel monkey trained especially as an animal duelist (a joke on Monkey!Honda?) at Kaiba's Duel Academia. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Kousuke Kunisaki - A mysterious guy who sneaks into Kaiba's Duel Academia to find some "valuable news." (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Sara - A mysterious girl part of the Tombkeeper clan (any relation to the Ishtars?) who uses her Gravekeeper's Assailant to protect Yuuki. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Gravekeeper Leader - An unnamed leader of some segment of the Tombkeeper clan, who's very strict when it comes to the execution of intruders. He bears a strange resemblance to the former Pharaoh Akunamukanon. (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)
Daimon - The 4th game master and an old man Kaiba hires to defeat Yuugi and his friends in the first series anime.
Dr. Kekeru Goyu - the doctor responsible for the care of Shizuka Kawai while she's in the hospital in the first series anime. The doctor not only fired Nurse Miyuki (below), but was also neglecting Shizuka. Yami no Yuugi challenged him to a Dark Game which he lost, resulting in Goyu going insane. (He actually looks a lot like Gendo Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Nurse Miyuki Sakurai - A nurse working at the hospital where Shizuka Kawai is a patient in the first series anime. When Dr. Goyu fires her, she decides to move on with her life and go with her boyfriend, much to the chagrin of Jounouchi, who had developed a crush on her.
Kageyama sisters - (Kageyama means "Dark Mountain") The three Kageyama girls from the first series fancy themselves witches, and want Yuugi's "Hecate" cards. In particular, the youngest sister Risa wants Yuugi's Violet Hecate card, and pretends to be a friend to get it. Yuugi's Millennium Puzzle is taken away from him and he's on the verge of losing; however, Kaiba steps in and saves the day, claiming that only he should be the one to defeat Yuugi.
Kaoruko Himekoji - from the first series anime, a girl who, with the assistance of the student council chairman, enters herself in a Domino High beauty contest. However, she tries to prevent Miho from getting to the final round by ripping her beautiful dress apart, so Yami no Yuugi challenges her to a Dark Game which she loses.
Count Sheldon Ledolly - from the first series anime, Sheldon is the 1st game master Kaiba hired to defeat Yuugi and his friends. He's from London, England, and has a collection of dolls he's fond of. Sheldon took control of the school nurse and defeated Yuugi, taking his Neon Knight as a reward. Kaiba later kidnaps Yuugi so he could face Sheldon again; when he does so, Yami no Yuugi defeats Sheldon and Sheldon ends up locked in a dark Penalty Game.
Mayumi - a girl who presumably goes to Domino High; she seems to have a crush on Jounouchi, and wanted to give a gift to him. From the first series anime.
Student Council Chairman - quite obviously, the student council chairman of Domino High. He's Honda's rival of sorts, pushing for Kaoruko Himekoji to win the school beauty contest, instead of Miho.
Tetsu - A man mistaken for being Prisoner 777 (Tetsuo?) at Burger World in the first series anime. He has to prove his innocence so he won't get arrested.
Warashibe - a student from the first series anime, obsessed with Miho Nosaka and sucking on lollipops. He's also good at the game Capsule Monster Chess, the same game that Mokuba is a champion of.
Miruko - Amelda/Alister's younger brother, known as Mikey in the dub. He was killed when Kaiba Corp's (really Dartz's) men attacked their village and ran over Miruko with a tank. In the dub, they "captured" Miruko/Mikey, which spurs Amelda/Alister into joining Dartz so he can get revenge on Kaiba.
Gurimo - the bearded man who appeared at the start of the Orichalchos arc. He has no name in the dub, but is responsible for taking Haga (Weevil) and Ryuuzaki (Rex Raptor)'s souls, and also staging the first duel with Yuugi using the seal of Orichalchos. He successfully summons the stolen Obelisk the Tormenter, though he still loses the duel, and therefore, his soul.
Jean Claude Magnum - a popular Hollywood action star (fictional, mind you, though obviously based off Jean Claude Van Damm) who met Mai on a cruise ship. When Mai rejected his advances, he decided he would have to defeat her in a duel to win her hand at marriage, and so he appeared to challenge her right as she and the others were heading to where the Battle City Quarterfinals would be held (in a stadium, where the Duel Ship/Kaiba Kraft 3 would appear). Though Mai defeated him, Magnum was determined to take Mai away, and used a stunt man dressed up as a ninja Duel Monster to kidnap Mai. This plan failed too, and Mai rejected him once and for all.
A.D. Fujita - A.D. stands for 'assistant director.' This guy appears only in the manga, and is the lackey responsible for staging a documentary about bullying in schools. He reluctantly lures Yuugi to a place to get beat up, so the director can film it all and use it for his show. Fujita is forced to play the part of the bully, though it's clear he doesn't want to. The director responsible for pressuring Fujita is later challenged to a Dark Game by Yami no Yuugi, and is penalized by having a mosaic permanently fixed to his eyes (a television mosaic, the thing used to blur out pictures).
Amane Bakura - Ryou Bakura's younger sister, though she's never explicitly seen. She's only mentioned once in the manga, when Ryou is seen writing a letter to her. It's not known exactly when she died, but it is known she died in a car accident.
Chopman - a serial killer that Kaiba has hired/trapped at KaibaLand to kill Yuugi and his friends. Chopman stands in a pit of oil in a room lit with only one torch, and Jounouchi chained to a podium in the center. After Jounouchi is inspired by Yuugi's Millennium Puzzle, he manages to trick Chopman into chopping open the door separating them from his friends-- but in the process, he knocks the torch over into the oil, setting himself on fire while allowing Jounouchi to escape.
Junky Scorpion store owner - the nasty owner of a shoe store that tries to con Jounouchi out of a pair of sneakers he bought. Yami no Yuugi challenges him to a Dark Game in which the reward is either a wad of money or a bite from a scorpion. The owner loses at his own game, and is poisoned by his own scorpion. He appears only in the manga.
Jouji/Johji - Honda's younger baby cousin appears in the manga and the first series anime, though he's far from cute and innocent. He is a big fan of Kaiba, and won't hesitate to talk smack about anyone who has anything bad to say about Kaiba. He's also a total pervert, constantly hitting on Anzu, and he's quite rude to other guys, including Honda.
Nezumi - A boy who resembles a rat, and who lures Yuugi and Jounouchi to a yo-yo gang that's actually affiliated with Hirutani, the leader of the gang Jounouchi used to be part of. Hirutani and his gang want revenge for the first time Yuugi and Jounouchi defeated them; they decide being violent with yo-yos is the best way to do it. (manga)
Old Man Dentures - a nickname given to the cranky owner of a candy store by Mokuba Kaiba. Mokuba gets the owner to rig a Capsule Monster Chess dispensing machine to only give Yuugi low monsters; despite this, Yuugi still beats Mokuba at his own game. (manga)
Sozoji - mentioned earlier, he appears in the manga. He fancies himself a modern-day Elvis (complete with whacky hair) and forces people to come to his horrid karaoke "concerts" and pay an enormous fee in the process. He forces shy Tomoyo Hanasaki to sell tickets, but when he can't, Yuugi agrees to take them off his hands. Sozoji finds out and beats Hanasaki up, so Yami no Yuugi challenges him to a Dark Game that Sozoji loses, forcing him to hear nothing but his own heartbeat on extra-loud.
Tsuroka - A guidance counselor at Domino High, he reveals the extremely low test scores of Jounouchi, Honda, and Yuugi, and takes away Yuugi's gift from Anzu, a digital fortune telling device called "Lovely Two." In order to get the device back, Yami no Yuugi challenges him to a Dark Game-- if they can find the device anywhere within the school in the timeframe of an hour, Tsuroka has to give it back. If not, the boys are expelled. The boys all determined that Tsuroka would have hidden the device on his person, and so they find it under his wig. Humiliated, Tsuroka gives the game back, so long as Yuugi and the others don't reveal he's bald.
ZTV Director - The director of the show that A.D. Fujita was assistant-directing. He badgered Fujita into luring Yuugi to get beat-up; when Fujita expressed reluctance, the director did the beating up himself, but was subject to a Dark Game courtesy of Yami no Yuugi later on, one that resulted in the director having mosaic blurs permanently fixed to his eyes.
ZTV Producer - the producer of a popular game show that Jounouchi was in during the first part of the manga. The producer intended to rig the game so Jounouchi would lose, but Yami no Yuugi foiled his plan by pouring red paint over all the controls. Jounouchi correctly stopped the wheel on the jackpot slot, but when the producer lost a Dark Game, he was forced to beg for forgiveness on camera. As a result, ZTV went out of business and Jounouchi's check became worthless.
Shougo Aoyama - A young boy from the first Yu-Gi-Oh movie (a 30 minute special) whose Red Eyes Black (?) Dragon is stolen. He turns to Yuugi and the others for help. The movie was produced by Toei, the same people that did the first series of Yu-Gi-Oh!. Shogo is about Mokuba's age (roughly 10-12).
Anubis - The main villain of the Yu-Gi-Oh Movie: Pyramid of Light, the first movie produced by the same company that made Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duel Monsters and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, both of which are dubbed in English (or GX will be at the end of this year). He holds a grudge against the Pharaoh for some reason, and plots to use the Pyramid of Light to control Kaiba and defeat the Pharaoh in a duel.
Can you name any others?
Yeesh, that took forever.
