So after hearing so much about you(not really that much), I finally figuired I'd write something after hearing of your little JP trip.

Wow... it's quite obvious that your little summary was written by an American that knows jack shiht about JP culture. This was perhaps the best example of idiotic japophilism in the past couple months that i've come across. Only to accompany how you act elitist towards others made it that much better.

I need to yell at Joe.

keeping this one short...

Angst doesn't translate to fear. It has a general appliance that includes fear, but it does not mean fear. That's like saying Karaoke means to sing. It has the outside context, but not the meaning. Anime = animated film, animated motion picture. Anime... French word of origin. Japanese adopted word. French word "anime" is exact equivalent of US cartoon. Therefore JP word "anime" is exact equivalent of US "cartoon". Even if you're going to say "well anime is a specific genre", it's not, because by defenition you would have to include French style animation in that category then since the French word is one in the same. Then, you cannot call Korean animation "anime" since there word is different(which escapes me at the time but if you really MUST know i'll get it later).

"Ain't" isn't commonly accepted. It is commonly understood, there's a big difference there.

manga:
noun [C or U]
comic books or animation from Japan which often include sex or violence
(from Cambridge online dictionary)

And as for anime, it is short for the word "animation"
(defined: NOUN: 1. The act, process, or result of imparting life, interest, spirit, motion, or activity. 2. The quality or condition of being alive, active, spirited, or vigorous. 3a. The art or process of preparing animated cartoons. b. An animated cartoon. (from the American Heritage Dictionary online)). Furthermore, also in the American Heritage Dictionary: "SYLLABICATION: an·i·me
NOUN: A style of animation developed in Japan, characterized by stylized colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sex.
ETYMOLOGY: Japanese, short for animshon, animation, from English animation. "

So in other words, to that moron that, while critisizing Mer's writing has used much slang (as in "gonna"), you (the moron) needs to seriously get a life and stop maligning good people with a bunch of bullshit.

And one more thing: before making a judgement of how Mer behaved on the trip, you should read the posts, instead of just 'hearing of them' through some 3rd party.
