Okay, so I finally have steady (?) internet access, now that SBC's figured out what pole was jammed up their arse. But of course, there's never a period when there's no problems. If it's not the computer, it's money. If it's not money, it's me and Scott. If it's not any of those, it's something else. It always is. Damn.

Well, the money situation is partially resolved, since I got my stipend from working at the Sundial today-- $100. Not bad. It should tide me over until I can annoy more people (specifically, the 'rents) for money. The thing pretty much is, this is my birthday present to myself, and if other people want to make my day and give me some nice $100 birthday gifts instead of clothes or makeup, more power to them (and me)! Of course, that just applies to my relatives. I'm still eagerly hoping for fanart or fanfics from That Certain Crowd. *poke poke*

Speaking of which, I better come up with something for Mamono, huh? I mean, her birthday's right after mine! >_< And then Eva... fudge balls. I want to surprise people with things, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

I want to work on layouts, too-- I started this nice new layout on Scott's Mac for Darkness Rising, but Photoshop isn't working right on the PC-- it won't create new files or open anything! Something about an internal online error from Adobe Online when it tried to download an update? o_O! NOOOO... I wish I could just get Scott's Photoshop CS to work on here. *wail*

I also want to give my journal a new look. I like the LJ styles, but I'd really rather abuse the paid time while I have it and make the journal spiffily mine. Any idea on how I can go about it? I really like rhapsody_dragon's journal layout, and many others, but how did you guys do it? Or more accurately, how did you learn?

There's been an accident, and my memory's been wiped. I have no recollection of who I am. Tell me about myself. What do you know about me? What kind of person am I? What are my likes and dislikes? How did we meet and how long have we known each other? Is there one thing in particular that stands out about me? Tell me who I am.

Great, as if Photoshop weren't enough (right when I want to work on layouts, too!) now I can't seem to get my Friends page to load right! It keeps showing me the old style layout, not my new smarmy one! *wails*

Hmm, LimeWire for PC-- getting CS (hey Mamono, can you email me? I have a GoLive question to ask you!) and MX2004. Wish me luck, even over upgraded ProSpeed, this may take a while. Does someone want to explain to me why DSL is considered "slow" and Cable and T1 are not? Can you even GET T1 or T2/T3 at home?

Ficfront: WDKY16 maybe, Death and Absolution... I have no idea why I got inspired to work on that. There's really not all that much to say, is there?

(X__X; Er... But it's for the Opal layout-- called something like 'Opalish?') If you want to stick with component go to component_help and you might find some fun stuff there.

1. Macs don't use *.exe files as far as I know, they use *.apps. Therefore, if you copy all the program files from a Mac and try to install them on a PC, you still won't have the program run file.
2. Yay! Layout-ness... I'll check more on that later, for whatever layout I end up using. I have all these neat blocks and lines I want to use that I saved from ages ago, and I'd love to edit them and use them. Plus I can use up more space in my Pics gallery!

Actually we're good on that front. We being me, and me now having LimeWire. I snagged CS through there, and as far as I know, it works with my crack. I'm such a bad girl... >_>

What do you mean about the whole direct link layout thing? I've successfully posted images from my Pics gallery here in LJ, but you have to be aware of which link (the image location or the page location where the image is hosted) to copy and paste for use in a LJ-post or layout. As far as I'm concerned, that's better than sucking up my onee-chan's bandwith on her domain, since I have yet to pay her for all the time I've used it... ^^;

Ooh, also many thankies for the referal to pamelajoy, I found lots of nifty tutorials and yummers there. Now to think of a layout scheme or somesuch. Maybe Anzu, to go with my moodset? Or WDKY/CO7, just to be evil? ^_^ So many ideas, so little time... (plus I'm hungry...)

Hey, we should set up a ring of evil iPod-wanters. Pamela looks like she's had success getting her iPod mini, and heck knows I want one! If you only need to refer 5 people, that ain't bad at all!

LimeWire appears (from my first usage, I got MX2004 and CS in about an hour) to be bucketloads better than even Kazaa Lite. It takes up a good deal of HD space since it runs on Java, but it tells you so much more info about the file you're downloading, who you're getting it from... it's totally customizable and very user-friendly. No cons as of yet-- even if I don't have the Pro ($18.88/one-time fee) version, it still doesn't hassle me or come bundled with anything else. So if you're a frequent downloader, I suggest getting it, because it's new to PCs, and works like a dream.

Yeah, it does matter if you have the Galleries set on Private-- it can't hotlink them that way. That's the only reason why I'd consider hosting it on incandesce.org, but even then, people would see the images and be able to right click and save them anyway, so what's the point?

And as for an iPod no, you don't need a Mac-- they're standalone devices like MP3 players. They're Windows and Mac compatible, should you want to plug them in and all, and HP even has their own version made for their comps and accessories. LimeWire also works really well with iPods, and comes with a special feature just for them. You have to get iTunes to convert songs, but it's actually quite nice to be able to sample whole packages of songs and pay only 99 cents for them, or less if you buy the 25+ song albums (which they bundle together in nice sets organized by type or holiday or whatnot).

Go read pamelajoy's post about the whole free iPod thing, and then check out the site-- it doesn't seem like too much, but I need to know more myself. Still, free iPod... pretty tempting...

You're real name would be Meredith, though sometimes people call you Mer, or sometimes Evil... er... okay, *I* call you evil because we used to roleplay as Anzu from Yugioh, an anime you like. When we did this, your Anzu, whom you are very much like, was very evil (read: good) to my Seto, whom I played.

Also in your fanfiction-- you're a *GREAT* writer-- What Doesn't Kill You (one of the most popular Azureshipping Seto/Anzu fics out there) you have many evil plot twists and dramatic endings... you specialize in those, I bet.
